Dimmed

Dils : Saye nak meal no. 3 ye.

DCGFF : Ok. Akak nak drink ape? Akak bole pilih dari options ni *while showing a menu for hot beverages consisting of only coffee*.

Dils : Erm... ade ape lagi selain coffee ye?

DCGFF : Kite ada selection ni *showing the menu again*. Akak boleh pilih mocha, capucchino , mochachino, freakin chino...

Dils : Arrr. Ye. Yang lain??

DCGFF : Kami ade choice yang ni *Gah! She's showing the stupid menu again!*

Dils : Ok. Tapi saya tak minum coffee. Ade drink ape lagi ye?

DCGFF : *still showing the stupid menu again!!! while prattling on about the goddamn coffee.*

Dils : *about to either strangle the girl with the stupid menu or spell out my question slowly*

Fiance : Erm.. teh ade?

DCGFF: *saying brightly* Ade.

Dils : OK. Saye ambik teh. *said in a tight voice and smile*

DCGFF: So ....*she continue on to proceed to rattle of our orders*

* DCGFF - Dim Cashier Girl working at Fast Food restaurant.

Fiance is defending her honor by saying she's blur since it is still pagi at the time (not that early pon) . Tapi janganlah blur camtuh skali kalau dah berkali-kali soalan yang sama you are still spouting off the same answer.

p/s the first : I had been known for being blur dulu.... tapi after 3 questions???? really??? Not that I have anything against blur people... tapi berkali-kali tu... soalan yg simple..non coffee drink (the line of questioning went on a bit longer, I think I asked her about 4 or 5 times. Gah!)

p/s the second: People might ask why didn't I just asked specifically for tea but that's because I want to know what other options are there... Milo, Hot Coco, Juice (the possibilities are endless here)...

Food Take to Walk. This does not make sense.

Paragraph in points. Or points in paragraph. Whatever.

Secret Recipe baffled me. Went to lunch at Secret Recipe to get the Soba, which is now the Japanese Soba. I swear few months back it was Vegetarian Soba. And I could swear a year back it was Japanese Soba. Very confusing and I swear that as Veggie Soba, it cost about RM11++ while the Japanese Soba cost RM13++. The difference is that they put slices of chicken ham in it. Hurm. Will not try it again as the one I tried today is not nice compared to the last time I had it.

There are the cutest kittens at the back of my kitchen sleeping next to the washing machine now. One is tompok ala2 hitam and oren and another one is belang2. We feared that the tompok hitam oren is dead as its not moving at all and mouth is slightly agape. The mother is slightly petrified of us and hugely protective of its kittenz. Will bare fangs if provoke.

My search for the ultimate shoes came up in vain. No shoes can be found that have these criteria
1. Dark color
2. Mary Jane-like
3. Comfy
4. Not brown as had one already. Or shitty brown.
5. Not formal looking nor too high school or ah lian or bow-ish or cheap lookin or look like shriveled carcass.
6. Not slippery. Really stupid shoe mass-producing producer and designer. Is it too hard to conceive in your brain to develop shoes that have a good grip and not feel like we are on an ice rink whenever its raining?

Witness a very unpleasant berate hurled upon a salesgirl or a cashier that included derogatory remarks and racial slurs by a customer. Perhaps the cashier or salesgirl at fault and was being unprofessional and giddy(air headed) and unintentionally insulted the customer. However the customer too should not include derogatory remarks and dragged racism into this. You will only show others (apart from being very racist) that you have poor opinions and lack of sense and tolerance.

Oh my. There is no watchable movies to watch at the moment.

Mrs Dalloway

Yups. I finally finished reading the dang "Mrs Dalloway" after almost 2 month of reading a 200 pages book. Pathetic. Any other books, I can finish them in 2 weeks without trying. This is definitely not a book for leisure.

I won't make a lengthy review of it. Nah. Not-a-review one might say. Rather my opinion.

The summary as taken from Amazon.com.

