Birthday Shoutout

To My Husband. Happy 28th Birthday. 28th kan? Gah! That means I'LL BE 27 this year. Bah!

Anyway, brief post as well, as kira ni shoutout post je la yek.

Nothing special ongoing. Bought him a gift, which I will not be showing it to y'all cause that would be tacky. Hahahahaha. (Also aku malas nak amik gamba).

Treated him lunch at one of a restaurant nearby my office.

I think the restaurant name is Bisou. Bijoux is one of the branch? Or whatevs.

Had the most spiciest salad I ever tasted, ever. Seriously, my perut still bergelodak sebab pedas sangat. The pic above is my salad btw. Didn't take a picture of my husband food (he ordered dory fish with ginger rice), cause to be honest its not even worth it.

The restaurant? Beautiful interior. Quite expensive beverages (Ice lemon tea for RM10?) Taste so-so. I am not sure I want to frequent there again. Probably we did not order the signature dishes? *shrugs* A bit dissapointed actually. Takpe. Saturday to Alexis plak for some delish Laksa Sarawak.

Decided also to buy him a small cake. He don't really mind. It's me yang mahu kek itu actually. So I bought the small Black Forest cake from my favorite bakery to be brought home so everybody at home can also enjoy. ( Everybody love it except Abid. )

It looked as good as its taste.

So, again. Happy Birthday. Sempat lagi nak wish ni kan?

Yeah. He looked fairly ecstatic in potong that kek. And slightly creepy too. Hahaha. Sorry. I just can't resist some digs.

Curious Case of ... ?

There is a curious sight I found during lunch break earlier. After aimless wandering at Sogo, I decided to take the lift down to the supermarket area.

Getting into the lift I am slightly befuddled at the sight of a very smartly dressed lady in a kebaya asking us (in rather bad English) if we would like to go to "Ground" level. I mumbled something incomprehensible back. Never mind that she was speaking English badly, because even if she speak perfect Queen's English I would still fumbles my word. She was dressed to the 9 as if there is an annual dinner ongoing, complete with heavy makeup, overdone hair and an overpowering smell of perfume that threatened to mortally harm you if you stay in her vicinity too long. She's wearing a Sogo name tag and I wondered if she is a very helpful employee here.

I am even more curious to find out that her job is obviously the lift itself as before the lift door closes she stepped out for a while and somewhat wailed "Going down!" (okay, she 'said'... but it sounded more like wailing, honestly) and came back in the lift. Looking down, I am surprised to find that her demure kain kebaya had quite a long slit up to the higher part of the thigh, almost reaching the pelvic area. This slit is not the peekaboo type where you can see a glimpse of a thigh when a woman walk, type of slit. It is more of a gash long slit snaking up to show a half a thigh even when a woman just stand around slit. She's wearing a black silk stockings at least. Hmmmm.

At last I reached my floor and can scurries out before I ogled her some more. I think all the people in the lift are visibly relieved to get out of the overly perfumed elevator. At least she seems pretty cool enough just stared at the spot above my head when the people in the lift including moi are gawking at her. I can't help it ok.

Oh, on Saturday I finally got a book that I had been hunting for quite a while but it went suspiciously MIA in all the bookstores I think to look at.

It was this book.

Noticed the book about a year or 2 back at Kino when I considered to buy it but bought the Memory Keeper's Daughter instead. Kekonon nak baca deep stuffs. Bah! Depressing stuff it turned out to be. Which is why now I am staying the hell away from Jodi Picoult.

Anyway back to the book, from the synopsis it sounds like Indiana Jones meet Dan Brown. Hmmm. Not to mention I have an unhealthy obsession with the 7 Ancient Wonder of the Worlds. So I decided around this year, I will buy the book. But alas, I couldn't find it. Too annoying.

Imagine my delight when I found the book during my daily browse on online book shopping. At RM24. Saving myself around RM8 if bought at its retail price. Kewlness! Happy! Had I read it yet? No. My husband is currently engrossed in the book. Quite a curious sight actually. I never see him pick up a book (that don't involve photography or boring things such as engineering or study stuffs) before.

"Is it any good?" I asked him excitedly.

"Bolehlah". He answered nonchalantly. Gah!

And my heart goes dup dup dup...

Say, if you are married. Do you get a free pass on talking about sex?

My husband will sit up when he will be reading this. Nah. I am not talking about you okeh...

I had a pretty good 'sexy' dream in the weekend. It literally wakened me up with a smile. My husband was a bit suspicious on who the perpetrator is as I am not telling ok. It does involved someone I know. Sadly it is not James McAvoy (that was his first guess) Why, McAvoy? Why not? The thing is, when you had this type of dream, it always involve someone unexpected. Like whoa! I never like him or think about him in 'that' way, but in your dream he's the hero, you are the heroine. Totally weird. I would totally blush when I will see or think about him in the next few days. I will get over it, it is only a dream. *shrugs*

And last night I dreamt I was Blake Lively. Wahahaha! Tak nak kalah okeh. Blake Lively terus. I know I was her because in my dream I was dancing in my underwear in front of the mirror and I was Blake! Of course. If it was my own self in front of the mirror in my undies, that dream would turn into nightmare and I would wake up screaming! Also lepas tu my boyfriend is Hrithik Roshan. Ye. Sila la gelak guling-guling. Kenapakah mimpi aku mesti retarded macam tuh.

Oh, I still dreamt about zombies and aliens and vampires and ghoulies. But nowadays it is also peppered with insane dreams as well. That is fine. Maybe one day McAvoy or McGregor would care to drop in for some very special appearance in one of those insane dreams. Bliss~

And the title of the blog? I was feeling a tad bit like that for the past few days. I can describe it as 'achingly beating'. Not aching as in physical pain though. Nothing to it. It will come to pass.

Can't wait for the end of the week and it is just Monday!

Things are all messed up

Are they?

Heh. Random ramblings commence!

It's a Friday. Another weekend yet passes me by. I felt yet like another useless human being, slugging through the week without any clear goals or objectives what I want in life or if I even contribute anything to whatever.

But hey... it's normal right? Right? Someone, come and be all agreeable with me!

You know I think I have mentioned it a coupla puluh2 time that I kinda am through of being all personal and feelings shmeelings in this blog. Yet sometimes, you feel like you want to burst with keeping sane and quiet and just let all expletives, words, torrents of raw emotions being washed out of the system and let it explode all over the blog.

Then someone would get insulted or be angered. Someone would be hurt. Another would whispered. People would laugh. Or even worse, pitied me. Ugh.

Sooo feelings. Yes. I hav it. Don't think because I'm all quiet in the emotions arena in a while, doesn't mean that there are no shits stirring (atau adakah itu sembelit?).

