30 days of Book Meme

I want to do this. I looked at other people meme and many of them are so so good. And some I completely agree with and I can't continue reading the other memes until I'll finish or at least halfway finish with mine without agreeing and putting the same book on the list which defeats the fun fun fun part of it.

So Adek, Sue, Jane and whoever on here who still read my blog and love books, jom buattttt. I would love to read yours. ( I think Effi turned up his nose on meme. ). 

The only thing left is, whether to do it on Tumblr or Blogger. And I'll think I'll start on Monday for easier counting! And I am raking my brains on the Day 1: Best book you read last year. For the simple reason of I can't remember what books I read last year. 

Hence the importance of reviewing books after I finish em because my memory is like a leaky cauldron.  I also think I need to put separate tags on books review. And by Monday I'd looked through my books to ascertain which one I'll put on this list.

A Letter To For The 16 Year Old ME

This letter should find it way in to your hand around November aight, when you turned 16?

Fine. I don't believe in regrets pon and I do believe the good and the bad that comes in life mold us on who we are and who we befriended and try to be. So do what you set out to do cause you never deign to listen to advice pon kan? Dasar kepala batu gitu.

But, I think around this time, you are preparing to dump a guy because he was an arse right? I mean, helloooo... what kinda boyfriend mentioned that he raked up the phone bill because he is calling OTHER girl but he NEVER called you. Yeps, so dump his loserish ass. I support you in this decision and he left no dent in your life either. Believe me, you will keep on forgetting he used to be your boyfriend. But next time, keep the gifts from the ex boyfriends k? Macam best je tunjuk kat your husband later on for you to have your laughs out.

Also, try to be a little less bitchy, because I am beginning to be a mega bitch. But heck, I think it started even from early secondary school phase, so whatever la. Just be a little kinder to that weird akward big boned girl from the next dorm ok. You will regret for being unkind to others, no matter how heartless you looked. And you will feel the twinge of guilt later, not sooner.

Hmmmm. Around this time, SPM seems like million years away. I wish I could goad you to study harder, but I doubt you would listen. Sigh. But a little less sleep, daydreaming, main-main and a little more studying could probably make you feel less than a moron OK? Especially the science subjects. Don't just concentrate on History because it is more interesting.

There would be circumstances in life later that you wish you could change, if you insist or resist hard enough. Maybe, maybe. Maybe if the choices are different, there are life changing moments that I can't predict of. Maybe it would be for the good, maybe it would be for the bad. Who knows? After all, reality is not Sliding Doors. But wouldn't it be interesting if it is aight?

But let's not worry your 16 year old head on this... In the mean time, enjoy the cake that your loser soon-to-be ex boyfriend asked your friend to bake for you. Well, at least he got a few good points, better than some of your will-be boyfriends in the future. So maybe my last piece of advice, dump his ass, but be a little less bitchy about it k?

The Generation Y tag

1. They spend around RM300-RM500 a month on entertainment and leisure
Hoh. Kaya tul. I never keep track of my expenditures, but I am pretty sure it is around RM200 a month. Lebih sikit je mula la kena ikat perut time lunch.

2. Their love for shopping has earned them the label of "dream consumers"
Maybe maybe. But I am not too excited on shopping ever since this whole getting married business. Sekali sekala when the mood strikes eh.

3. On a good day, they hang out at designer coffee outlets and indulge in good food, which easily comes to RM15 per meal
My boss likes to pay for our coffee at Starbucks. He usually held meetings there, so 'designer' coffees for free! But I never really like coffee so I don't frequent this place. But I do like to indulge in good food occasionally and it does surpass RM15 per meal. (Helllo... nasi ayam for 2 pon dah lebih RM20 ok sekarang)

4. Many own the newest handphones, equipped with the latest technology. Doesn't matter if they are not technologically savvy enough to utilize all the functions; what is important is that they own something at par with what their peers have.
Not really. I just like the design of a phone. I never care about 3g ke, bluetooth ke, because honestly, I don't use it. So I choose the cutest phone with the most affordable price.

