Kiss me for Luck

Nah. Got an image of Lindsay Lohan new movie in my head just now. Just My Luck. Its about the unluckiest guy on earth met the kiss the luckiest girl on earth , and during this kiss, their luck changes. She became the unlucky one and he got all the luck.

I am in my sighing mood now. Because things are a bit off from my way. Unlucky? Last week my phone was being unreliable. And this week? My computer. What else. The sunshine in my otherwise dull life. It is showing Physical Dump Memory. The still blue screen when you know everything is lost. Sigh.

So will try to figure out what the hell's wrong it. And probably forked out more cash to greedy computer parts salesperson.

Coming to work today slightly thinking of my poor computer that could not come to reasonable state of life. Before I could even sit properly on my chair, a customer is already looking for me berating me because of a stupid misunderstanding that was not even my problem to begin with !!! Got a sneaking suspicion, someone made a mistake and trying to shift this to me!!!

I had even bring this up to the manager since I could not do a thing from my end except give empty promises. Got another empty promises on how somebody gonna call this customer back, which resulted in NADA. No calls made to this poor customer. I felt for this customer. I really do. But I obviously could not do anything, which thankfully the customer understand . ( I thank my own persuasion skills, ehem , ehem) . But he want some kinda answer back soon next week which I think even my own persuasion skills might fail then.

Which bring me to impending feeling of doom, since the manager will not be in next week. I got some vague response when I had reported of this customer troubles and requests. You can be damned sure this case will come back to bite me on my ass since no one wants to take responsibility. Great. Any bartending position open?
What a great start to work right? Now, just for closing, things could not get any better. I am in an afternoon shift which end somewhere at 9 or 10 pm. So just before I typed this, my bladder is giving me sign. To the bathroom you must go. Heeding the call of nature, I went into our floortoilet. The toilet is located outside of the office , so you need to basically go through 2 doors.

Hitting the door, a foul smell invaded my senses. Now, bathroom = foul smell. Typical of any Malaysian toilet sadly to say. But going in a few steps back to my favorite cubicle ( Come on, don't say you guys who work don't have a favorite cubicles ), I freezes cause the foul smell is really quite disgusting, and I lost my appetite just reliving the experience to you unfortunate readers. There was the No.2 (a.k.a as human droppings) splattered across the floor of my favorite cubicle and the adjacent cubicles. Someone had besmirched my cubicle! Unforgivable! She deserved to be lynched, quartered and hang out to dry.

I went out of the toilet hurriedly losing my ability to feel, appease the nature and my appetite. I checked and double checked that I don't have any 'mark' on my sandals so I can throw it away and walk barefoot back. Thankfully my ratty sandals are spared.

Shheeeessshhhhh! Did I mention that before coming to work I had also managed to see a human shit near Avenue K? The usual shit that the regular crazy guy which haunt its bus stop leave freely quite happily. Those who walked there had become accustomed to the sudden pile of human defecation spoiling our walking experience, that we generally tend walk slightly deviating from the our straight line . The today dropping? Not in the usual place but was spotted well ahead. But definitely not one of the thing you want to start your day with eh?

What is with all the shit; literally, that people wanted to show to the world?? I think I had seen enough of my fair share.

Argh. I think I am going to hunt 7 different kinda flower to 'mandi bunga' to wash all this bad experience (or bad luck if you might call it) away. Or maybe I could just kiss one hell of a lucky guy to change my luck? Easier to find bunga I say. The F1 deco flowers is still in bloom in front of KLCC. Right.

Standing in the Middle Ground

Of football fever. I thought I was not gonna blog about this. . Since I was never a football fan.But who am I kidding. The World Cup every 4 year only. I could only get the chance to blog this in another 4 year time. Furthermore, World Cup reminders are plastered everywhere I go. Either you like it or not , you need to nod your head in agreement that it is happening.

Now. I am thinking what is the point of this entry again. Oh sod it. Probably it just for the sake of updating. For those of you who are so nice to come in here once in a while and read it. See see. I am being generous. Hahaha.

Ehem. Anyway. I don't have anything against football. Soccer. World Cup. In fact I enjoyed watching the 2002 World Cup apart from what Asrol might say. However that was in the day when I was holidaying, have not got much to do and all of the decent TV station is showing the match. It is either that or some lame drama swasta that have the same plot again and again (Rich guy/girl meet poor man/girl, conflict arises, love triangle, parents disapproval, bla bla bla... that is a different rant altogether).

I can see the goodness in these match. Large sweaty men running around chasing one ball. The aim? To shoot the ball into a really big net . Then the team which managed to literally at time kick the other teams asses , win a big golden trophy that of course have one golden ball perched at the top. All grown men will then shouted gleefully or cry unashamedly in unison all over the world except of course the US. Sheesh.

Now see. I understand the game. Kidding. I meant to say that I can see the beauty in it. The good defensive strategy use by the German. The passion ( a.k.a .. *cough* *cough*
beauties/really handsome guys/tall,dark,handsome.. *cough* *cough*) that the Italians and the Spanish team when they play. The antic of Ronaldo. The flair of the Brazil team play. ( I like watching the Brazil team. Its like watching a streak of green and yellow maddeningly go across the field) . Our hope and support on the underdog team to let them surprise us if they are able to make it and also to make some people very rich.

If people ask me to join them to see a football watch, I wouldn't refused. Heck, I even join with you guys in shouting some swear words when some dumb players ; as many of you would deem it at that particular time, could not manage to score a decent goal.

But. There is a but here. To me, it is not the most wanted to watch thing at the moment. If say, any of my favorite series are showing at the moment, I would rather watch this series. Or movies showing. Or do something else, go out, shop, go to cinema. Let just say that, if there is no errand, no activities, no cinematic experience I needed to experience, no series, no decent show; then , maybe, maybe I will turn the Sport Channel on.

So leave me alone with your football mania and pushing around saying I need to watch the World Cup, since it is the greatest game on earth, or it is only once in every 4 year, or whatever reason it is. Nah. I will be interested to see the result or to take a peek in once in a while or join you when watching it mamak. But why does offside is consider an offside , completely eluded me. So that is why it don't hold my interest for long.

p/s: I still think Germany would win. Come in close second , Brazil.

Be Careful Of What You Wish For...

Or it might comes true.

I have a hankering for a new handphone last week. Not really in need of one. Just you know the urge to shop. Spending money needlessly. Desire. Lust. The 7 deadly sins.

Went for a lunch date with my friends at Sungei Wang last Saturday. Sungei Wang always have a tantalizing show of handphones. So we went into each booth and held, adored, tested many of the phones. Motorola. Samsung. Sony Ericcson. My heart was tempted. What is more with my devilish friends are already whispering sweet nothing to my ears
" Lawa ni Dila... eeeii.. warna pink lak tu ".
" Eii.. bestnye phone ni. Clear gile gamba die. "

Sigh. Not helping me save money, my friends here. See See. Anyway, I managed to not be sway and tear myself away. I had win. Desire lost. 1 - 0.

After all I thought to myself, there are a loads of other things I need to buy and this would be sheer extravagance on my side.

Or so I thought. On Tuesday, my adequate averagish phone are showing telltale sign of being unreliable. At first having problems calling people. At first I thought it is a DiGi problem. Then by yesterday, if I manage to get them, or them me, I have to resort to speaker phone. Definitely not helping when I am currently looking for a job while currently ON a job.

Funnily this happen today. Thank God that it is already late and not much people around or *gasp* *shudders* my boss nearby. My phone is silently ringing. Looking into the number, it is an undentified KL number. Goody. Interview opportunities. Accepted the call hoping my phone won't fail me. It 'failurely' did.

Talk about multi tasking. I was with a customer when the phone start ringing, but luckily the customer needed to be transferred. Transferring customer while talking to a phone agreeing to an interview , with the speaker phone blaring out our conversation.

Thats it. My phone basically failed as a phone. A working non-nonsense phone. If basic function such as calling a person and sms 'kong', it is time to change your phone. Think about it.

If kidnapped and stashed and bound in a small room or closet. Am wide awake after sometime. Found out got handphone with self. Call 999 or 122 or 112 or whatever emergency number is for handphone. Dang! Need to turn on speaker phone. A dead giveaway to kidnapper hearing this outside the door; " bla , bla, bla Panggilan Kecemasan... Ape yang boleh saya bantu" . Literally. The kidnapper think how incredibly stupid the victim could be, ragingly slashed the victim's throat.

Okay. Okay. I am over exaggerating. But hey, this could make a great scene in a thriller movie.

So I get my wish after all. I can have my options of handphone. Guilt free. (Well, maybe not that guilt free.)

Being sweet, I'll give my phone some chance to redeem itself until this weekend.

Internet is Down

Here I am. The Internet connection at my company are acting up. Yesterday, we were left desolate , cut off from the cyber world. Well except the 4 of us who have the Corporate machine.

Today things improved. But my application is acting up, it kept on disconnecting. So I am having problems doing my work. I turn to blog. That means I am bored.

I got another job,in a server based company. However they wanted me to start immediately which is impossible. Haih. Read la. I say 1 month notice clearly in my resume. Sigh. Therefore I have to miss out on this opportunity. I could not leave my company in 24 hour notice and paid them RM2k. Simply said, it do not tempt me to leave my company in such fashion.