I read in a book where an author wrote that the gods do not like it when mere mortals are in perfect happiness, thus the happiness would be taken away. I may not agree on her theory of gods, but I do agree on the question of perfect happiness. There were times when I thought I was sublimely happy. A happiness that make you all giddy and you view the world in rose tinted color (but ain't that the color of rage?). But that kind of happiness always goes awry. People get hurt, heartbroken, sad. You know, the usual. And those who know me, knew.

So when someone mentioned that their joy are boundless, my incredibly negative thoughts would be, "Then when would it be awry?". Yeah, I am not such a comfortable joy-sharer eh?

But on my way to lunch just now, right in front of me is a father. Holding a daughter in his arm and the other hand leading a severely austistic boy of about 10 year of age. Talking lovingly to him on where they would go.

What right do I have to be so unhappy or negative about things then?

Gah! Why so serious on a Friday. Have a lolcatz!

Captioned

Fasha was a bit pyschotic yesterday. Banging herself against door and running from room to room like mad. Weird. I felt like kicking her ass. But she was cowering when the rain comes pouring down complete with thunders and lightning and redeemed herself to us by snuggling quietly next to me on the bed. At 5 am. Then she started to be annoying by squashing me on my nose to get to my hands so that she can lick it or nip it a bit as a sign "I wanna go potty now! Can you puhleezz lemme out of the room?"

I had been waiting for this bread at my favorite (can also be read as nearest ) bakery. Chicken Potato bread, which the sign said filled with chicken and potatoes with mayonnaise sauce. Every time I want it, it's not available. When it is available, I had a hankering for something else. I wonder if they make it every other day. It looks much more nicer than it taste though. And I have to get to the middle of the bun to finally get the burst of combined taste of potatoes, chicken and mayonnaise with a hint of black pepper in it. Glad though I finally bought it. Then I would not have to think, "Is it nice?" anymore.

Speaking of food. Whenever I walk around KLCC, I always take a glimpse at The Lawn menu. Wonderingly thinking if it is delish. Or just wanna plain try it out. Yeah, I like eating. Sue me. Took out the above breakfast set. My husband one (English breakfast) is OK enough for the price. Mine (pancakes), I think it is even more cost saving if I made it myself. Baik lagi makan lontong with sambal for breakfast di Melawati yek?

But I would be content to have breakfast here (Leo's AEON AU2) just for the taste of its milk tea alone.

Uh-huh

Annoying that come Monday, I will always seems to have problem with the connection at office. I have no idea why my computer seems to have this Monday Blues. It annoyed the hell outta me, since I can't open a few things using an alternative connection. Tambah lagi dengan the factor it is a Monday, it just make me feel blah.

Oh yes, on Friday manage to catch a viewing of He's Just Not That Into You. I haven't watched yet Confessions of a Shopaholic and was also insulted that they changed British Becky to an American one, so I just don't feel like watching it yar. Yes, yes the book is always different from the movie, but sue me. I always like the book version more. Maybe I will watch it later.

Anyway, He's Just Not That Into You. I pulled along my husband to watch it. He asked me several times what is it about. I have no idea actually but from the all star ensembles, I just said it is kinda like "Love Actually" where there are different short story intermittently going on with the characters actually entertwined (story wise) with each other.

We got the Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Alex (Justin Long) story. This is the sweetest one of all. IMHO. My husband declared Gigi is sweet.

We got the Jen Aniston and Ben Affleck story, which is also kinda sweet.

Also I kept on thinking how more and more Jennifer Connelly beginning to look like Demi Moore. And how harsh and old she looks. It does suits her character though in the movie. I also think that Scarlett Johansson needs to wear a bra pronto. Anyway, it was a fun movie. People were laughing.

My favorite parts are when they did what the earlier seasons of SATC used to do, like showing people on the streets kekonon being Q&A on "Why does a man do not call" or "How does your ex break up with you". It was fun. People were laughing especially on this one line, on how a man is actually bullshitting you when he said this line "I don't deserve you. You deserve someone much better" when he wants to break up with you. There are even a few claps in the cinema, ok. Heck, I guess 70% of the people watching the movie that night had received that line. Including moi. Hahaha. And it is bullshit. So, HA!

So, He's Not That Into You. Wildly recommended!

Bid-bid First Birthday

Note: Please do not mind the insane allignment and layout of the pics. I just couldn't give a damn.

Post with pics.

Last weekend buat la sikit-sikit makan-makan. This post actually specifically for the eyes of a family yang jauh kat Middle East sana tuh, sila lah lihat gamba yang di bawah ini bersama captions2.

The makan-makan is adalah sempena Abid cengeng dah capai 1 tahun.

The family or my mom specifically decided to whip out fantastic cookings such as Nasi Tomato with Kurma Daging and Ayam Merah with Acar Timun, Makaroni Goreng and Soto. (Lapar balik bile type). Also several kueh mueh and kek for pencuci mulut.

Abg Yin tekun memotong nenas for the acar. Did I tell you I L.O.V.E acar timun intensely. I can eat that stuff alone with rice and be perfectly happy but chose not to as people might view me weird. Or cheap.

While preparing, Abid excited main belon. Die duk berguling-guling atas belon ituh. Tak jugak belon tu pecah.

Afterwards, he had been cleaned up a bit and pakai baju molek sikit. Kasik nampak ensem untuk berjumpa chicks at party okeh. Letak je kat lantai kembali mengeluarkan belon-belon dari basket.

Itu die. Caught! Actually 2 people are actually taking pictures of the same scenes. The less prettier one of the pic is of course moi punyer.
Gamba ni blurry la.

And of course the point of a birthday party, is that there should be cake! Let us eat cake! Okey. Chocolate kek with unhealthy amount of colorful icing that is simply delish. I love the cake. And it was just about enough for everybody. Termasuk la Seri yang aku perasan amik 3rd helping OK. Hahaha!

At first glance I thought the "Express" is Espresso.

Below pics are of some of the guests that came. There were loads. Some sempat disnap. Some not. But kira nice jugak la they make the time to come. Thanks y'all. You know who you are.

The spread. The dishes is like what I mentioned earlier. Not forgetting Firdaus telah membawa Sata (delish!), and Wawa buat extra lengkong. Not pictured, is the makaroni goreng. Dah habis by this time, sangat lah laku. This pic is taken bile da petang-petang sikit pon.

Some of the random pics of the majlis. The kids were having fun enough time. Fasha relished the attention. She tidak malu-malu mahupon memalukan tuan die. Dan Abid was neglected at his own party dan opted to bermain di bawah kerusi. ( He was also seen menghisap selipar jiran sebelah )

Afterwards presents opening session. Gamba last tu muka Bid2 sudah sangat mengantuk. He liked the truck best. Penuh lego besar-besar tu dengan air liur die.
Hoh. So that's it. So Akak and Alisha, more of the pic Some will uploadkan dalam my Facebook. Hehe.

Huh... Really tiring posting and somewhat editing all those pics. Gah! Now I know why those self absorbed cam whoring blogs are always lacking in words. It takes sheer willpower to post up all those pic of yourself.