As Clarissa Dalloway walks through London on a fine June morning, a sky-writing plane captures her attention. Crowds stare upwards to decipher the message while the plane turns and loops, leaving off one letter, picking up another. Like the airplane's swooping path, Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway follows Clarissa and those whose lives brush hers--from Peter Walsh, whom she spurned years ago, to her daughter Elizabeth, the girl's angry teacher, Doris Kilman, and war-shocked Septimus Warren Smith, who is sinking into madness.

As Mrs. Dalloway prepares for the party she is giving that evening, a series of events intrudes on her composure. Her husband is invited, without her, to lunch with Lady Bruton (who, Clarissa notes anxiously, gives the most amusing luncheons). Meanwhile, Peter Walsh appears, recently from India, to criticize and confide in her. His sudden arrival evokes memories of a distant past, the choices she made then, and her wistful friendship with Sally Seton.

I was shocked at first in reading a bisexual 'sentiment' in there, the uneasiness of easiness in marriage and repression. Reading accounts of her life I get what she's trying to tell in Mrs Dalloway and thinking if it will mirror mine one day. Dang! We got ourselves a thinking book right here.

Bored to tears is my unprofessional and totally ignorant opinion. This style of writing is called a 'stream of consciousness'. Something that seems to separate Virginia Woolf from other writers. As so I found myself reading one thought after another and after the other, and without warning, another thought is seamlessly put in by another character altogether and on and on it went. Very little dialogue in the novel and nothing of the usual plots or stories. The usual Booker or Pulitzer kinda books I guess, where we are exasperated by the end... since most of us like to have a tightly closed story complete with a red ribbons adorned towards the ending.

However I had to admit that even during my tears of boredom as I read the book, I recognized her brilliance in writing thoughts after thoughts without full stop. From a profound revelation to the most simpering of thoughts of groceries, she captured it and literally put the thoughts into writing. Not an easy feat. Her mental illness is part of this brilliance as I read.

Brilliant or not, it would take me at least 5 years before I attempt to pick up her books or works again. So off to the world of chic lit ridiculousness again.

Idiots and Taggage

Double post today. Just because I got loads of comments on my last post. Hah! Tipu je. Just that I feel like it.

For the first part, this is mostly ranting.

Kejab. Nak summon balik perasaan marah. Ok. Now. Does most Mercedes or BMW drivers are retarded?

You know, I don't usually rant on KL drivers as I am pretty sucky too at times. However a hint of common sense are needed when driving of course.

If you want to memotong time turun bukit, make sure that it is not near a bend and there is not a car in front of you. I had to slam down my brake and drove close to a curb, risking a collision myself as so your sorry ass of a Mercedes or god damn BMW (I was too pissed to notice, but it was either of those) would not wrap around the taxi that was on the opposite side of the road or hitting me just as so you are able to potong my car.

Are you stupid? Kereta besar to make up for your small brain ka? Laju2 turun bukit pon tarak guna kan since depan simpang tu dah jam packed. Dapat potong pon satu kete je which is driving quite fast turun bukit yang agak simpang siur. Tunggu je la belakang, asshole.

It is your lucky day that the taxi is not that fast and I swerved to the curb as so to save your worthless ass. Nanti yang susah sape? Your bini and anak jugak kan. Meraung over your mangled body. Or worse, hitting others and cause other people (moi! moi!) bodily harm. Gah! Siap la kau WNN 97** (i think) , if I see lain kali your car at Giant ka... mamak ka... (Grrrrr....).

Fuh fuh. Ugh. Geram for other people lack of respect of basic road safety. If you are late, it is your fault. Nak potong jalan, do it responsibly. Jangan susahkan orang lain and don't bring unnecessary risk to yourself and others around you.

Sama jugak macam the selfish drivers yang guna emergency lane ni. Fine, you are in a hurry. Ape ko ingat aku drive pagi2 time jam2 ni nak amik angin? Suke2 abeskan minyak? Tunggu blakang la. I skang also ikut Gohan and others nowadays, that when I drive at the left side of the road, (tmpt yang prone org potong cara hagham) will position my car tengah2 line. Padan muka sume beratur blakang aku. I noticed if they potong on the emergency lane, lagi lembap jadinye.

Fuh fuh..