In making this decision, I turn to perform Solat Istikharah to ask God in providing some guidance. Hoping to get some kinda dream about jobs related stuff, I ended up waking up with an image of *ehem* *ehem* him in my mind. Felt disgusted with subconcious self that could not even detach in making life altering decision.

However the next day, I am fairly sure this should be my decision; that I could not simply just quit and go, so I took that as a sign and don't let doubt seeped into my mind again. Well at least mind numbing doubts with thousand of question marks flitting through mind.

Remembered my post of bleak hopeless future. Ahh.. I forgot to put the upside of it. Hahaha. I guess, I got carried away. Anyway, I will try to make some changes in my life.

Life on a job will drain your life away. I remembered my trainer Yunki asked me what I blogged about. I just shrugged and said stuff and all. He said it is good that I got things outside of work for my interest. It kept yourself grounded as a person and you wouldn't be stress or go mad from the hectic and pressure of work.

So, right. Why do you think I watch Grey's Anatomy so much? To see other people suffer in their own work!

But little changes can be made here and there. So big dreams are to be sighed about and think moonily of once in a while. Some people are just lucky to enjoy what they are paid to do everyday. While some, like others, just drudge on hoping for the best. However you can still make your little dreams happen. The thing you always wanted to do, the place you always wanted to see, the peoples you always wanted to visit.

The Time Traveler's Wife

I was first introduced to this book by Taqiness. However he gave me an e-book. Haih. I am still a good ol fashioned bookworm. Reading e-book tend to give me headache.

I loved reading book before going to sleep, with a mug of steaming Milo or very mild Nescafe (to help me to a better sleep) , in my hand. I loved reading book right after waking up, curled in my blanket, with little ray of sunshine shining down on my bed. Flipping the pages. Feeling the paper on my smudged fingers. I am way off point here.

Anyhow, I had finished reading The Time Traveler's Wife. My thought after I had finish reading it. C'est magnifique! Marvellous! Fabuloso! Tres bien incredible! Okay. I think I had just managed to butcher and offend the French language.

Before going on further , I will just give a brief summary of the book.

The book is about the life and love of both the Time Traveler, Henry and the love of his life and wife, Clare. Henry is suffering from some genetic disorder which caused him to time travel involuntarily. Exciting? Not if you would appear somewhere sometime stark naked and chased by a dog. All he wish was a normal life with Clare. The ever waiting patient wife.
Clare first meet Henry when she was 6 and Henry was 36. Henry first met Clare when he was 28 and Clare was 20. Complicated? Yes at first. And so this book tells of their complicated life and their great love. On the painful humilliation and experience he have to undergone whenever he time travel. And of the anxiety and agonizing wait Clare have to endure.

The plot is simple enough. At first you are trying to figure out the time they are together. As you get used to the storyline and the idea of a genetic disorder that can caused people to dissapear and appear in another time (freaky? yeah. Highly illogical? yeah too), however as you read on, this are push aside. Then you are lost in their world , wishing them well even though their life and future seems bleak, screaming at them to find a way to change their fate and their curse.

I love how the author depicts the story so vividly. You can almost see them in colors. Their early love and life in the Meadow where Henry always appear meeting past Clare, almost as green and colorful with all the colors of the nature. The childhood and early life of Henry before meeting Clare. Depicted as cold and dark, which makes me think of a dark grey drizzling rainy night and hearing a soft sad piece of classical music. Their tumultuous years, where passion and emotion run high, giving it a bask of red.

This is one of the few most poignant and beautiful book I had read (Probably my taste is more bloody and gory). The author, Audrey Niffenegger do not go into much detail into explaining on how does the genetic disorder comes upon, or how its happening and the science of it. Which I find pretty vague, but this give Henry problem more an aura of mystery. Its story among of all things tell of a love story. There is the all enduring, great love that they have with each other. But it also tells of the many other faces of love, the destructive love that destroyed a person so completely. The all consuming love which left a person broken up. Love which are filled with longing that stands for years showing the great chemistry it invoked, giving sparks and fireworks . The desolate convenient love. And the ever hopeful love. Love of a lover, of friends and family.

I found in IMDB that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt had bought the rights to this book for filming. Can't imagine Jennifer Aniston as Clare. But since their marriage went belly up, I wonder if not them, who would be brave enought to attempt to bring this to the big screen?

If one sentence can sum it all? A haunting, poignant beautiful story that tells of love all enduring.

p/s: wow wheee~ update lagi.

The days my dream came crashing down

No. It wouldn't take a day. It probably take a few months or even these past year.

Now. Its been sometime since I bitch about something. Now its the time. I will bitch about everything. But where to start? Who shall I protect so that he/she won't be hurt when they read my blog? Does the expense of baring it all is actually worth the fragile friendship I try to make?

You see. They all said life in your teens sucks. Teenagers have all these hormones keep on shooting up , which messes up their life. This then led to drug abuse, wild dangerous partying, casual unprotective sex.. and so on. This is what THEY says. Who? Pyschiatrist, so called PHD doctors. You know what? My life as a teenagers was great. I think they got it all. They got youth, they got hope, they got ambitions, they got time and alll of the first time moments. And if problemos arises. Presto! Blame it on your parents. Blame it on the government. Blame it on the hormone. Heck, some even blame God.

When you got to your 20s? You are all grown up. You had finish studying. You realized suddenly that you are not being spoon fed by all the information and learning. Poof. You are left to fend for yourself. Find a job. Felt the wrath of a boss. Felt pressurized and slightly dull by the monotonous life you led everyday.

But the most horrible things are. Your dreams. Some peoples are lucky to achieve their dreams. They know what they want, and they got what they want. In your 20s, you realized, ambition and dreams are not as clear cut as they were when you were an aspiring youth walking through campus. You need to compromise with yourself. Find a solution or alternative that can make you if not as happy, but as satisfied.

You are thinking as you led your everyday life. This is not what I want. What had happened along the way? So you pushed through life in your 20s, blindly , finding what suit you. Who you really are? What do you really want to do? Who you really want to be with? Who you CAN be with? Who is your real friends? Are you really that strong? Are you really that hard headed? Can you take real pressure? Does all of your noble intentions are just intentions but never an act?

You fight unreasonable tears. Why this is happening? Don't I give my all? You realized that honesty no longer work. I found out that honesty is not much appreciated in your 20s. It will bite you at the ass while the person is laughing, silently thinking, ah you pitiful naive creature. You spend your socializing faking that smile. Saying everything is grand, but life still a bitch just as so to show you are not showing off.

The upside of it? The cash of course. The effort which generate on own cold good ol cash. But that is spent on paying off your loans. Now. Life is just bleak. So does the weather now.

So thats why I shop. Yeay! Pretty things make me happy. Huhuhu.

p/s: I think this entry is just to justify my spending habit kut. Haih.

The One with the Snakes

I am suffering from a bad headache because of oversleeping. I do not slept much during the weekend due to lots of activities! So now I am sleeping and typing. Sleeping and typing. How do I do that?

Niece birthday, wedding, shopping since FCUK got a to die for sale. (Psstt... 50 and 60% off. Jeans that cost RM400 now cost RM140++)

Yesterday, due to sheer boredomness, and since watching Animal Hotel MASKargo is cracking me up so much (sheer boredom remembered) that it is becoming annoying, I turned to watch documentary on snakes. Eik,ugh. I hate snakes. Their cold scaly skin. Eiii... I remembered holding em and feeling the snake coiling and slithering on top of my palm and on my neck. Yuck yuck. But you got to admit they are beautiful. In a morbid disgusting kinda way.

I then remembered that, I have close (near death?) and frightening encounters with snake. Twice. It was the time when my family were living in Bentong. We lived in this bungalow beside the hill with jungle spruce and the wilds just beyond the road. It was the late 80s then.

When I was around six, I liked to make a mess downstairs (the living room). It was the holiday then . Played with my toys and running around. Ain't life simple then. Since my mum had just delivered by brother, she was staying upstairs in her room most of the time and I can make a pretty mess without being told off. However, by afternoon I was getting tired by all of the mess and decided to 'clean it up' a bit. My version of cleaning up then meant to throw all of my toys into a big basket.

So I then picked up my toys one by one and put it into the red basket. Around three quarter of my toys are now in the basket. Alas, I can see the floor and rugs again. Then I noticed something funny about the rug. There is something under the rug. To better describe it, its like a long big rope which make the rug bunches a bit. Now.. that should be a clue to most of you. However, that thought don't invade into my 6 year old brains. Thinking it must be one of toy, I pick up the rug. Lo and behold. A living breathing 1 metre plus long brown-black snake. It hisses and try to lunge at me poor self. But I was already running and soon with the snake at my heel and quickly went up screaming up the stairs thinking, snakes don't have legs, so surely it can't climb stairs.

Told my mom about the snake, but she was a bit skeptic. So I gingerly went downstairs again with my Mom , looking for that darn snake. I found it all curled up, sleeping under our side table. So it got itself a new home after a kid had upset its scrathcy kangaroo skins lair. My mom then called the Pet Control. Nahh. My father I think. Because about half an hour later 3 or 4 army guys came to our house. They chased the snakes around while exasperatingly told me to get lost since I was all excited wanting to watch the action. The end? Happy Ending. No life was harmed except the snake. The snake ended up at the bottom of our garbage can.