Dengan itu saya akan habiskan Abid-centric post ini with moar picture of himself looking into his pembalut hadiah.

p/s: Amcam Dilla. Ada calon untuk jadi belog makcik tak? Hahaha.

Filler Post Masquerading as Random Ramblings

A retarded saying from a manga state
"...good shoes will take you to a nice place."
Huh... True enough to an extent if you wear crappy shoes, you will not be enjoying your journey much less your destination with blistered heels/toes. But not in mood to be almost philosophical. The shoes above are a good enough shoes though. Used to have a strap to it but one of the strap had 'putus'. Still wearable I thought, so *snip* *snip* off the straps go.

Entri yang Materialistik

Anyway... I think my blog muse had now migrated herself to the stars realm and beyond. Therefore my blog post for now will be laden with pictures of various stuffs with the customary texts to balance it out. Savvy?

Anyway... let start. Okeh. My husband is now at home! Yeay! Sudah ade bedmate. Fasha tak kira. He came back with his bags filled with chocolates. Our house is now over-choc-full.

Indecent the amount of chocolates, us family can consume. And our favorite is the Cote d'Or. Incredibly nutty and delish. Some of it are going to be distribute among families and offices.

Chocolates are not the only thing my husband brought back from there. He bought me a new phone too. Wooots! An LG Cookie!

It's a fine phone for me. Nice graphic. A touch phone, kinda like a PDA but do not have the full range of a PDA. The sound is OK, test out camera is fine enough. but not too sharp. The applications is pretty easy and simple to navigate to. Do not have wi-fi nor 3G, but DiGi do not offer those and we are using the Data Plan when we need to go to mobile internet-ing. And this phone browser is pretty OK when I want to go to some my favorite sites or update my Facebook status.

I can now mo-blog! So excited! A bit slow here in catching up with tech. Heh. But after a certain age, I think you just do with whatever you have and you can't spend all your money in playing catch up with all thing latest and trendy eh. However the battery had now run out because I think we had been tinkering with the phone a little bit too much. Though I blame my husband on that cause whenever I leave him with my phone, I found him adjusting some settings or navigating through or playing around with the games in the phone. He is far more excited in testing out this new phone than I am.

Also, I manage to win myself some goodies bag by joining an online contest for the movie "Underworld 3". Yeah, kinda a long time back. But just received news last week that my entry won. It was a kind of essay-writing thingies (or more like slogans) on "What would I do if I am a vampire/werewolves?". Wrote some stuffs. Win some stuffs! Goodies! The picture below are some of the stuffs that I won.

The Bedtime Stories are an added bonus to the goodies bag. There is a Bedtime Stories nightlight which I gave to my nephew. The really nice keychain had been quickly taken up by my brother, the letter opener had been taken by husband, the pair of Underworld shot glass at the moment is next to the others shot glasses on the shelf. The T-Shirt is mine as so the notebook. There is another prize which is a voucher for free membership at a gym. But it had to be forfeited as the gym clubs is so far away and the end date for the voucher to be redeemed is yesterday (which is the same day as when I went to pick up the prize. WTF right?). Shame, really. I do not mind giving it up to others as I don't go to the gym, (which is why I am not really upset in forfeiting the voucher) but the kiasuness in me feels really blah that it have to go to waste like that. Oh well! At least got other goodies bag! And other contests to win! Heh...

Oh and I dipped just my toes in the deep, deep pool of online shopping and bought myself a second hand book. The book arrived yesterday.

Love it. The price is around RM12 inclusive postage, so it is quite a steal. The book a bit yellowed and dotted at the front though but I don't mind as much.

Yeah, it is a children's book but didn't I said before I love reading and collecting children's books? Haven't read it yet as there is a long list of books waiting to be read yet. Kumpul dahulu... I guess I feel safer in buying books online cause I know the retail price outside, and basically you do not have to worry if it do not fit you. The person who sold me the book is also very nice which make me look forward in buying books from her again in the future.

Ok. I think the post had gone on long enough. Dinner time!

Little bits of here and there

Ugh, Monday here.

Tapi there's only 2 people including moi in this training room today. Usually there are about 11 people. Half the people are in temporary night shift, another suku, on leave, the other suku is ere writing a post, pollutinz ur eyez!!! (Sorry, am currently browsing LOLCATS and getting carried away).

Okeh recapping a few things on weekend.

Oh yes, last weekend manage to get this!

Excellent, aight! Read a bit and will continue after sudah dibalut. Really enjoyed Vol 2. Can't wait to read Vol. 3 and so on. Though like a noob at graphic novels said (can't remember her name), MUST STOP SELF FROM JUST QUICKLY READING TEXTS BUT SLOWLY ENJOYING THE ARTWORK.

On Sunday lunch plak, telah menjamu food prepared by chef dari Carcosa. Hehe! Mekja did a little mini housewarming gathering at her new home and her husband who's a chef la memasak for us. Sedap? Mestilah sedap. Complete with dessert also okeh. Thanks mek. Lain kali buat lagi. Heh!

What else? Oh. My husband coming back from Labuan today after been gone for a week? 2 weeks? But Yeay! Laden with chocs. But the chocolates before this tak habis lagi. I am getting almost sick of chocolates actually. This is his last trip there however, so these are the last batch of cheap imported chocolates we could get in a while then.

And one last thing. Finally finished with watching Angel Season 4. Now in Season 5 and we have Spike! Blondie Bear! Did I tell you I just love James Marsters. (Not loving him so much in Dragonball okeh).

So wrapping up this recap of a weekend or whatevs and will be posting tomorrow. I think...

Good day, mate.

Don't Let the Cat Out of the Bag

Sekali lagi Fasha menjadi model unggul blog ini.

Husband bertanya "You tak nak letak gamba Fasha dah baik dalam belog you?"

Nah. Ni die Fasha. She likes plastic bags a lot. A problem when I am cleaning up my room and in need of a huge ass plastic garbage bag to throw away trash when your cat keeps wanting to dart in and out of your garbage bag. So I gave her another plastic bag for her entertainment.

A plastic fix and she's a happy kitty. Note that there is no longer a collar adorning her neck. We took it off last week and she spent the whole hour grooming and licking herself to oblivions.

Today also is this dude birthday.

Most recent yet blurred photo of the little dude.

You are 1! Yeay!

I am going out in a while to buy him a cake though the cake would mostly be enjoyed by his aunties, uncle and parents.

Ranted List Make Simplified

  • I get irrationally angry when there's a group of people in front of me are walking slowly, loudly talking and laughing. I will be thinking "Hurry up or don't move in clusters and block other people's way!!!"

  • I get irrationally irritated when someone sending a screenshots through email or IM using .bmp files. I will be thinking "Are you that lazy to even change the file format".

  • I get irrationally irritated when somebody put a very loud and long ringtone for their incoming SMS for their phone.

  • I get irrationally angry when people ignored my message or calls. But I do that all the time too.