**********************************************************************************************
Now the second part, am doing the tag from Jannah and link 5 more to you unlucky 5 out there (5 ni je pon usually baca :) . Usually, people that I link tu mesti tak wat. Ikut suke. Aku link aje ok.

The Linking Tag Rules

1. List out five favourite links - the links can be of business sites, affiliate links or whatever that suits the blogger.

2. Tag five more people to share their links, so hopefully, at the end of the tag, we would be able to share good links with each other.

3. The links MUST be clean. No X-rated sites.

4. List out only FIVE links.

5. You MUST tell FIVE people you choose.

6. Provide the link back to the person who tagged you.

7. Obviously, it should be an active link.

Moi 5 Favorite Links...

1. As like Jannah, I usually start my day with my own blog too. Yeay, we are egotistical that way. Want to gaze at own post first. Heh. But the link that you see on the sidebar of my blog, most I visit daily.

2. My almost daily read is also E! Online to get the latest rumours or spoilers or update on my favorite series. Especially Watch with Kristin. (Not cheating as this is the sub-link!) Tapi selalu hang (kalo bandwidth rendah). A lot of vids.

3. I also have to get the daily gossip of Britney, Paris, Angie and such from Trent blog! I love his blog as it is gossip-full without being too mean like Perez. Trent taste in movies and books almost similar to mine, so I am always interested what his opinions are for particular books or movies, or what new books and movies are coming out! He loves Neil Gaiman too!

4. If I am feeling particularly read-iey, I will head to Television Without Pity to read their recaps. I love the forums and the recap. Some recap just have the right sense of snark and humour in such as Potes, Drunken Bee, Sars, Al Lowe.... Whil some of the recappers can drone on and on going completely of the point altogether like one exasperating recapper Jacob. Heh. However I do love reading the Gossip Girl recap too, even if the recapper have a tendency to psychoanalyze the characters a bit too much.

5. Now... the number 5 is approaching. I am a bit torn on either 2 links. However as my favorite link is a search engine, mind you it is not Google, then I will present my final favorite link which is BabyBlues cartoons. If I am feeling particularly blue, or bored or in need of a cuteness inserted in my life, I head down to their cartoon strip site. Zoey, Hammie and Wren is just too cute.

Hmmm. Most of the link I mentioned above are at the sidebar of my blog. Easier to reference. And I noticed many of the sites are gossip related or TV related. Hahaha. Who cares lor.

5 people to tag.

Geeez. I don't know. Well I will just list randomly eh.

Here goes:

1. SeriAs. Sebab. Buat la weh. Haha. Aku nak tengok. Ape lagi ko wat kat internet ni.

2. Taqi. Hoping he will give me an idea which kewl site that may opened the fantasy world.

3. Effi. Because prolly he'll loathe this.

4. Re-arrange. Sebab adek boleh aje dipersuade untuk memberitahu akak ini ape lagi yang ada di Internet world other than gossip world.

5. Some. Haa haa. Ape lagi yang dibukak at the WWW other than youtube and streaming anime yee?

What fair?

People are all hyped up about MAS travel fair and MATTA and airasia low price promos.

Gah. When did travelling become so popular ?

Now everyone can fly? Bullshit. It make travelling look so passe. (Padahal jeles sebab tak bole pegi). I can't make it to any travel fair since I am saving my money for my wedding.... (its not even a big wedding ok... wedding business mencekik darah) and my fiance is being petulant whenever I mentioned any travel package. Pegi sensorang honeymoon kang.. padan muka! Come to think of it, I still haven't manage to accomplish my wish list to travel alone.

Hurmmm. This gives me an idea which I will not voice out, since I had before voice this out and I was being lectured by my sis and my mom and whoever . Eh... I am not flaky ok that I can easily be persuaded to join a cartel of illegal prostitutions . Ok. Not flaky sometimes... However, not to take the risk lightly, in a side note... it is a great responsibility to yourself if you want to travel alone and if you do prepare yourself greatly. Tapi macam menarik kan. Nak buat jugak la satu hari. Jeng jeng jeng.