The second incident. I was around 7 then and have a cat name Combi. It is a cute striped brown cat which was adored by the whole family. So everytime I got home after eating my lunch, I would then search for my cat if he had not make his appearance.

One fine afternoon, after lunch I joyfully went at the back of the house calling my cat. My steps froze when realizing in front of me was a cobra. Its head with its hood spread was going round and round like . It is like something you saw of a Snake Charmer or performer played the music to the cobra and its head went round and round as if following the music. Only this is without music but I was hypnotized as if the snake itself was the charmer this time. Last time, I got away by running fast. This time I was horrofully fascinated by the snake. After what I felt like a lifetime, my cat, Combi came running to me and pounced on the cobra. Snapped out of my reverie, I went running back to the front. Looking back, I saw Combi happily playing with the snake;pawing it , circling the snake, while the snake was furiously hissing and lunging but missing Combi everytime.

My lil cat, the hero of the day later on just nonchalantly went back indoor in search of food. Later that day, I looked for the cobra again but it was gone. It was the last time I had snake problems at my home in Bentong again. But it is probably because we moved the end of that year.

Testing Testing

Testing tgk. Mengong laks rase.

Lalala. So now I changed. The theme. Yeay. Blergh. I really want to change before this. I guess cyan really was not into me. Nor does the girl terdampar at the top. This is pretty OK.

At least is not pink (Hear Hear Marq) . I meant I was thinking, pink can be the way to go. But then if I look at my pink colored blog everyday , I might just scratch my eyeballs out, so I opt not to use Pink colored blog as my theme.

And I really like 3 column blog. Ever since I used the last one. I kinda like can put anything I like beside my entries. My very own personal bookmark. I don't even have to worry if I changed computer. Gasp!

So I am b ack to my true origin which is kinda purplish. Whut do you guys called this color? Dark, dreary, depressing. But with a hint of flower to give a false presence of cheeriness. Yups. Perfect. Just like me.

Yawn~ Today is Supernatural . Eik.. Yeay. I don't really like Jared Padalecki. I still thought of him as Rory's loserish ex boyfriend. But Jensen Ackles (Dean) is HOT. He looks short beside tall lanky Jared, but he have the longest eyelashes. I have a thing with guys having long eyelashes (Note: The guy working at Apple stores at a mall make me almost dizzy to be swoon. No.. I am not going to tell you what or where the mall is.. since it will be a dead giveaway, and I liked to ogle him alone)

Grease Lightning

I got chills, they're multiplyin', and I'm losin' control. Cause the power you're supplyin', it's electrifyin' .

Sounds familiar? Well that is because that is the lyric from Grease, You're the One That I Want. Shoots. I had always love Grease. I remembered watching it when I was small and prancing around afterwards. I also stumbled on my aunts book on Grease which have the lyrics and all the pictures from the movie which I loved to pore over. John Travolta was the hottest in the movie.

When someone mentioned to me months ago that they'll be performing in KL, this is a DEFINITE NOT to be missed opportunity. My all time favorite movie, my all time favorite song, Summer Night (tell me more, tell me more..). A must see for self-professed Grease lover . So I bought the ticket that I can most afford so as to let myself really enjoy it. So got myself a seat that is not so shabby and can see the stage oh so clearly.

So just got back. It was marvellous. Spectacular. Lovely. I was laughing along. Entertaining. My head is filled with its songs, and the dance moves. Its electrifying! Great musical experience for a first timer like me.

The show started with the casts asking us viewers to get on the stage and have some Rock and Roll Time and dance your heart out. The one giving it all, got prizes! Then the show started immediately with Grease,Summer Nights among the few. I have to restraint myself from roaring out the words of Summer Nights too and jumping up and down cheering them on. Need. To. Be. Matured, Self-Possesed . Young Woman. and Watch Nonchalantly looking like I had been to musicals from diapers.

But by golly, the peps of "Danny" is like wow. He got great bod. Ehem. Of course, he gave great performance. And "Vince Fontaine" popping out now and then giving anecdotes and filling out the storyline is hugely entertaining. You also got to drool over admire all the tight fitting clothes the cast is wearing."Rizzo" have the longest legs. And she seems to be wearing those short tight tight most of the time. I think cast-wise, it would be the most fun to play her. She get to have all the fun part and all those great dance moves too. Can see with own eyes, real life swinging, legs all around the abs move, twirling, men picking up women effortlessly (I meant that literally of course).

The set is simple, but effective. The transition are quick and don't leave audience hanging. Of course they are expert, and have been doing this, since I did not exist in the world. (Misc Fact: The musical started at 1971). So this is kacang to them right? Yeps yeps. And it shows on the energy shown by the cast.

However I believe the main thing that people are coming to see this musical for is for the timeless catchy vibrant songs and its cool 50s dance moves and of course to relive Grease!

What can I say..... Grease Lightning!

p/s: Yeah. The pics, I took it from Ticketcharge.com. I did take some. But camera phone is so lousy and my damn cable have the habit of dissapearing. And for those asking for me to videotape it. Sori. No can do. I would probably be thrown out and fined. But I'll see if my friend managed it. But what the pics shown is as it is tonight.

To Change or Not?

Kinda thinking.. to change my blog template.. but malasnye~

Since I couldn't be bothered to ponder and squint on my blog coding and make new designs, so I am looking for templates... Honestly either the design is way simple or some are just too wacky. Sigh~ Beggars can't be choosers I guess.

I like this one. Herm. Maybe I will wait.. or just try one just for the heck of it. Maybe maybe.

Poseidon

I just got back from watching Mission Impossible 3. What? The title above do not match? Of course since I will not be talking about Mission Impossible. Anyhow just to add in my 1 cent worth, Mission Impossible is a good action flick. Great action, and all the showmanship of technology and Tom Cruise still rock as Ethan Hunt, also his wrinkles kinda suit him. Wink. Dunno if a gal around my age who now think wrinkles for guy looks becoming, is either showing a sign of maturity or it is just sad. However I do wish I get to see Jonathan Rhys Meyer to have more action. His crooked smile is cute.

Anyhow, last Friday night I got an itch to see Poseidon.

So I asked my friends who's readily available and one of my friend agreed out of boredom. I had always love the 1972 The Poseidon Adventure. I am not necessarily a fan of old movies, but this one I like. So when I heard they were gonna do a remake of the movie, I felt thrilled. I am not like some of those pessimist who think any remake is a bad idea. I like remake. I can make comparison and see how they can improvise. The Poseidon Adventure was or is hailed as one of the first disaster flick movies which spurred Hollywood into a disaster movie making frenzy. I remembered watching the movie when I was 10 and was awed. And who can forget Shelley Winters performance as Bell Rosen. Sigh.

So I went to see the movie without high expectation. That doesn't sound right. Well, I just wanted to enjoy myself and I know its gonna be not bad.

For the clueless, the Poseidon Adventure 1972 was basically about a luxury cruise ship which is celebrating New Year Eve. During the partying and celebration , came a rogue wave which overturned the ship. The ship was then upside down. The celebration is held at the hall which is the at the top of the ship. So now, most of the peoples are stuck at the bottom after the ship overturned. Then came a reverend, which are concerned for their safety, (cause you know.. it is never a good idea to stay so long without any clue on the bottom of an upturned boat)asked for the survivors in the hall to join him to go up to safety. Where he can see the stars and be reassured by it (I made that last sentence up, but the main point was he want to get up there on the bottom?hull? of the boat to get help). This was met in doubt and some protest by the already dazed and many injured passengers. The captain assured them that they would be safe staying where they are, and thats as good enough to them. However a few survivors, heed the reverend advice and went up clamoring to safety. Thus then came the Poseidon adventure where they must make their way up against the flooding of sea waters, fire, and wreckage.

In the new movie; Poseidon, it is basically the same thing. New Year celebration, rogue wave, ship overturned, only a handful of survivors went up to safety to get help. The main difference here is instead of the goody reverend who is determined to save them all which act like a leader to the group of survivors, this Poseidon picture have Josh Lucas as a reluctant leader , which are forced to lead the few survivors who are also not convinced the boat is safe anymore. We got the same plot, but different characters.

What I think about it? As many people says, there are no character development. There is little time for us to familiarize with the characters. Thus we do not get attached to the character, so when they died, its kinda like we were thinking, "Ok. One died. Moving on..,". Somehow it did not manage to tap into the human tragedy of it as what Titanic had done. However for us to really get familiarize with the almost a dozen characters can be a tad bit hard to achieve in so lil time, so I guess those who are looking for a good cry, can go somewhere else to get their fix.

But the script. Oh. Dear. God. Was horrendous. It is kinda painful to see good actors and actresses actually saying this kinda, sometimes corny line. I think Kurt Russell was right and probably knew the script was really bad, when he said jokingly before the premiere that Poseidon should be made into a silent movie for people to appreciate it. The character is saying all the wrong thing at the wrong time. But I love Kurt Russell character though as Robert Ramsey. He looks so.. sad at times. Josh Lucas did an OK job too, but I don't see the bad rogue turn moralistic ethically conscience transition. Its kinda like, he was a good person from the start and have problems trying to show the bad side of him.