  • I get irrationally angry when I had been standing a while in front of a food stall like a moron while the shop assistants do not care to ask or 'layan' a potential customer but busying themselves with preparing food or walking around aimlessly. I will then walk away and furiously be thinking "Next, birds will be flying smack right into my head and fly away; confusedly wondering what the heck they just smashed into".

  • I get mildly irritated at people who kept on sending me video/Youtube attachments or links. I do not have the patience to wait to download the damn files or waiting it to load. Friends had now learnt it's useless sending those to me. I ignored it. So to others, take heed.

  • I get irrationally angry at those stupid people who keep on calling for us to take up offers to join their privileged/celebrity/exclusive cards thingies. I used to be polite but gave up because honestly, they are not being polite in the first place by obtaining people private phone number and cold calling them.

p/s: So itu je la kut. To be continued when the mood or needs strike.

Food Diaries: JB

Went back to JB last weekend. Sahaja balik bersantai dan makan-makan.

If balik JB my mom will cook up a storm with sajian-sajian seperti rojak, ketam masak lemak, sambal udang, nasi tomato dan pelbagai lagi la. Berat jua akan naik. Tsk.

Also there are a few favorite places that I like to frequent to get my fix on certain food yang hanya ada di JB. Or more like aku rase paling sedap kat situ la. Among the places yang sempat dikunjungi or food yang sempat disantap are as below shown in pics.

The femes goreng pisang at Galeri Mawar. (Kim Florist tu tadek kena mengena). The goreng pisang is being sold at the pondok biru ituh. Nowadays there are also some chairs and tables setup just outside the pondok for people to enjoy their plate of goreng pisang with their favorite drinks ala-ala al fresco.

I think it was famous because the Sultanah like to singgah there to get her goreng pisang fix. It was good la. But not as good as the goreng pisang at the juction to Batu Gajah tu (dekat Tronoh). If that goreng pisang is combine with kuah cili kicap ... sangat best.

Best eaten while being accompanied with a book and teh ais. Heh. Sheema's book to be exact. Takpe Sheema, buku itu sudah dibalut.

At first I thought I would take a pass on the yong tau fu then my husband sound "Nanti bile dah balik KL bising-bising cakap tak bawak gi makan yong tau fu". Wahaha. So we went to Kampung Melayu and was delighted to find that maseh ade banyak lagi. Sangat suke.

ABC Ceklat. Wow wheee! Tapi best jika dikongsi as was too full. Both of us didn't manage to habiskan the ABC. So when we came back dari melantak ABC and yong tau fu adalah sangat kenyang.

Itu je la yang sempat di-snap. The others, makan home cooked meal sahaja.

Other than eating, manage to also catch the movie Dragonball at the Cathay Cineplex. Kinda blah! My viewing pleasure was also diminished by a person sitting in front where kepala die telah memblock 1/4 of my view of the screen. Also there was this obnoxious girl who keeps on giggling and mentioning to her boyfriend of all the stuffs that is also in the comic. Ugh, so you read the comics. So does half of the viewers in the cinema. I don't hear them mentioning it out aloud every 5 minutes. Tolonglah sepak diri sendiri if you are these type of person when watching a movie. Jika mahu berbincang, just wait after the movie and keluarkan all of your knowledge at makan-makan sessions.

All these stuffs just make you feel like buying pirated DVDs je ok. Sakit hati.

What tamadun?

I was hopping and surfing through MSN webs when my eye caught the below headline under a Science page. Wah wheee! Malaysians archaelogical finds highlighted in MSN.

So baca dulu kalau rajin. Saya sambung selepas quote ini.

Malaysian dig reveals ancients were high-tech
Uncovered remnants of an iron smelt dating back some 1,700 years

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Excavations at a site in northern Malaysia have uncovered the remnants of an iron smelt dating back to the third or fourth century A.D., a find that shows the area's early people were more advanced than previously thought, an archaeologist said Friday.

Parts of a furnace used to heat iron and a structure believed to be a house or storage area were found in northern Kedah state, an area that was once home to the Bujang Valley people, said Mokhtar Saidin, the director of the Center for Archaeological Research Malaysia at the University of Science Malaysia. He is in charge of the excavation.

He said a lab in Florida carbon dated some of the material taken from the ancient site and found the sample was about 1,700 years old. He said the margin of error for the test was 40 years.

"This result ... really shows that the Bujang Valley people during that time were very high-tech," Mokhtar said.

Mokhtar said archeologists found iron rods, debris and a nozzle to pump air inside the furnace. They also discovered beads, copper bracelets and pottery at the site.

He said the findings were "totally different" from earlier discoveries of temples in the area, which did not reveal much about the daily life and commerce in the area.

Other than the Hindu and Buddhist temples that have been uncovered, little is known about the people of the Bujang Valley. There is even debate over whether they were an actual civilization.

Harry Truman Simanjuntak, a researcher at the National Research Center of Archaeology in Jakarta who was not involved in the dig, said the dating of the iron smelt to the third or fourth century appears reasonable.

But he cautioned that more evidence must be unearthed before concluding the Bunjang Valley people were an actual civilization, defined by complex hierarchical social and other structures.

"It's too early to say it is a civilization," he said.

Mokhtar argues the Bujang people are a civilization because temples imply a social structure.

Mokhtar said archeologists still had to excavate about 30 other mounds, which were mapped out in a 2007 survey of the area. He said he expected work on the two current sites to take three more months. After that another two mounds may be excavated this year.

Ok. First of all this is all very Zahi Hawass to me. With the highlighted high tech headline news, I am assuming finds kinda like Baghdad Batteries discovery proportions. That you can say high tech. But the discovery of iron smelts which is when the Iron Age in India (I am putting my benchmark there) had already passed and go around 200BC and 200AD which well placed the 1700 years ago marks like... so-so la kan. Like the cautious Jakarta researcher said. Reasonable.

Of course I am not well versed in the ways of Bujang Valley histories and archaelogicals 'thingamajits'. So maybe that is a big thing in SE Asia? But if the people from Bujang Valley come or their cultural and religious views originates from India, then it would not be too far to assume that knowledge of iron used also travels here la kan.

Though I am also very amused when the Indonesian researcher asking the Malaysia's archaelogy director to not reach to a hasty conclusion that Bujang Valley can be constitute as a civilization.

Kinda like

" Eh so you got Bujang Valley and found iron. Big deals. Not a real civilization pon ok. Bukan macam Majapahit atau Srivijaya yang gah itu. "

And the Malaysia goes like

" Yes, it is!"

But like I said. Aku hanya noobs who only have a glimmer of interest in archaelogy. What do I know on the discovery of iron that date back to 1700 years ago or if Lembah Bujang is really a tamadun. Come to think of it I am kinda hazy if during History secondary schools, did the textbooks refer to it as tamadun or not.

Fasha's Tail

This is Fasha

She had been brought to the vet to be spayed.