So anyway since everybody and anybody I know want to travel this year... this year I declared to myself is tahun mencari hobi dan jalan2 di sekitar KL and JB year. Go to places never seen before! Shop at places never been thought of before! (Shopping pon kena limit) Stay at places that people usually just passes by! Yeay! I declared that flying everywhere is passe and I will join it again when price is rocket high. Cewah. (Hish.. kata2 itu adalah doa.. biarla bile aku nak travel... murah lagi..)

Anyway, at first I was going to start my post about where I had gone to and travel to... but that post is too snobbish and pretentious that even I would gag at myself if I read that kinda post. So let's not torture everybody and let me be snobbish and pretentious whenever I am talking only k.

So kita start next week dengan kembali ke KLCC. Yeay! Gile tak adventurous.

Whom I Hate

The goodness-health-foodies-busybody.

That doesn't make any sense doesn't it?

Let me 'splain this type of the person.

Me: *dreaming out loud* Damn. I wish I have me some of those hot baked potatoes dripping with sour creams, baked beans, cheese and some shredded fried steak sumbat in for good measures.

Hateful Anonymous Person: Eh. Potato is fattening la. Not to mention cream and cheese. Fried steak some more. Eiiiiiii *shuddering like someone is feasting on a plateful of maggots right in front of 'em*.

Me: *grab keys and head straight to the nearest shop that have those dratted baked potatoes*

Familiar?

I don't mind a person who is complaining that they can't/won't eat meat, bread, cheese or all food on earth as long as they confine to themselves.

If it include moi, helooo.. keep your remarks to yourself can or not? Especially if I am just about to put the so called fatty food in my mouth. Rude much?

So what if I decide to eat those. Unless I was being really unhealthy (binging on donuts or McD all day every day), I don't think it is your business to inform me if its unhealthy or not. I know the calorie too, thank you very much.

And what I found funny too, the one who usually said this type of thing... well.. they are not that 'slim' anyway. And most of em don't even get their foodies facts correctly whenever they want to 'correct' a person of their eating habit.

Go figure eh.

Its So A (My) Review

So Election day is 8th March aight? Sungguh dekat tarikhnya. I still have no idea who to vote, or even if its I am voting (that is another tale altogether) but let's welcome the familiar sight that come only once in 4 or 5 years.

Like an Olympic events, I believe the election time is where avid photographers around Malaysia will have a fun field day in snapping various posters and such scenery. Yes. You know who you are.

Now to get to shallow topic for today. The idiot box issues! The writer strike is over. Yeay! Shouts all around. (This doesn't mean hoot for Malaysia tv but a lot for those who lovess the Internet as a source of entertainment more than their lover).

Too long ago I started a topic about new series. Let's recap those for my own amusement. Lagi pon dah lama tak filled in my labels for TV while I am an avid watcher of the idiot box.

Let's roll.

Gossip Girl

Is it any good?
Are you freaking crazy? Its. The. Best. Thing. After. OC. For those who loves OC, will love Gossip Girl. I had been a fan of high school drama and teenage angst since Beverly Hills. Heck maybe even Saved by the Bell. I sadly believe even if I reach 40 years old, I will still be watching this teenage angsty-ness and drooling after guys of inappropriate age while feeling a lot like paedo.

Oh. Back to the question, its great. It have its greatness and mediocreness. However the script is sometimes bland, but the characters are fascinating. The sarcasm remarks and the phoniness of the characters makes this for an enjoyable 45 mins y'all! Best new series of the batch (for moi) and am trying to persuade everyone to watch this. Yes. Even you fiance, so fear for your brain.

Left me wanting for more?
Of course, and this is among the new series that are being picked up for full season first. People under 20s are squealing out LOVE, the under 30s who still think they are under 20s are gleefully awaiting for next week for brand new eps, people above 30s I believe are being nonchalant while watching this while everyone is asleep.

Oh and of course they have some great music features, and they introduce me to these cute sister-team-band-performers The Pierces. Love their music. Intensely.