I got all the bad thing aside. Now , in term of suspense and action packed. You want an action flick. This is the one you should go. The wave came pretty early in the movie. And it is from then just non stop until the end. You got all of the flooding of waters you want. People getting fried. You also get jumping around and wreckage of ship being flung down, fire, flash fire. You are hooked to your seat (Not there is anywhere to go since I had paid for the ticket) and sometimes gripping to your seat to watch how they get through the obstacles one by one.

As for the special effect.. well the wave one.. its not exactly The Perfect Storm material. But it was OK enough of a job. I do love the part when it showed just when the wave crashed into the ship. The wrecking of the ship is being done spectacularly. And lots and lots of bodies lying around in a grotesque manner.

I don't particularly like it when they are showing around the ship just right when the movie started. The exterior shot of the ship shown is lovely, but look just too ... computer generated I should say. Not much interior shot tho. The camera go round and round. It make me dizzy. But it should be a great to see it in IMAX since all the fire and underwater scenes can thus be truly appreciated.

As far as comparison goes, I can't say if the The Poseidon Adventure 1972 was better than what Wolfgang Petersen direct. It wouldn't be fair to compare it to since the storyline of the characters are different, but since it is somewhat like a remake, we tend to compare it for those who loved the old movie. There are its pro and cons. The Poseidon Adventure strong point is Shelley Winters. Heh. But Poseidon stand on its own too. It would be a good movie to watch again. But not the one you reminiscence fondly of.

If I were to give it a rating, I will gave it 3 out of 5. For all of the good old action packed adventure it gave you non stop.

Who? You?

What is it ? Is it a bug? A virus? A trend suddenly catching up? People are ignoring other reason unknown as rampant as leggings on celebrities today.

I was asked by a person , heh, (don't want to put name la here) what make a guy ignored a girl. One day he can oh so lovey dovey and all. The next day , *poof*. He will disappear into thin air that you are suddenly thinking; are you not dreaming of that moment with him yesterday.

I also find out that this do not just happens to guy. Or girl. Guys too have this moment. One day, everything seems fine, he think it is fine. The next day, the girl won't pick up the sms, call him back or admit that he exist in the same planet as her.

People kept on asking why, why? We human are equipped with a brain and intelligence that we could not let this matter rest. What? I slurped my coffee too loudly? I laughed like a hyenas? I bored you to sleep? Or as one zany bachelorette put her view oh so clearly in public TV when she is not hand picked by the bachelor. "You don't find me attractive?, I'm too short?, I have small boobs?, what?"

Dating in the 20s. It just sucks. Girls are so.. lets get married, I wanna settle down period. Guys are like. Whoa~ I don't ask for it. I specifically said I don't want this kinda thing period. I might just get married suddenly. To get away from it all. Who who? Scott Speedman is still single since Ewan McGregor is married? Will ya take me?

Oh, I won't put my own experience here. The experience is too .... Let just say the wound still sting. I afraid I might lash out more than either of us could handle. So I just.. let it be.

I informed them. Let it be. Most probably they have someone else. If not, but they keep on playing that kinda game, for the heck of it , or as some idiot might say , the chase is gone so does the thrill and there goes the love. Or.. they are just idiot. Full Stop. I don't know. If I know, I would be writing another book " He/She is just not that into you. Part II: For the Real Dummies", be widely successful, live in a penthouse with an indoor swimming pool and puffing out cigars smoke to the face of my suitors.

It is just not worth it. Its not worth it if the people we thought we love don't give a damn of a time to think how we must have felt. So have fun. Be busy. Don't think about it. There are other decent people aplenty. All you need to do is dig 6 feet since they are all dead. Kidding. They ARE decent people. I am kinda decent. In an odd, slightly neurotic kinda way. So does, (counting with fingers on hand and wrinkling nose and forehead to think of other decent people).............

Right? Say I'm right.

But don't you wish you can just shake the truth out of them. Like a really stubborn pepper shaker. *shake* *shake*. Damnit. Out with it already.

Tidbits of Ho Chi Minh

About my trip to Vietnam. I would't tire myself (nor bored you) by reminiscing day to day thingies. I will just write whatever.

My journey there ain't that bad. Went to KLIA for our flight. Remembered my last post when I said I hate travelling becoz it would make puke. I never puke once! Yeay.

Eeekkyy stuff aside now. The MAS flight food was surprisingly good. Even though I was kinda amazed they put "bendir" in our nasi lemak. Probably kacang cost too much?

We arrived at Ho Chi Minh near 10 a.m. However Immigration process takes forever so I was out of the airport near 11 a.m. The Immigration Officer there does look really apt in scrutunizing our face if it match the one in the passport though.

You can say my trip to Vietnam is mostly a shopping trip. Lament, lament. I know I should go atravelling with younger personas. Nonetheless, I love shopping so that ain't bad either.

Stepping into Ho Chi Minh city, the first thing you thought. They are many, many, many motorcycles. And there are very little traffic lights . Most cars there are either chauffeur driven or taxis. Honking loudly and often seems to be a normal way of telling other motorist "Hey I am going down this road now, get out of my way,". The Ho Chi Minh drivers would most certainly survived KL roads. I am terrified in crossing the roads the first day I was there.

Saigon River & Ho Chi Minh from the view of our hotel.

Okay. Basically I had divided my blog telling into Shopping, Trip to Chu Chi Tunnel and Misc. What can I say, I had been trained to write in points by my History teacher.

Shopping

Since their embroidered kain, clothes and bags are very much a steal and are pretty with great quality, I went into a shopping spree.. Wheee~ Their lacquer stuffs are pretty good too. But since I am not setting up a home or anything , so I don't give it a second glance. My money ain't that much, to buy too much things you know.

One of the places which my sister loved to bring us is the Ben Thanh Market. Its kinda like Padang Besar. This is a place I identified in buying bags and some little clothes. The choices are... gasping. Embroidered bags, beads bag, small tote bags, wristlet.... None of course leather. The type of clothes, ranging from fake branded stuffs to lovely traditional Vietnamese garbs. I also managed to custom made my very own traditional Vietnam clothes. Wondered when I will wear it. The tailors/seamstresses near the market are super fast. They can usually finish up your clothes in 24 hours time.

Of course clothes is not the only thing there. It have a wet market, which I briefly visit with my sister to buy some veggies, some food stalls which robbed you blind, little trinkets stuff which ranges from pottery, lacquer, wood carving, painting to crytallized bangles.

During one of our trip there, we also managed to witness a mini catfight between 2 madam shop owners. Dunno what they were fighting about. One of them were flailing around a water jug to hit the other while being restrained by their their friends/colleague.

Ben Thanh market. The sales peoples there like to take you by the hand and ask to go and look into their stalls
.

We also tend to gape on the mini ships teak carvings. These are scattered around the city. Our particular haunt is just at the back of the hotel. They even include the historical story of the ship they carved. Also they have other mini vehicles carvings like helicopter, train, fighter jet. Heh. I bought myself a Jeep. I love the fire truck teak carving though. It have a ladder which you can slide it up and down. But its a bit costly and I don't fancy trudging heavy luggage. I leave it be.

The ceramic potteries is also very unique and cheap. Depending on the places you go of course. My sister favorite haunt is Song Be. However as I said, I am no housewife. So I was like whut? Pottery? Pasu? I'll pass. Even my lil niece managed to bought herself 3 cute ceramic duckies which is now swimming in my sis lil garden pot. And she is 2!! The women in the house is certainly bringing this child down. But she managed to break one of them, moments after it was take out from the plastic bag, so the 3 little duckies now left 2.

My most shamefully spending money when we were stopping at Hong Anh boutique. This boutique have a collection of really lovely baju kurung and kebaya with a cheap price. The design is simple , and I love the little beads they sew it on. I won't get that kinda clothes with that kinda price here.

The ehem, CDs are even much cheaper. With great quality too. Needs to be careful though. Brad Pitt maybe speaking Vietnamese. I bought the whole season of SATC. What? Download? Blargh. Easier. And way, way, way cheaper. Almost the same price as wasting money on Stimix a month.

The Tunnels.

Since I informed my sister, I want to go and see some Viet Cong tunnels, us family went to the Chu Chi Tunnels (I think...) . It takes 2 hour very bumpy journey to get there. My 2 year old niece was looking very green by the end of the ride.

We went into tour on how the Viet Cong village was like during the wars. Entering the village, we are greeted with sharp bamboo sticking out from the ground. I am sure if that is not a trap, more like showing we-are-scary-so-better-not mess-around-with-us. However during the tour, we got around the tour of typical Vietnamese village yesteryears.

It pretty much look like our village in the 50s might look. But with some pretty interesting details here and there. It is impressive to see what they did in those days to survive and fight. That even young slip of girls take up their gun to fight off soldiers coming their way. Makes you think eh, if you were to live at that particular place and time, will you be a coward or a hero? And what makes a person hero? Is it through the eyes of the others who suffered the same fate as you or to the objective person on the other side of the world who leisurely judged you at the comfort of their own cool home if you are wrong or not ?

Our guide explained, the adults fight by day, and farm by night. The women of course stay at home to cook for the dear men who need to fight. Chivalry ? But if it came to a truly dire time, then the womenfolk too need to take up their weapons. Children are required to go to school to learn to read and write and learn and be bomb carriers.