Bile balik die terkinja-kinja mencari pasir (cat litter sand) to do the no. 1. She is a well brought up cat who demanded her own toilet to do her business.

However she had been notti because she kept on licking her stitches so haruslah dikolar.

Sorry la Fasha, this is only for a while yek.

So jangan depressed-depressed ye.

Sunday Dissapointment

Am at work! Working on a public holiday.

No biggies really. As I would be getting my holiday 'ganti' on Friday. So Hello JB and delicious Yong Tau Fu!

Yesterday went to Amcorp Mall. Well actually, the real reason is for my husband (yes, he is now back from Labuan for a while) to teach me the routes to PJ area and Amcorp Mall. So the next time if there is a need to go there, I can drive myself without the service of my trusty driver.

So for a change, he was the passenger and I am the driver. As I need to drive my way there to not be lost in the future. Maps and directions don't work for me. I am hopeless with them. So kena la drive there and alang-alang tu singgah la Amcorp Mall to get my books fix at Book Xcess.

Boy, was I dissapointed. I was really hoping to get my hands into Holly Denham's book (the one from www.hollysinbox.com ) but its out of stock. I want to get my hands into Phillipa Gregory princesses and queens historical fictions book. Most of them are out of stocks too. There is also no Matthew Reilly's books. Gah! So there I am turribly dissapointed and my eyes then alighted on Georgette Heyer books! Wooots! 17.90 for one of Ms Heyer Regency Romance book! It cost RM40++ at Kinokuniya, ok. That is a whole lot of bargain!

But I am still raging that Holly's Inbox is not available. That means Kinokuniya. I also want to buy Persepolis really bad. And that cost a lot. Gah!

I may change my mind about the Watchmen comic. Like the movie. Still it didn't compel me enough to read the comic. Tho I had now just learnt that there is a reference to Kitty Genovese story that makes me interested enough to take a peek as I used to seethe reading about that case.

Up to a point

Yesterday morning, I was about to go to work. I was then at the traffic light just opposite my workplace waiting to cross the road and saw this old man pushing his wheelchair next to me. He was dressed in baju Melayu and his left leg is bandaged heavily. One of the little wheel on his wheelchair is kinda senget, so it took a considerable effort for him to push it forward.

It was 9.35 am. Late for work as usual. LOL.

Anyway, trying to not let all those hours long ago watching TV Pendidikan not go to waste, I offered to help the pakcik and pushed his wheelchair across the road. You know, so I wouldn't be traumatised when the light goes RED and cars honking or swerving around trying to not hit him.

When I was pushing the wheelchair I noticed that the bandage was dirty, from dragging his bandaged feet on the road or dirtied floor I think. His dress was dishevelled. He had the appearance and the smell of someone who had not bathe for a day or two. I swallowed my disgust and pushed him onwards.

After I pushed him across the road, he kept on pointing onwards. Obviously he wanted me to go on pushing his wheelchair. Maybe it is a relief for him finding somebody that can give him a break. I obliged and pushed him on while inwardly sighing that I am going to be more late to work. I kept on asking him where he wants to go, but his speech is hard to understand. He kept on pointing forward indicating that I should pushed him further onwards.

After a while I realized this is getting ridiculous. Frankly, I need to get to work as I had a lot of work to get started in and I was late. Also, I am beginning to wonder if the pakcik is going to ask me to keep on pushing him to whatever faraway destination he wants to head to. I asked him "Jauhnye pakcik nak pegi..." (Dalam hati daku berkata "Hint dah bagi dah la tu kan untuk pakcik cakap... tidak mengapa la nak, sampai sini saja.. "), he replied pitifully "Nak buat camne". And honest to God. That is the only thing I understood from him even though he was babbling non stop about taxi, and jalan and God knows what else.

About 10 minutes passed and I feel like being taken advantage of. There should be a clause in helping people! Damn you, TV Pendidikan for not showing what to do when a schoolboy who feel the need to help the helpless at the moment also needs to catch his last bus home or are late for school! Would the boy risked his last ride home and face walking kilometres away! Would he risked helping others when he know the punishment for datang lambat akan dirotan at assembly! Oh! How would he choose?

Though my options are not so direlah. Aku saje je nak drama lebih. But I am itching to get away because frankly the smell is beginning to bother me. And the wheelchair handle feels so melekit2 and icky. I kept on wishing I can go to the toilet and to scrub my hands clean with soap. Then I realized that he would keep on asking me to continue to push him on and frankly my revulsion coupled with the fact that I am already late to work wins through my sympathy and feelings of being a good citizen. Yes. Personal interest for the wins!

I stopped a while and said that I can only push him up just further up and I need to get back. So then I left and flees the scene without looking back! I did hope that another quite free good natured citizen would continue from there onwards and pushed his wheelchair to wherever his heart desire to. Sorrylah pakcik, saya dah lambat.

I did feel guilty for feeling repulsed by the pakcik personal hygiene and overall smells and also for just leaving him to push his own wheelchair. Guess I am just as selfish as any other people. Lepas tu berangan nak join Peace Corps la kan? And my mom wants me to be a nurse? Huhuhu... But... What would you have done? Would you continue onwards eh?

Rumah Patung

So now I had watched 3 episodes of Dollhouse.

So far so good I say.

Okay, for those not in the know. A little summary. Dollhouse is a new series from Joss Whedon (who created series like Firefly, Buffy and Angel). Its about an organization providing 'specialized' agents to clients who requires certain requests. These agents (called Actives) will be given various personalities and skills necessary to complete their assignments. After their assignments had been done, their personality, skills and memories of their assignments will be wiped clean. So the agents themselves when not in their assignments mode, is just a blank slate., escribed as innocent children walking around. (The Island clones come to mind when I heard it). Here, Eliza Dushku character is Echo.

The pilot episode was a bit underwhelming. You kinda goes like "Hmmmmm. Ok". The first eps deals with a distraught father whose daughter was kidnapped. So he hired one of this Actives (of course its Eliza Dushku) as a negotiator. The stories and all seems OK. But I was kinda pissed when the father kept on pushing the Actives and why should they be good enough, what is their emotional drive to be a negotiator. Gah! Kalo you keep on questionings, why not just pay for a real negotiators.

The 2nd episode was badass. It was a pretty thrilling episode. Love it. Reminds me a bit of "Wrong Turn". (A movie about cannibalistic family that hunts down E.D and friends). This episode supposedly was to be the pilot. But they were worried people might not totally understand the whole concept of Actives so they remake the pilot and this episode is shoved to number 2. Though it was a bit confusing trying to keep up with the characters and what they do or suppose to do, I have to say that this episode is actually far better served for a pilot.

The third episode is where Echo have to be a sort of bodyguard to a pop star singer. The weakest episode of the three, but it have one of the few best moments and really surprising revelation here. And I love it when a series had a totally "OMG that's what?" moments. Not many shows manage to do this convincingly.