5. Two-thirds know the price of an iPod, but three-quarters have no idea what a carton of milk costs.
I know how much milk cost OK. And I do know somewhat the price of an Ipod too.

6. They have hundreds of illegally downloaded songs

7. One in 20 spends more than RM200 a month on mobile phone bills
Nope. I spent about RM30 - Rm50 per month. For prepaid. Yeah, people don't call me much nor I call them.

Hoh. 1 handphone pon asik tertinggal and rarely by my side. If 2? Ish ish ish.

9. Many do not read the newspapers, or watch the TV news
I like to read the Star on Sunday sebab ade cartoon strips and ruangan advise, hehehe. I watch news only when there are some things that piqued my interest such as watching the Taj terrorist attack live.

Ar? Ye ke? I don't think so. Though I do think sometimes I depend on my husband too much. Die la rajin nak service kereta and bayar insurance and whatsnot. Which remind me of my car insurance that I need to renew.

The last week of being called Cik

The wild bachelorette night turned out to be a staid event. Ala. Macam we are the type to get wasted and kissed some random guys on the street pon. (That would be cool, but bukan senang nak cari kissable random guys). The main thing was that the girls get together and had slumber late night talking about idiotic but occasionally some serious stuffs. Man. Getting older kinda sucks. Even trying to have fun seems to be such a chore.

This weekend will be the big day. As so many people reminded me.

It felt weird to get married. Life goes on smoothly. The sun will rise and shine. It occasionally rains. Only I would have a man in my life who would be responsible to gimme some lunch money. Hahaha!

Ugh, but selagi coding ni I can't do, selagi tu la I can't seems to focus on the wedding things. Dah malas keje. Nak cuti.

"Semua dah siap ke?"

A question often directed to me these past few weeks. That question make me panic taw. But I gotten decidedly calmer when people asked me that as time comes nearer. Insya Allah, if God willing, hope everything will turn out OK. There are something needs to be settle or tweak if you might, but nothing really dastardly turrible if its not there.

I will be missing my single life. I like my single life. Kalau boleh nak single jeeeeeee. With the occasional dating. Hehe. Tapi life is not suppose to stay the same. People are suppose to change, evolve but not necessarily improving ... but change none the less.

Well, seems like it had been some time yeps, when I last update. I can offer no excuse. I just don't feel particularly typey.

Oh... my weekend was spent on watching Angels and buying some things. And I guess trying to watch the series I acquired. So much to do, so little time. Even with so many things to watch, I am still trying to see how I can get myself a Felicity box set. And that 70s show. Huhuhu, and perhaps some collection boxsets of BBC period dramas? Heeeee.

Damn it. I feel like going back to Vietnam to just buy dvd box set. Its crazy cheap there. Here, we have to pay more than RM50 for a season. Over there, its less than RM150 for the whole series seasons. Usually around RM 120 or sometimes less. Depends on how many seasons are there, as the more they are, the higher the price as it only means there would be more DVDs.

What's more, they stored the whole season in 1 DVD only. Gile best OK. And in such a nice lovely compact case... See my Angel here.

So nipis one for the whole freaking series seasons (Season 1 - 5). I bought these box sets on my 2nd trip there. The first time I bought my series dvds in Vietnam, there is no slim box sets. Most of them are kinda like the one we can get in Malaysia. But still cheaper! And they gave you a box. Unlike here where...

Nak amik gamba pon cam tak bermaya je kaver camni

And Malaysia put themselves as the no 1 provider of pirated stuffs? Ptuiii! I am so tempted to buy a ticket to Ho Chi Minh for just buying DVDs. Sape nak join??

Tagged Raya pulak from Some and Kak Mel

Berapa pasang baju raya anda tahun ini dan kaler apakah?
Baju Raya tahun ni ade 2 - 1 is actually for the office, alang2 pakai je time raya. I like baju kurung. One is kain yg telah diberi oleh fiance's mom so buat je la. Nanti raye haji pakai kat sana. Both is baju kurung. Tidak bergitu gemar baju kebaya.