Come rain, shine or wars; learning must go on.

The dummy farms. This is a dummy. It showed well, peoples need to feed themselves even though during hard time. So thus needs to be self sufficient by farming.

It also show some of the traps still lurking about. Gah, I really don't fancy these sharp sticks to be the end of anyone.

The sign which says; "Die you soldier." Kidding. I have no idea what the heck the sign is saying.

We then went to the ever famous tunnels for the next tour. The Viet Cong soldiers dig these tunnels basically to hide out, operate and attack their enemies. Its very hot. They said only their people can fit into this tunnel back in those days. It won't fit a foreigner. Psstt, I think they meant pesky American soldiers. The lower level of the tunnels can only just fit a small lithe Asian, lying down. Of course back in those days everyone was slim. If they stay in the tunnel , always hot and all sweating from all the lack of oxygen and of course warring, it would slim anyone down. I think this tend to be the best slimming method of all. Except the part where you are always in mortal danger of course.

These second part of the tour showed the past tunnels, how it was dig and some of the 'rooms' that were used before such as its meeting room, the operating room and recovery tunnel.

The tunnels go as deep as 8 metres to 10 metres. They used a small hoe. One tunnel which were dug were usually be handled by only 4 person. My, you down there. How big muscly arm you have~

In the tunnels, there are also trap laid out for those who are unfamiliar with the layout or location. If an enemy chose to go in, they are pretty much a goner. I went into the tunnels and it was freaking dark, managed to bump my head (which I still have the bruise a week after) and soiled my clothes. Never had I ever felt so claustrophobic. But it was a good experience nonetheless. I was in the peak of a really bad cold at the time, so I was not up to feeling that adventurous and just went into a few tunnels showed. My mom, aunty and sis just opted to stay firmly above ground. While we were exploring underground, our second in command tour guide showed my family where my brother and I below were headed. So if we went into one tunnel and emerged at another, she will showed the rest of the family the way above.

The she which led us to the correct path. I meant tunnels. Seems to be a strong silent type. She just wag her tail and joyfully trotted down to the next tunnel showing us where we need to go next. Never heard a bark from her once.

By the end of the tour we were served by a plateful of hot steaming tapioca and their very own special Vietnam tea. My throat was so sore from the flu , it was such a relief to pour some hot liquid down one throat.

We went back tired, hungry and with some knowledge on how M-16 look and felt like.

Thats my bro. With guns. Obviously.

The Currency

I never have a head for numbers. At first the currency difference is baffling for a person who look at Maths like some kind of disease. Their currency deal in 000 000 . They have like 300 000 dong which drives me nuts at first in trying to figure it out. Then I got the hang of it. To know if its worth it, E.g. if the thing cost like 500 000 dong, take out the three 000 at the back, divide 500 by 4, and you get your estimate in RM. Tada, thats dila teaching Maths , noobs! My dividing and multiplying mathematical skills sucks, so it does take me sometimes when buying things. I think they pretty much saw that, and screwed me dry.

The Food? Well. We only went to eat outside once. A Malaysian restaurant. Its pretty hard to find halal food. So I only ate home cooked food.

Well. I think thats it. I pretty much run out of things to tell. Its not much tho. But I did enjoyed it. Ho Chi Minh is a nice thriving peaceful city to me. The peoples are very very nice, friendly and polite. The goods are lovely and relatively cheap. Wouldn't mind going again, I should say.

Back

I just got back from my trip to Vietnam. Goodbye Vietnam, Hello Malaysia.

This is just a short note since I am a tad bit tired and also am not feeling well. Feverish and flu-like symptons; complete with runny nose, headache and sore throat. It is soooo like me to catch some type of disease when holidaying. My antibodies just always failed to bid my command. Which is to fall sick only during work days. Sigh~

It felt a little weird. Woke up in another country and am about to go to bed at home in KL. My feet are aching from all that walking during the trip but also had somehow managed to reach the weight of a baby mammoth. Damn holiday mood which make me tend to gorge in food. Hey, it rhyme!

Night. Or morning.

Oh yeah.Happy Liberation Day, Vietnam.

Hiatus

I will not be here for almost a week. Starting from tomorrow. Yeay~ Am going to a brief holiday trip. So will not be here to reply to your comments. Maybe I can, but we'll see. (Did you notice that I didn't say blog? Since I am not the type of person who writes daily updates anyway!)

Looking forward to the trip tomorrow, so I am being lazy at work today. Ok. I am always lazy. But who cares... its holiday..holiday... I am always without holiday, so this should be NICE. But I wish I can do without the airplane ride. I hate airplane. Its not the fear of my airplane crashing. Even though I should fear it, but the chances I would be murdered on my way back from work is far greater than an airplane crash.. So I don't give it much of a thought. Its only, well. Okay. I am prone to travel sickness/motion sickness. Really bad. It take me several days to recover sometimes. I love and love to travel though. So that prove to be a conflict with me. Sigh.

Isn't it cool if someone have the tool to transport human like Star Trek (what the exact name eh?). Zap! They're off to another place. That would sooo save fuel and imagine., no traffic jam. Can get into Orlando Bloom house without any problem. All guys too would suddenly appear in Pamela Anderson or (insert name of favorite celebrities to drool over) bathroom when they wanted to take a bath. But of course in reality, if that were to happen all of the molecules in our body would be disintegrate and we would probably arrived there in 1 billion pieces. Yeuch.

This goes the same for the roller coaster or any other thrill rides. The puking thing I meant. Not the Zap of you goes thing. 360 degrees turn, Solero Shot , defying gravity stunts rides and all is very exciting. I like that and I don't think I fear it. However the thought of it makes me green. Literally. I don't fancy to find myself throwing up all over my clothes and the seat of my roller coaster ride. No, sirree. I rather keep my throwing up habit very classy. In a toilet bowl where it should belong.

Soo.. laters!

Note: Nik Ruziawani (or as known in our batch as Gie) a dear friend was involved in a car accident yesterday. Please pray for her recovery. Also received words that she had now regained conciousness again after her operation and should be OK.

So lets shout out aloud

Lets blog.

Easier said than done since I am having a bloggers block. Bah. I hate when that happens.

Anyhow, while everybody else is having fun at Pesta Muda Mudi Indonesia which I opted not to go for no particular reason at all , cough , I went to KLCC to shop. I know it will be crazy with the PC Fair and all. But a girl got to do, what a girl got to do. Even if it means braving KL weekends traffic alone. I hate driving in the weekends. The peoples are either too fast or too slow. As that what happens when one small red car which drove 40kph in front of me at the MR2 . I have problems to overtake because 1) the cars on the right are speed happy and whizzing away like crazy 2) My eyes suddenly went berserk and started to blur and went watery. So between wiping tears that have no place to be there in the first place (since I am not at all sad or crying ) and trying to overtake an impaired car, I was really frustrated.

Went I managed to overtake, the damn red car had actually the impudence to suddenly speed ahead. Zoommm.. off he goes. While I found myself stuck at the middle lane with a really slow Mercedes this time. I was thinking. Karma. This must be karma. I want to cry out of the window.. "but you are Mercedes, damn it. Act like one". But I just went behind the red car again since it is obviously now are speeding on for God knows what reason. Probably his car is reaaaallllyy slow in picking up. Or probably he is just trying to piss me off.

I went to KLCC and parked inside since the car park outside is jam packed and the parking attendant is already shoo-ing peoples away. Don't have much difficulties finding a place to park inside. Suprisingly. Yups yups. FYI, tis my first time driving alone to a shopping mall and park my car. I am horribly inept at parking, so it is with trepidation I went there. See how powerful the needs to shop is to a girl. But everything went A OK

I won't bored you to bits on how I shop . Its the same with any other shopping trips. Buy things , waste money, am richer in worldy goods but poorer in bank balance.

Before I went back home, I went into the magazine shop next to Rotiboy to buy The Star newspaper. There was a portly man standing right in front of the newspaper rack. Hence blocking my views and access to the newspaper. I then said "Excuse me," hoping he would move his ass aside. He turned to looked at me, positively beaming. He apologized profusely and grinning while I pointedly ignored the creepy man and look for my newspaper. Then suddenly I felt a hand patting my arm saying "Sorry ar, sorry ar.. I am really sorry,"

I almost exploded at that since what's give him the right to touch me even though he is indeed sorry and are apologizing. Its not like I killed his pet kittens and feed it to the dogs. I looked around and noticed he had fled. He probably noticed the murderous glint in my eyes and opt to get away before I shouted at him.

Anyhow, nothing untoward happen afterwards. Everything is fine and I proceed to go back home ,open back my computer and replaying the scene from Greys Anatomy where it have Dr. McSteamy. Yups. He is indeed McYummy.

2 years now

Well, blog. You are 2 year old. Yeay. Yeay.
Sidenote: I do not bought my blog a cake. This Birthday Cake was guiltlessly consumed by us during Gohan birthday actually

If it is alive and breathing, it had now learnt to run around semi naked at my house wearing my high heel shoes. Wait. My almost 2 year old niece , had just done that this morning.Well if my blog is my baby, it would do the same too.