The show is a bit shaky I'll say. But so far it is far better than a few new series these seasons. (This season is a pretty bad seasons for new series). A few of flawed writings. Like they set up an idea but it did not manage to pull through. And I am still waiting for Eliza Dushku to widen her range a bit than just badass mode. Her negotiator role is OK at best. However, I love the idea behind this show. So far the show is a procedural show, but I think it is in the stage of finding its footing. Just like Buffy did!

I do hope they would shown other Actives in their assignments. It would provide some variety to the show a bit.

Macam biasa, I will keep on watching until the end or its premature end. Whichever come first.

p/s: I love Boyd! (He is Echo's handler/bodyguard)

Super Unmotivated

That's because its a Friday. Kepala cam berpinar. This maybe due to a heavy lunch I had. Maybe the last heavy lunch I will have for weeks.

I started writing this in point but the paragraph looks retarded so make it like a highlighted points. Woots!

Toll
Toll for AKLEH had risen 50sen which sucks. I depends on AKLEH quite heavily. "Its only a jalan alternatif". Not when taking the other road would increase my on the road time to more than 1 hour.
Edited: Oh tidak jadi. Yeay!

Fashion
Fashion faux paus for women wearing heels. Price tag underneath your shoes. Peeled it off altogether. Not just the price bits.

Thinking of making a kebaya. Money is a problem. As it always is.

Another fashion faux paus for women. Blemished legs. Wear pantyhose when wearing a skirt.

I wondered why some women are afraid of colours. One even kinda weirdly asked me if I would wear a bright red blouse. I would. And experiment with colours la girls. We are still young. (Walaupon other people might indicate otherwise :)

Food
Tried Malaya Straits Kopitiam. Its Honey Lemon Juice is weird. Do not think will be frequenting the place again.

Internet
I am enjoying online trivia quizzes from Facebook and Freerice.com. Try the FreeRice.com. Click your boredom away for a good cause.

Books
I now have Fables Book 2. Yet to read it. Waiting untuk dibalut molek2.

Tah hape
Mix.FM is running the lie detector test again. This time for celebrities. Anyone who are able to convince celebrities to take the test win RM3k. Anyone interested? As much I love gossip, I don't have any celebrities I would like to grill questions. But perhaps Natasha Hudson?

Have to work overtime today. Kenapakah mesti overtime apabila aku tak makan lunch. Kepala jadi weng okehs.

*shrugs*

Tidak mengapa kerna ade orang dah order 5 Dominoes Pizza. Woootsss!

Eh. I thought that I didn't want to comment much on the Oscars but I watched the Star Movies Red Carpet moments and I just can't NOT comment. This is the Star Movies reporter y'all so the one who is not important enough to get past the velvet rope but have to make do by reporting it just on the sideline.

So that is gonna be tough. I don't relish his jobs. If Seacrest who is walking on the Red Carpet pon kena dissed by Brangelina, apatah lagi these reporters yang tak dikenali. Although I cringed when the reporter calls to Robert Downey Jr was unheeded by the Iron Man who was then answering questions to the journalist next to him, I have to chuckle when Fred Willard swooped in and said " Robert won't talk to you! But I will!" . Heh... And no. I don't think I know exactly who is Fred Willard but he have a mighty familiar face so IMDB him to get the answer where you might had seen him before!

Much love for Taraji P. Henson for being so enthusiastic in every damn interview no matter who's interviewing (I made mental note to watch Benjamin Button for her then and there). This of course greatly contrast with Amy Adams who kept on looking at her side or her back and was very distracted when interviewed. To be fair though, the Star Movies reporter does seems to ask rather idiotic questions (but still way better than Seacrest). However Amy Adams was much more gracious with Tim Gunn.

Ho hum.

And I have no idea what to type next. Seems to have a bit of a blogger's block. Huh. This can also be due to being somewhat busy and frozen at work and just lazing around doing any other things that you might do any other day too. Being frozen might largely account for the lack of updates. When it gets to cold, all you really want is to hide your numb fingers away from the air-cond ok.

Oh sigh. Then laters I guess.

Ho hurmph Monday

Oscar Fevers all around. Don't feel like commenting on a whole lot of it. I am only excited that The Duchess does deserved its Best Costume awards. I think this is probably also because I only manage to watch that film of all the films nominated (Dark Knight is expected to win on its win and also of course la Wall.E) walaupon film itu hanya dapat 1 nomination. Tapi bile I watch it movie I was actually really amazed with its costume design. The wigs are really monstrously gravity defying high and the clothes are really lovely. While watching Keire Knightley cried her eyes out, I was also thinking "Oh God. Her dress fabric designs of little blue roses is really lovely. I would love to have those as my curtains or sofas. I would even love it as a blouse.Heck! I could even wear it in sync with my sofas and curtains."

Now. With thoughts like that don't it deserved its own Oscar? And I still would love to have that fabric of blue roses for a blouse.

Ho hum. Anyway. My computer is somewhat clean now. I think the virus may lurk around somewhere but I will hunt it out bit by bit. Seems like it infected not just the C drives. But ALL drives. Gah! But after my husband fixed it somewhat, I can now watch my series yet again! Yeay!

Manage to watch eps 2 of Dollhouse. I was thinking of giving my thoughts on the show. But I will wait til next week to watch the 3rd episode. So later. Kena test Danish language pulak.

Friday-ing

Hey you, its Friday night.

Been planning to download me some Grey's but little fuckers that is more widely known as computer viruses had burst into my computer and having a party wrecking through all of my programs. The computer is now a mess and downright unsalvageable. I can't even get into Safe Mode and it changed all of the .exe files in my computer to malicious files.

So haruslah mengformat komputer di malam sabtu inih.

Though actually my husband is adoing it while I am typing this blog entry on his laptop. Theeheee. I am one of those females who are completely at lost when it comes to formatting their computer, walaupon aku adalah kekononnyer system programmer though I am actually kinda handy with eradicating computer viruses. (Percayalah statement aku yang boleh di-vouch oleh lelaki2 macho yang pening kepala nak buang spyware dari computer. Yelah kate dulu keje dengan antivirus company. Kononnye. ). Tetapi these little fuckers is too persistently horrible that we both think the easiest way to get em all is reformat. Bah!

Dahlah I am not good in organizing my CDs and installers. Now di mana jua la aku letak cd-cd for my gadgets ituh.

Anyway, computer problems aside. I was browsing through a list of online shoppings ni. While I am squealing and thinking that perhaps I will give online shopping a try after all, my eyes caught an advertisement for online shopping for books. Ah! It's worth a look. Browsing through, I was kinda delighted. The usual popular items are about RM25++ but then I notice that the postal cost for 1 book is about RM5. Bile dah add up, macam tambah tolak dua tiga ringgit kat Kino je kan. Haih. So takpeler, beli je la di kedai dahulu or even Ebay.