Apakah makanan raya tradisional kegemaran anda?
Sayur lodeh. Especially laden with sambal kacang and sambal sotong. Satay goreng mak adalah sangat best apabila dimakan bersama ketupat or nasik impit or even in sayur lodeh. Also Masak Lemak Perut adalah semestinye dimakan banyak2 with sayur lodeh or ketupat. Beriani my mom made for raya pon sangat best. Especially dhalca and ayam panggang. And acar rampai. Laksa johor where I would topped the laksa lavishly with sambal belacan. Lapaaaanyeeeee tatkala menaip ini. That is what my mom usually cook for the first and second raya and alllll is favorite la. There are a few other dishes too but kate favorite kan. Mana tak berat badan bertambah balik raya. Gilo.

Dulu ade soto and lemang. But dibeli or dibuat oleh arwah nenek and datuk. They are both gone now, so the raya food lessening. Sedih kan?

Apakah biskut raya kegemaran anda?
I used to like Bahulu. But not many places yang ade sedap. So dah kurang gemar. Tart nenas sangat suke. I also like ALL kuih raya at rumah Mak Nah (I am kinda vague on the exact relations). Almost all are homemade and very delicious. Adik beradik sume macam excited je bile pegi umah Mak Nah thinking of the biskut raya there. Bile balik dari situ, balang2 kueh raya rumah Mak Nah are either empty or almost empty. Gile mentekedarah and tak taw malu betul.

Berapa banyak duit raya anda dapat n spend untuk bagi kepada budak-budak?
Anak buah dapat lebey dr RM10, sometimes RM50 pon. Bergantung kepada kekayaan. Tahun ni sume decrease okeh. Makcik tadek duit. Kazen mazen either got RM10 or Rm5 depends how big and small they are. Yang lain2 tu RM2 cukup la kan. My mom, maids at the house tu tinggi sikit la dapat.

Fact 1:
Whenever anyone asked me on my preparation for my wedding... I feel an onslaught of a panic attack. I need to breathe deeply ... then I answered.

Fact 2:
I believe in a simple wedding. Simple food for consumption. A simple decoration. A simple dress. Basically it is just simple. A guy at a boutique kinda pissed me off when he disregard my request for a simple dress. He said "Saya memang respek la bride yang pakai lavish2 ni. Nanti kan ade guest yang lagi lebih dari pengantin, mesti pengantin menyesal". Erm.. I don't know. If I come to a wedding, my eyes is only for the lovely couple no matter how grand the guests looked.

Fact 3:
Its a fact well known that whatever the bride want, she rarely get after being offered suggestions and criticism from well meaning families, planners, friends and the whole legions of opinionated people.

Fact 4:
The many shades of white, pink and brown totally overcome me. I never realized how truly many type and shades of colors are there out in the world. I am afraid that my color combination would make the whole thing looked like a color blind set designer decorated Alice in Wonderland.

Fact 5:
I always, always get cold feet. There's a thousand questions running through my mind that I can't or afraid to answer.

Fact 6:
My wedding will be at 2 houses. The guests will 'makan-makan' at another house and the bride dais will be at another and will be separated by a drain and 2 fences. That doesn't make sense, does it. Let's just say... people are were perplexed when we used this 'concept' for my sisters' wedding.

Fact 7:
I hate photographs. Let me rephrase that. I hate photographs of me, meself, I. I feel like I look like a 'hag' :P . Which is why I try to look for the best photographer. Irregardless of the price. But still dread all those taking picture part.

Fact 8:
Everyday my feet are getting colder.



CHOOSE THE NEXT 8?

I don't feel like choosing the next 8. I was thinking to tag Shima to tell me what is her ultimate favorite fact about shoes, or Seri on the fact and fiction of dadih making, or Gohan on 8 fact on why you think Kame is so hot.

Oh you guys can still do that. By all means... treat the above paragraph as a tag request.

But I need to find something to warm my feet.

Edited: Oh Jannah... Haha. Tis is a simple post without pics. Seems a lot... but the thing is I couldn't dreg up any fact. As a lot of things are still TBD and YNS. (To Be Done & Yet Not Seen). Also I kinda get a panic attack typing this up and my feet are ice cold. So I looked into the post bit by bit.