It had been 2 years today since I started this blog. It goes from purple to pink then purple again, to briefly gray and now it is cyan. (As most of you manly guys called that. I just called it green-blue) . I changed the title so many times, I forgot what it is called initially. However Dils Stop had always remain the main one. I was not that creative when picking up a title. Dils Stop. Go Figure.

Well, I started this blog as a means to express my feeling out. You know.. I kinda like.. well. Blargh. Well let just say. The getting out to the open and expressing my feelings thing? Kinda sucks. So I like someone then. A lot. And yeah. Maybe I still do, even though it is kinda hard. Wait. What this gotta do with my blog? Well, duh~ This is suppose to be my outlet regarding that, at first. You know. Me being ditzy and stuff.

However being a complete ditz somehow don't quite suit me . So to preserve my sanity and some of my dignity when talking to the person, I typed about something else and then almost everything. Until now. And no. I am still not telling. So end of story there.

The blog was meant to be like an online journal. But peoples who write unrestrainedly are to be applaud. It is hard to write things that are painful to you. So I write in metaphors. Then it become just a simple pleasure, simply because I enjoyed blogging. And I enjoyed reading other blog oh so much.

It introduced me to new friends. It help strengthen some of my friendships. It made me much more aware on various peoples opinions. It is kinda like a forum since we thrived on silly lil comments and shoutbox. And in some ways, Friendster too. Where we know each other updates on life without the boring question, "How are you doing today?".

Remembered when at school, my teacher asked us to do like a journal on " My Homework and What I had learned today" . ::Gag & Puke:: Really ar. Some teachers who try to be too creative can just utterly failed. It is bad enough we have to do essays like " How global warming is affecting the world..." 5 times in 6 months (yawn... scribble ....fall asleep), but to actually write about what the many homeworks we got and what education facts that had been pushed down our throat for today?

I used that particular homework journal book to doodle and draw Walt Disney cartoon at the end.

Now blogging. That is just fun.

So today I am fat. Oh yeah. Peoples tell me so many times I had lose some weight. Yet. In a few days , I can gained all the fat I had been trying to lose for a few weeks.

You know what? I blamed the media for this. Of course , every girl with a lil excess fat does. I just join in the bandwagon . Its definitely not my fault. No. No. So I indulged in KFC and other fast foods. Big deal. (Big? How ironic my choice of words).

I bet if this was 16th century, I am all the rage. Painters like Raphael and Michaelangelo would pay me obscene amount of money to model for them, I could be Mona Lisa. Yeah yeah. The sky is the limit, but my imagination knows no bounds. But anyhow, had you guys ever seen medieval or Renaissance nekkid chicks painting? I meant. They are huge. They are no object of beauty. To us. To guys 500 years ago, these women push their button. To them, they are beautiful. Of course then the men also only think that these beeg beeg girls wil produce em beeg beeg bebe boys to carry on thy family name . Maybe 21st century ain't that bad either.

But I think all this hype about being thin. It is all like trends. So 500 years ago, it was all trendy to have big hips, rounded waist, fat legs. They certainly don't look hourglass to me. Then the stick Twiggy came with her miniskirt and bikinis ,40 or 50 years ago. Boom!~ Downhill goes all the fat women. Today , to be beauti-fool you have to have legs like pole, sunken cheek, no waist, and rid of all fat. (Even the one that were suppose to keep you alive)

Does this stick thin figures wandering around red carpets ever like, eat. So many of them claimed to have really high metabolism. Most of the female artist chirps "Ohhh... I eat whatever I want. So nooo. I don't have any eating disorder. I meannt like, Hellooo? It is so uncool to have like erm.. bulimia." While of course we know they are lying since the paparazzis had taken so many pictures of them but the only pictures we saw when they are feeding themselves are only liquid or salad. It must be nice to have alllll those money but eat rabbit food at famous Italian restaurant. Probably they just went there for the view.

Shrugs. Given the choice, red meat or baby carrot for dinner? You know what? I rather have red meat. What can I say, I am just a sucker for good food. Being thin is I guess a no.2 priority. Yups. I will try to be thin, right after I finish this packet of Lays. Yups yups. Crunch crunch~~

Hello. Are you there?

Damn it. Sometimes some peoples just get on my nerves.

I feel too much of a rage today. So I just give an example below.

The Hello Are You There type. I had just picked up the phone.

" Hello, XXX speaking . Welcome ..."
" Hello! Hello!" . The customer from afar shouted
" Hello, yes. How may.." . I was cut off.
" Hello, Are you there? Hello?" . He shouted again.
Deep breath. Probably bad line. Probably a little deaf.
" Hello. Yes. I am here. " Rolled my eyes upwards. Not again.
" Hello, this is (some blardy name) from.. Hello. Are you there? Hello "
" Yes. I am still here" . Tapping my finger on the desk impatiently.
" Okay. Yes. I have a problem with... Hello. Hello." Does he have like a disease to say Hello for every one second? The line sounded good. And he can hear me. I don't even have the chance to speak much , since he is Hello-ing away so much.
" Yes. I am listening" . Gritting teeth now while saying this.
" Ah yes. Well.. I have problems with ... Hello... Hello" I am happily throttling him in my mind.

I swear. If he was in front me, I would have smashed his head into the floor.

K-ran is the champ with filler words. This is the case where I think you need to enter every oh ah and hmmm into every seconds of the conversation. Ever heard patience? How can I know what you want if I don't listen and talk at the same time?

LRT Inconveniences

Blardy bureaucracy and red tapes. I asked for an access to a lousy tool pon have to go through 3 levels of Support not to mention approval of a higher Manager. Only to be thrown back again in my face, saying this Inbox are reserved for a higher being (Higher Level Executive). Then why in the first place u gave me that email address? Idiotic moronic... thingies. So now, I have no idea where to turn to. Until my manager will again ask, "Dila... have you get that login yet?" I will then lie shamelessly. (Note: The opening is just a sidenote for my frustration :P . For someone who are lost reading my blog )

Rides in the LRT can really shows our Malaysian colors. I am not saying other countries are better than us. I had been to MRT, Underground and WTH is the name of the trains in Barcelona. The crowds are pretty decent. But of course I may be mistaken since I avoid the rush hour then and are so travel happy. Anyhow, no inconsiderate behaviors experience with these electric train outside of Malaysia, yet. Well, discounting the drunk, homeless ol man sleeping in the Underground train in a pool of his own piss.

Some peoples just don't know good manners. Few nights back, I went back by LRT. As usual by 10 p.m., only 1 counter is opened, thus a long queue at the booth. I chose to use the Ticket Machine (Okay, I have no idea what it is called. I called it the Ticket Machine for obvious reason). Pulling out my purse, next to my machine a harried looking man is holding a crumpled RM1 note, asking peoples around him for a change. The Ticket Machine must have spat out his crumpled note.

I am of course always an angel and being a girl, our notes is always crisp and wrinkle free and our coin pouch is always heavy, (Superman theme song ...please) am there to save a lost soul. ::Cough:: I meant to help. He glanced at me and saw I was willing to hand out the change. He then surprised me by his gruff , barking, commanding voice;

"50 sen, 50 sen !" He looked askance at my old purse while waving his hands frantically to me showing to hurry.

I am a bit astounded, shocked and dumbfounded by such manners. Fishing out the coins from my purse, he then impatiently snatched it from my hands. I waited for him to handed me his RM1 note but he just then proceeded to his machine. Only after getting his ticket, he gave (the operative words here: push it roughly to my hand) me his foul looking , crumpled note. What? Afraid my coins wouldn't spit out your ticket is it? That I have fake coins to give to stranger ? I almost felt like throwing the damn money to his face. Rude boorish behavior.

Hello Mr Man Wearing a Blue Shirt on a Wednesday Night, rudely asking for coins from a girl. Please learn good manners. Not even a thank had been uttered. Never in my life had I ever regretted helping out a stranger. You sir, had make this experience worthwhile. And should I encountered you again asking for a change. You can be damn sure you will get something else from me. A piece of my mind.

Also a lil bit on the inconsiderate peoples in LRT. I was standing one day when a woman holding a toddler walked in. Imagine who gave up their seat? A 50-ish year old looking makcik. All these able bodied girls and guys seating at their comfortable seats who btw look younger than me are busy looking elsewhere. What? You think peoples standing around you don't notice that you are trying hard to avoid your eyes from lingering on the peoples who need the seats?

And what is it with peoples hugging the pole at the middle of the Putra LRT when we can barely stand in the sardine packed container? Excuse me , if I mistakenly grab your ears to steady myself from falling headfirst into your smelly shirt since your whole tub of lard is enveloping the pole , for us to hold on for dear life to.

Hey, I noticed that!

Peoples sometimes have this uncanny ability to develop a third or fourth eyes. Our mom and teachers have that all the time. The ability to know we are snoozing or doodling something when we are supposed to do some Maths exercise. Before we reach that level, sometimes we do have that ability.

You can called it as 'perasan'. Don't you ever get that tingling sensation that someone is watching you when you are laughing with your friends. Or when you are at the far end of the corner at the cafeteria you know that other person who is on the other side of the cafeteria is looking at you. Its kinda hard to beat that feeling away. You will start thinking, what? Does the person like you? Or do you dress funny today? There is a stain at my shirt? I usually get the wrong impression that peoples are sniggering at me. Ahh.. well another proof of my low self esteem. Or maybe it is right? Peoples do sniggered at me? Baahh. Push that aside. But sometimes you might be wrong. That other person is looking at the person at your back. Or just staring blankly in your direction. Or you might really have a tear at the back your pants. When you realized that, you will red-facedly stalk yourself away from his/her eye gazing areas.