Ho-hum. In the mean time, I am kinda enthralled with this lovable website where you can read about the life of a receptionist in London. It is all in form of an email correspondence. So you will read about her correspondence with her boss, co-workers, friends, boyfriend and families.

Kelakar ok. Sampai dah ade successful novels. Heh. Though if you ask if this Holly is a real person, I very much doubt it. The site is: http://www.hollysinbox.com/ . Though I do think it its not updated anymore, dan kalo nak tahu seterusnyer kena la plak beli buku yek. Most probably it is a promotional website. Now there is even a text messaging updates from Holly for those in the UK. Macam ala2 Twitter updates. Ah well.

But there are a lot of emails in it for me to enjoy in a while. So it can be a fun light read. Boleh aje time bosan.

Shorts short

Something baffles me.

I want McDonald Milkshakes.

But am afraid of weight gain.

My head still feels woozy.

I also want Tomyam.

I think I kinda stupid.

Wonder why somethings are different.

Don't feel like driving aggresively today.

I don't feel thin enough.

My cat is cute when she is nipping my fingers at early morning.

She is not cute when she is nipping at my feet when I am in a rush.

I sometimes hate a person

I don't care to elaborate who.

Hurm, I wonder if I did something correctly.

I will write more later.

About something else. Obviously.

Oh belog ku...

I was thinking about writing about my exes. Adalah 1, 2 cerita yang hendak di-rehash and gelak-gelakkan. But I just couldn't find the mood yet. Kena ade mood ok nak belog2.

Anyway, I don't have any big plans for the weekend, rilek2 aje lah di rumah.

Hermmmm...

I was thinking the blog world had become a little lacklustre. I don't really know why. Probably too many people are doing it. So many are cashing in on it. Which comes to another question on why haven't I joined that Nuffnangers.

I wondered that myself. At first I am kinda hesitant to blog for the sole reason of money and was thinking bukannye ramai pon visitor aku. Sekarang ni macam... hmmm macam menarik je kan. A lot of people are doing it and aku pon like money. And most of them love to blog. Some of them blogs are pretty mindless empty postings anyway. Posting full of fluffs. But most of my posting are like that. It have no defined body in it. Bercerita je la pasal ape2 pon.

My purpose to blog seems to differ as time goes. At one point, it should be kind like a journal. But like I said before. You can reveal yourself only up to a point. And to be honest. The reason autobiography or 'diaries' are really fun, is when there a lot of dirty dishes to offer. I can't bring myself to dishes on the most controversial or my innermost feelings or dirrty dirrrty secrets. Huhu.

Then it comes to a somewhat mindless rambles from there. The books I read. The films I see. Its not particularly interesting. Boring in fact as one of my ex dare to say. Hoh! Boring di katanya.

Hahaha. Well, this is a different story from the stories I originally wanted to tell. Oh ini juga bukan ex yang sama from the stories I want to tell (banyaknye ex aku la kan). But I think few years back, my ex was bemoaning the fact during our IM session that he was bored and was asking me for any cool sites to go to. At the time I was enraptured by the Gaijin Smash blog. His blog is awesome. I still like his postings though it kinda rare nowadays. Anyway, I was saying "Why don't you go tu blog ni..." ( I had not finished typing yet.) . Then he said something like
"Oh... I dah go to your blog. Arrr.. its not to my taste. I macam bosan bile baca."

Damn! Talk about insult la kan. Bwahahaha. And how the hell does he know my blog anyway. I coldly replied "I was not asking you to go to my blog. But to this blog."

Cilaker sungguh. Ade ke patut die dissed my blog. Its not like I was forcing him to read my postings and say stuffs like... "Eh, read my blog laaa and komen la skali". Aku tak sekeji ituh, tapi die secara unintentionally (ke intentionally?), telah mengkeji-kejikan belog aku.

Eh... and do I worry if he would read this posting? Tak punyer. Dah die cakap bosan. Haha. Gile ayat tak puas hati.

Hoh. Dari nak cerita pasal blog reason and Nuffnangs and people who post mindless stuffs on blogs last last ke ex jugak.

Takpe. Itu gunanye topic "Random Ramblings".

Weekend Snaps

This morning I am so pissed myself. Packed myself a chicken bun my sister bought yesterday. Then tertinggal di atas meja. Gah! Missed my breakfast la camnih. Anyway... I think I would post my past weekends recap briefly.

I figured out that I would mostly put up just few pics to recap my past weekends. So here it goes.

On the long Federal Weekend, went to Melaka.

With the usual girls.

Went to Jonker Street.

Bought these stuffs.

When gotten back to the hotel room, we played these old card games again and basically we had a blast that night and for the whole trip too. (Gohan might have a different idea. Hehe).

Also before getting back to KL, manage to stop at that Melaka Dataran Pahlawan Megamall as we saw a banner informing that there is a Times Warehouse book sales ongoing. Bought a few, of course.

Last long Thaipusam weekend pulak, on Saturday morning pergi ke KLCC to catch Bride Wars. Ok enough la. Pretty fun and predictable.

Afterwards, went browsing at Kinokuniya and bought myself the Fables graphic novel series, Legends in Exile (Vol. 1). It is pretty good. Still currently reading it. I think, I would continue to collect the whole series then.

Then, went to MATIC on Saturday night for the Pesta Sarawak and Terengganu thing that was held there...

Went there for this mee kolo, prepared by Rozie's family. They manned a booth there.

It was delish. So does the Teh C Peng, which I didn't take a snap of. Didn't bring my camera, so just use the trusty old phone camera.

Afterwards went to see the jamming session held by Lan's group of friends. It was great. They were good. Nah, that I didn't take a pic.

Well, the other activites are just the usual stuffs, watch series, lepaking sessions, errand trips, lounging around membalut buku-buku baru dibeli with plastic cover. Which reminds me that I need to buy new plastic cover for my books.

Ok lah. Laters!

Peep A Boo

Currently there are a few incidents at the office (as reported by the management) that a peeping tom had been alurking. Described as some witnesses "a figure in a peeping position".

I wonder what is the so called peeping position.

I remembered girls telling stories of the very weird psychotic lustful 'kakak' at campus who took pictures of her housemates in the shower from the top of the shower cubicles. Supposedly she was going to give it to her boyfriend for both of them to enjoy. Afterwards, heard that her housemates become a bit jittery and had to resort going to the shower in pairs, one of them guarding the toilet door outside to ensure no illegal photography being taken.

Also, there was another case of a peeping tom at my previous office that seems to prefer to do its 'activities' during the night shift. One girl telling a friend, saw a hand from below her cubicle (reaching? groping? taking picture?) and she slapped it away with her bag. When sheopened her toilet door, the peeping tom had already ran away.

So there is 2 way of going about peeping in the ladies toilet. Which way indeed the peeping tom at my office seems to employ eh?

But the thing is, why the need to peep? There are loads of p0rns for men or women to enjoy. But prolly that is just asking , why some rapist who are married need to rape.