I used to care a lot what peoples think about me. Now I could't give much a hoot. (I put much, so I do care a bit). I find out by sticking earplugs in hearing my mp3 list playing, I am in another world. Therefore the state of 'perasan' days ceased.

Last week however. I was riding the PUTRA Lrt to my workplace. As usual embarking from Setiawangsa station, there is no seats. I chose to stand in front of the seats. To pass time, I fiddled around with my Beanie to search for non-depressing songs. It is high time I change my playlist I thought to myself. When we are nearing the Ampang Park, I looked ahead and noticed the guy standing next to me is checking me out. I don't mind guys checking my plain self out. Please do, but do it sparingly and with good manners. But he is obviously checking out my.. ah well.. chest area. He then realized that we are in a dark area where reflections of ourselves are apparent as day and he saw from the reflection I am watching him 1/3 amused, 1/3 grimly, 1/3 shame facedly . I raised my eyebrow and he looked embrassedly, stonily ahead.

Now... Ah well. It just showed that some guys need to hone their skills on checking out girls more. And don't give me that crap about girls wearing tight fitting clothes. My clothes was definitely loose fitting that day.

Hello, Monday. Go Away.

Yawn. Tired out. So there's goes another weekend. And it is Monday. Blergh. I hate Monday. You had to drag yourself out of bed to go to work. On the way to work, you are crying inside because it is the start of 5 non-fun relatively tiring days. Gaah. Peoples always were so busy on Monday, since they need to do things they put off doing on Fridays. We are more harried, stressed out, feeling like wanting to stay in bed and be fat until only a tractor can get you off your room. Did I say again I hate Monday?

My weekend is.. well. Not as what I want it to be. Okay. So I change my blog template. Do you know the insane number of colors to choose from? I like purple or pink. You know. Girly stuffs and a whole of that crap. But I am slightly nauseous looking at those really cheerful flowery template. So there. I meant here. I guess I let it be until Blogger ate my coding again.

Saturday. I dyed my hair red. Muahaha. Finally get around of doing it. The hair stylist eyebrows shot up when I opted red. He looked at me like I am some kinda insane person. What is wrong with red? I quickly corrected myself saying not the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind kinda color. Dark wine. I looked at myself in the mirror when the stylist is shaking his conconction for my hair. (That sounds so wrong in a few levels). I had to do this. You know. Whatever. Right?

It is kinda like, I am the kinda person, when had made up her mind, by hook or by crook she is gonna do it. This is the reason what keeps me going on to give Lan's Petronas girl his number? I could not, not do it. It would haunt me. The ifs.

Well anyway I came home and nobody in my family noticed at first. Hey.. it IS noticeable. If I gain 0.5 kg they would immediately point it out. But I dyed my hair red? Nooo sirree. I informed my brother and he just laughed. My mom went "Huh.. really? Nampak sama aje."

Hurmph. So much of trying to look different. Maybe I should went with the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind look after all. Or tattoo my face.

Sunday. I wanted to stay in. Kemas few things here and there. But everyone is going to the Book Fair and get lunch. Not wanting to starve and the thoughts of cheap books. Haih.. I'll go.

They are a lot of peoples. But not as unbearable as the UMNO gathering. You can still at least, breathe. When searching for the Book Fair at PWTC, we heard that you need to register yourself to get in. That does not make any sense. Pushing my ways through, I found out there is 2 big events ongoing at PWTC today. The direct selling exhibition thingies and Book Fair. The registration is for the direct selling. So we get lost for a while and were dumbfounded to see the many many slimming, beauty products in 1 room. It turned out you need to walk like 3 miles to get to another hall for the book fair.

It was as what you might expect. The education and encycloepadia are the one prevalent. We had to go to the far corner of another hall to get to the novels. I think they are like only 2 booths which have novels. Pay Less Book and I forgot the other one. Another popular second hand bookshops. I forgot its name. The Pay Less booth is quite ok. Their promotion are like Buy 1 Free 1 , or Buy 2 Free 1. The book price is as its bookshop usual price. But it is kinda hard to find a decent author. Here and there Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark (which we had borong it all, so if you guys are looking for it at that booth, you need to look a tad bit harder) , Richard North Patterson, Michael Crichton. The other authors? I just closed my eyes and jab my fingers to choose some of the books. Altogether I bought around 8 books. Some are the from the authors above, some are just books I pick randomly. Same genre. Thriller, disease, serial killers. The usual.

Yeah. I need books to nourish my soul or that kinda nonsense. Okay. No. I just like to nourish myself WHILE reading books.

This Time Tis My Blog Gone Awry.

I have no idea why. I am unsure if any you are encountering these problems. But some of my friends did tell me they can't get into my blog last night.

When I opened IE, all I got is just a purple page. And when opening up Mozilla, it is just a jumble of html codes.

So i decided to change my template . So all of you guys link will be lost for a while and as so many things. Well no worries. I'll make it as almost per normal again by tonight.

Any suggestions?

Btw, Today Is Freaking Friday!

p/s: This is just a temporary templates. I know I know. Grey is so not my color.

The shop had now closed

I went out with a friend. Part boredom and feeling very Florence Nightingale-like forced me to accept his invitation to watch movies.

I knew it was a disaster from the start when he opened the car door for me. I told that to some of my friends, and they went like "Eleh, cakap je tak suke skang nanti-nanti suka la". Only one person laughingly immediately said , " That is definitely not to your liking,". He should know.

Anyhow, it was not that bad. But I was bored out of my mind. I S.O.S my friends to send me messages. I was even considering bolting. Since yours truly is of course the epitome of good manners, so I just grit my teeth and go through it.

I wouldn't mind so much that the guy is telling me about his ex-girlfriend which is not so coincidentally was getting engaged that day. But haih, if in the first place you want my opinion, learnt to deal with it la. The girl had the impudence to actually beg my still besotted friend that it is still time. You think this is Hindustan movie ar gal? I don't know much about the girl. But from what little I heard, I know she ain't good news. I asked him to stay away, which is when he looked at me blankly. What good meaning intentions girl will MMS the pictures of herself with her engagement dress to the person who still love her? But I can see a lost cause when I saw one. I should know. I looked at it in the mirror every day.

So i left him texting his beloved while the peoples in the Hainan shop is probably wondering why am I gleefully texting my friends in order to save my sanity.

It was not that bad actually. The food was great. The movie was marvellous. I love V for Vendetta so much. Yet , there is something missing. I guess both of us don't enjoyed the outing so much. One is thinking about a girl who is now wearing an engagement ring. While another one, is just wishing she is at home, watching anime. There was nothing remotely romantic in it. I felt like I was in a business trip. I was in fact business like. Throughout the day, I pointed out which restaurant is nice and which is not. Which is expensive and which is worthwhile . A business trip where I had to hear and listen and be the good friend in order to let someone forget.

But that role is fast losing the appeal on me. I am tired of being there for guys who had their heart broken. They were never there for me. Haih, I guess I am becoming old. Where I am now am only comfortable with my tiny circle of UTPIAN friends in KL and Bangi and Damansara (ye, ye. Ganu and Klate oso count) and my older friends in JB.

Putting yourself out there? It is scary and full of dissapointment. I believe

Chose

I was writing a rant . Ranting about how depressing life is and how hysterical I had become now.

It sounds so dreary and bleurgh~ I just decided to hit CTRL + A and delete all.
I wonder what I want to write?
Let's imagine that you readers actually care what I going to write. What do you peoples wanted to learn about me? What is the thing that you enjoy listening to? Or am I just too boring for you guys to even care? I am tempted to command you guys to come and tell me, what do you want to hear. But then, maybe the truth will be too terrible for me type or hear.

Anyway, I had a dream yesterday. Yeah, if all else fails, or life get too boring, there is always my dream.

Anyway again, I dreamt of 2 peoples. (I am not included in these dreams ) Damn! Herm.. okay Choronological based summary then peoples.

I dreamt that this guy are attracted to this tall (that definitely ruled me out of the dream), dark haired looking person with a full red mouth and dark sultry eyes. He went and tekel her ar like that. She is hostile at first but quite amused with the guy which slowly thaw her out. Like all lousy fairy tales, she proceed to fall in love.

Most of my dreams have some kind of a sick twisted plot in it right. This is not that sick and twisted. More like weird. It turned out she is a witch. ( I had been watching too much of Bewitched and Charmed )

So of course being beautiful , aloof and all, the other girls hated her. So they went and staged Carrie-like pranks. No pig blood. Milder than that.

One day they have a functions. It is held in something that look like a school gymnasium, (mcm stadium tertutup tu) and the guy ask the girl to dance right in the middle. The guy is dense in spite of his good look. When they just started to dance, suddenly the girls in the sidelines seat stood up and said "You are not welcome here," and "You are a freak, get the hell out of here" and one of the girl reach out for a pole and throw it at the girl. Then the dark haired person , showed her superpower . By just a wave of her hand, the pole is thrown back at the wall.
She looked angrily around her and at her so called boyfriend who stuttered and obviously so dense that he doesnt do anything. A feeling of betrayal came and she chose the guy to be angry at. Without saying anything she stalked out of there. The boyfriend followed but was suddenly blocked by a horse which she had conjured. I have no idea why a horse. The horse is white and have wings , and have a torch slung at its back. Its wing looks like clouds.