And, enjoyable ke tengok orang lain about to do the no.1 or the no.2? Disgusting meh. The smells nyer adalah satu. And why you even want to watch ?

Maybe these type of person is just a step away from a golden shower and 2 steps away from that weird sexual acts involving any kind of feces. Gah! Even writing that make me feel like puking and wanting to take several baths and scrub my skin off.

There seems to be no conclusion to this post. I am just disgusted and bored and about to go to the toilet while hoping I do not need to 'baling' my shoes at someone face or hand.

Kete rusak pulak

and I am currently at home abeskan tengok True Blood. Cilaker je kan. Padahal ade banyak je keje kat opis. But lantak la and I need to wait for the 'pomen' to come pon.

Kalu tidak camne esok aku nak gi keje? Naik teksikah? Dah la selalu balik lambat. Gah! At least nasib baik the car wouldn't start at home. Last night ada tanda2 dah, but I manage to start the car after all. Bayangkan la kalo kete itu rusak tengah2 that dark parking lot where ade transvestite melakukan aktiviti2 "servis". ( I was just about to drive out of the parking lot one night and terkezut aku taw. Tetiba je ade 1 she-man kuar out of the dark macam creature of the night. Muka die dissapointed je finding out its a woman driving that car and she went back to her dark place ).

Ah ok la. Laters.

So busy

and I wish I am not :(

Ugh. Anyway. Performance appraisal is over. That is a load of my mind. However, I am still very busy, so I guess I am just updating to say I am busy, not in a coma or dead.

Got few posts wanting to put up, need to wait til later then.

Ok. Later.

Voices in my head and yet I am not crazy

Tengok ni dah kul brape, saya maseh di opis. Dah kena kerah berkerja kan. Sob Sob. Takpe. Nanti ade cuti 3 hari... Jangan sesiapa ganggu tidurku~

Argh...

Oh... I was looking at a my YM list of friends and I realized haven't met one of them in a quite a while. However, in my head I somehow could still played out the sound of his voice if I choose to remember.

Some people voice are just so distinctive that it will be embedded in your head. And these are not particularly great or melodious voice. Some are mildly annoying and grating. But I can still played it over my head just as if they are talking beside me . I can remember a few of my friends and ex boyfriends voice even those from 10 years back. But most of the voice that I remember are boys. Also some of the guys I knew, have a laidback sorta way of talking that I raise my eyebrows at. Those inflections, their pauses, their slurring ways of saying out loud their words are what usually what I memorized. These are the one I usually found such glee in 'mengajuk'.

I have problems trying to remember girls voice tho. But there are 2 or 3 that kinda stand out. Maybe because I hear them so often! Hehehe...

And isn't it weird on how wildly different our voices sounds like when we hear them recorded. I always thought that my voice sounds deep when I spoke, tapi bile dengar dalam recording ke or voicemail, it just sounded pitchy and girly and just like everyone else.

Bah!

Of Doomed Queen, 1001 Tales and the last Potter book.

Oh...

Work kinda sucks at the moment cause I have to program things I don't know how to program. Anyone can teach me how to 'programming' using 'pattern search'? God! I hate programming and I dread my performance appraisal next week. I know I'm a moron in my job and I am afraid my boss may suspect I am a moron too. Yes, yes. I have low self esteem but somehow people who have this low self esteem problem does have valid reasons why their self esteem so low kan?

Gah! Lets not think about work. Absolut dreadful. Think about the lovely 4 days off free from work! Celebrate good people. Oh! Joyous dayssss, indeeed!

Anyway, the purpose why I blog today is to ramble on books! Whee! I haven't done that in ages! (Stop putting exclamation marks Dils!!!)

Ok. Let start with The Other Boleyn Girl.

I thought it was gonna be long winded, filled with unnecessary details and dull. But it was good. V.good indeed. It was gripping and the scenes are lovingly described. I love how Anne is depicted here through the eyes of Mary. She is portrayed as a villain. I may agree with some of the writer assumptions here that Anne is ambitious and can be devious, but if you aim for the top spot when you are not born into it, you must need to trample a few heads kan? But I still have a soft spot of that doomed Queen of England. I remembered standing in front of Traitor's Gate at the Tower of London and hearing our guide informed us this is the where Anne Boleyn had to pass through when she was herded in as prisoner.

I remembered reading a critic dismissing the book as trashy. Herm. Maybe the critic is right. My reading list is not that literary. But book critics does sometimes seems to have volumes of Britannica stacking up all into their arses. (Still I perhaps will take a peek through Twilight and see if its really as bad as it sounds)

However I enjoyed reading it, and I can now remember which queens from first to 6th and their names and also all the other supplementary characters that are involved at the times. Though I am still somewhat baffle on why Kinokuniya put up that book in the young adult fiction. I kinda doubt most young adult I know would enjoy reading it, but probably me myself at 16, would enjoy it. Who knows. So I am now interested to read her other Tudors work. Nanti la singgah lagi at Book Xcess as that place sold her books way cheap!

Now am reading Bill Willingham 1001 Nights of Snowfall.

The gist about the book is:
In the story Snow White has been sent to negotiate with the Arabian fables. The sultan, considering it an insult that a woman was sent to negotiate, holds her hostage. Snow White tells him a story every night to keep him from beheading her.
It do not have 1001 tales in it, a few of familiar tales retold with a twist. So far, I love the Snow White telling of her supposedly happy ending and I feel sad reading of the Frog Prince.

This is a late birthday present from my husband after I complained a lot that I didn't get any birthday present. Anyway, I'm not totally loving that the illustrations are more compare to wordings (I am still relatively new to this graphic novels business ok) but I like this Fable one off series. I am thinking of trying out the first Fable series to see if its any good. Tapi macam expensive hobby dah pulak if you start to collect graphic novels ni. Herm.

And you know y'all, I think I am giving up trying to kumpul all of Buffy 'graphic novel'. Its too much for me to continuously search for it and buy it. I give up. And heck! It's not even a graphic novel. It's a comic ok. Graphic novel is this 1001 Nights of Snowfall-like.

This also makes me yearn to have 1001 Arabian Nights Tale. Complete with beautiful illustrations. My husband found a collection of 1001 Arabian Nights Tale at Kinokuniya and pointed it out to me. He knows I am searching for it, but you know what... gile mahal that volume. RM800++ . Perghhhh... Ah well. There is always the children's book or the online version. ZzzzZZzzz

Oh and I am also currently reading the last book of Harry Potter. The last time I read it, I was kinda in a rush to know all the juicy tidbits and the wraparound of the story. So I decided to read it again more slowly to enjoy the book.

p/s: cilakak betul. Dah pukul 9pm, aku still lagi kat opis. Takpe, takpe. Cuti 4 hari. Cuti 4 hari.

Cats and Mess

At first this photo was meant for my IG story, but the mess is too much. So I opted not to, and in a whim decided to just post it here. Beca...

Nuffnang