When he get around the horse, he noticed she is gone. He then ride the horse and take the torch to search for her. The horse seems to know where to go. It flew up and up the air towards the cloud. You could not see the difference between its wings and the clouds anymore. It then suddenly as by magic brought him to a mansion .He went into the mansion without second thoughts.

In the mansion, a big ol lady came to greet him. Smiling toothily , she said

"The girl is here. But look around"

All around him where animated miniatures dolls where each of them have their own miniature house. The dolls all look alike. Only the colours and the style of the dress are different.

"One of them is your girl. But you can only choose once. Only one time. If you had chosen the wrong doll, you must leave and never come back. You would never see her again."

He look around again while all these miniature dolls are moving around. House to house. Cleaning up their little rooms, baking cookies.

Earth Attack

During my daily browsing of the MSN sites , I encountered a piece of Science geeks news. Saturn got water! Something we had been trying so long and hard to find in Mars. The planet of ice now are spouting geysers of waters.

I wonder if this happened because the Sun is getting hotter? Hurmph~

Anyway. We Earthlings are so gleefully excited to learn or know something of the outer space. We yearn of new life exploding somewhere out of this world. Look at the title of the article itself : Liquid water on Saturn moon could support life. Right away in our mind we are thinking along the line of Earthlings are already making a plan on how to build a home in Saturn when our own planet sea level had rise but full of toxic and the land is a radioactive waste and landfill.
Already peoples are dreaming of building hotel in the Moon. Alang-alang the moon, why not Jupiter, Saturn or Mars aight?

Then if we can support ourself in other planet, then of course came the really boring theory , "Are We Alone ?" I liked watching documentaries, exotic plants, worms eating worms, (I hate American Chopper) , some weird guys think it is fun wrestling with alligators and stuff, and hauntings and bloody histories. But never alien documentary. It is so boring and repetitive.

We get all these same data over and over again. When described, the alien will always look like this:

The spaceship like this .

Well, you get the gist right or at least like me you had seen the spaceships photos and documentaries showing the same pictures hundreds of times.

All this hype of aliens. If there is, probably the aliens wouldn't care a rat ass about us. Maybe there are only microorganism lived out there. And as what the movies are trying to instill in us. This tiny viruses are now building spaceship and superweapon trying to invade us. Uuu scary.

But considering our ruthless and bloodied history. Why there is no movies about we conquering the aliens? Or is there any oldies B grade movies for this? Planet of the Apes?

I think the movie industry is just trying to lull us into thinking that we are this great human beings who are so nice to never think to jajah other places, but can triumph over adversity. Of course histories loved to prove us wrong, where if there is anything to be gain. We will sure cop and brand it saying "This is ours". One day humans will have these super weapons and great spaceship something like Star Trek and we will go attack these little green men because we had just ran out of oil, oxygen, food, our childrenss are overrunning the earth and the ocean is swallowing the land. Imagine the price of real estate then.

Imagine that. Instead of us getting blasted by tripods. We are in the tripods laughing maniacally while aiming the laser at those little green men that is protecting the slightly less taller green boy and the little green girl.

You give love a bad name.

I used to like Bon Jovi. Back in the days when they are singing that song above, Always, Blaze of Glory. Yeah, I am an oldies rock kinda gal. Now when they are yowling on "Thank you for loving me".. and stuff , I felt like flinging the radio out of the windows. I dunno if they are mellowing to be singing like a boy band playing in a band or I just hate stupid love songs considerably.

Anyway. Love already have a bad name. It is only further stink by peoples around us when they dissapoint us in the name of love. Or something to that effect.

So of all lamentations and watching the Bachelor series, I gotta say this have to be the shortest Bachelor relationship ever. I meant the episode had just ended last week. And they had broken up. It seems like they failed to ignite the sparks that we are unsure if we even see this during the Bachelor series stint. Gasp. Maybe Effi is right. He is gay in spite of this. He just want to go to Paris and lived in a chateau for a short while. That must be it.

So hurray to love and for peoples looking for it. It is just as easy to find and threw in it a mud and step on it for it to be dirtied. Am I feeling outraged that this couple split? No. It is to be expected. Love ain't a fairytale, after all. It is an everyday thing.
But lets not philosophised on it, again. I had done it to death already.

And you know something. Sometimes men are such arse. Some men, then. ( Or the barbarians will go and threw hatchet at me) They went all macho like , blowing smoke from their ciggies , thump each other back and howl with laughter over a glas of teh tariks. Then if it come that time when they get all insecure and tell that if not to their girlfriends or to the girls who are available over sms or YM. What? You gonna deny you never get insecure? Yeah right (sniggers can be heard from each corner of the earth). Lament lament on how worthless they feel, their friends do not care about them , that girl ignore them, life is hard, felt like killing self by driving car over the bridge or whatever.

We girls of course build with bigger estrogen so genetically somehow it is supposed to infuse us with more sympathy substance, will pat their ego, saying No No, the world loved you, we loved you, all natures are actually in rythmn being in love you. Something like that.

Then they got back their friends or girlfriends, then we are suddenly facing the days alone counting the bytes in and out of our computer due to sheer boredom. I know. I will married my computer.

Wait. Okay. Maybe that can or cannot be the case. But then, what about when we want to pour our inner beings. I can talk to the stray cats beyond my house and they will understand or at least look at me sympathetically. To them? Nah. That is now as I understand can be considered laughable. If they even took you seriously. If not, they will dismiss you. Or like Uh.. I know but I think it is better if you talk this over to someone else. Or just sigh.

Hey, I love you. You know that. I meant you uncomplicated beings. Girls and cats everywhere.

Flickering on again.

I am bored. I have a headache. I am a tad bit irritated by peoples today.

My stimix (streamyx) is back on this morning. Yeay. On Thursday it suddenly died on me. The connection in showing all fine and marvellous. Then suddenly, when I even tried to connect to even http://www.google.com, it came up with "The Page Cannot Be Displayed". I tried again. The computer shut itself and the light behind me flickered. Weird. Reminded me of my attempt to get the computer connected to modem last month at JB, and when I turn the modem on and off, the computer restarted itself. If I want to shut down the computer? No need to press on Shut Down. Just tap on the modem button, and the computer will turn itself off. Stupid computers kept on playing prank with me.
Not to mention I had somehow use the QuickClean and deleted the torrents file of all my currently downloading file. Blargh~ Stupid function. Even though I had chosen for it to ignore that particular files, it still managed to happily clean up my folder. I have to search and start it all over again.

I got so sick of it all in the weekend and since I am not that hot and bothered to get to the Internet, so I couldnt care less. Let somebody else called the Streamyx helpline and get all irritated. But the the bored level is unbelievable. So I managed to see one DVD of all the DVDs that had been bought and pinjam and curi from all this time. Not to mention my sister remarked, "Why are you suddenly lepaking watching TV ?" To which my other sister informed "There is no Internet to amuse her."

Yes. I must be a geek. An ultimate geek who's life revolves around the computer. Now that is just pathetic. Needs to find more hobbies to make life less pitiful.

Conclusion - Bachelor

I hadn't manage to download the latest episode yet. But I guess I will for my sister, who is hooked seeing it too. Ahh.. family shares more than just genes I guess.

Anyway.. The conclusion, Dr. McDreamy, I meant the Travis Stork Bachelor Season 8 chose the nearest girl he can access to which is Sarah. The girl who lived just half a mile from his house. Accessible, easy to date, no telephone bill expenses, convenient, an easy to maintain girlfriend while juggling a job as a Resident ER doctor.

I didn't mention Sarah before aight? Wholesome sweet girls that seems kinda like the perfect mother, perfect daughter, perfect niece, perfect teacher and friend. Bit perfect. I don't think she's that beautiful anyway. Just nice looking, pretty, girl next door. But make up can make anyone look beautiful. Hey, gave me an army of make up artist and stuffs, and they will transform a train wreck like me to a girl you can only dream about. Illlusion, baby. It is all just your eyes playing trick on you.

But I like Sarah because she is not all weepy and moony like Moana had become. Sobbing in the video saying how much she liked him. Hey, I can't promise I won't sob too if I were to tell a guy I like him, but its just too DRAMA for reality shows for me to stomach. But it is fun to watch or viewers would fall asleep. Sarah is the friendship first and you can talk about anything kinda girl. Nice. At last a guy who is not looking at boobs. Wait maybe she does have that too. (smack own head) Of course la, or she wouldnt be chosen in the first place.

Well, dunno la if the happy couple will stay together or not. The Bachelor word at the end, sounded like dating-first-i-wont-promise-anything-but-there-is-a-big-probability-i-will-dump-you. But I guess she will have an advantage if she will be dumped compare to other ordinary girls. More guys would notice her.

Hey , I did not post any weekly updates. First episode and last episode only.

Cats and Mess

At first this photo was meant for my IG story, but the mess is too much. So I opted not to, and in a whim decided to just post it here. Beca...

Nuffnang