Reaper
Is it any good?
The first eps is great. The second is reminiscing of the first. The third and forth seems like a repeat that it becomes quite a drone. Guys seems to like it. I ... watched it out of obligation of donloading it. I think why this series is so lacklustre is of the chemistry of the cast. They seem to lack this important factor with each other except the interaction between Sam and the Devil. The Devil is deliciously evil and maliciously wicked . He is the only reason I kept on watching. Not that it is not enjoyable, just that after you finish watching this, you have no desire to watch the next episode. There's still 3 or 4 more episodes of Reaper I haven't watched.

Left me wanting for more?
Haven't heard if it will continue to S2 . 50/50 I believe. Depends I guess if I like the finale or the last eps enough. Mungkin sekadar mendonload sahaja for fiance and my brothers. They love it.

Private Practice
Is it any good?
It started out shaky. Then coming out OK. Then it becomes forgettable and even dull at times. Addison had become this hysterical, insecure, paranoid woman. A far cry from the first time we saw her standing sexily on her high heels claiming her husband. I found it at times even painful to see her antics. I know this series is about a woman struggle in her 40s, but is it that painful? Does women in their 40s act like a teenager still? Hope not. If this is what Shonda Rimes idea of a strong woman struggle... I am ready to move on to another series. Even Piz/ Dell is dull! How could you writers! But please no more nekkidness for either Addy or Dell.

Left me wanting for more?
Prolly yes as I had invested interest in Addison. But I seems to watch this series while surfing nowadays. If only... I don't know what can make this show better. Shonda Rimes better think up something. Tho I do love Christopher (Gilmore Girls ) , Addison love interest and hope that they drop the idea that Addison is a star crossed lovers with Pete. Gah. Talk about no chemistry. If it continue to be sucky I may drop it.

Women's Murder Club
Is it any good?
The pilot is horrendous. I guess forcing viewers relationship problems in front of a corpse is not in good taste. Boleh tak berbual about your love life kat tempat lain yang lebih inappropriate kan? But it gets better and hope continue to get better. I do keep on wondering though if they would have the gall to kill off Jill character in the series as in the books. (if it continues to go on). Prolly on Season 1 or Season 2 finale yar?

Left me wanting for more?
I don't know. I am beginning to heart Angie Harmon and her character. And also Claire. Not lovin the other 2. Maybe. Maybe not.

Cashmere mafia
Is it any good?
I love the pilot. I enjoyed the series. But if I am to be really honest to myself, I only love it because of Miranda Otto and Lucy Liu. I'm not sure regarding the chemistry of the cast, but its enjoyable. And truth be told, I like a show about strong women that have priorities other than relationship.

Left me wanting for more?
Prolly. The reception was not very good I hear and would be sorry to see it goes. But I am a fan!

The other series I mentioned before that I prolly watch... (time tuh kan keje cuti 3 4 arie . byk je masa nak tengok series. Skang tercari-cari masa) I list down as below those that I watched.

Aliens in America
Is it any good?
Not the typical sitcom comedy. Something like Malcolm in the Middle (even tho I don't watch much of those). However I do like their outtake on a Moslem. Not too demeaning nor judgemental or changeable. Some eps are good. Some are funny. Others ok. I give it a 6. Oh. The sister is not that hot to be that popular. Heh.

Left me wanting for more?
Guys love it. I watch this since its short. 20 mins worth of fun. Prolly will watch since will be donloading for the guys.

Pushing Daisies
Is it any good?
The pilot is breathtaking. The graphic is beautiful. It is reminiscent of Amelie and I strongly believe that they shot the series with 'Amelie' sorta concept behind it when I saw Chuck aunts house and the song "Guilty" that they played. ( It is the song in Amelie soundtrack and is a very lovely song from the 1930s).

Left me wanting for more?
Despite its beauty, some plots are kinda draggy. I do love to watch the sets and the clothes and the ridiculousness of the case sometimes. I give it a tentative yes. Tengok ape yang ade next season.

Moonlight
Is it any good?
Bole tak that I am loving this show? The pilot is gagful. But after that, it was great! It have a cheap feel of it, (the sets are bleak and you can just see that the props and sets cheap) but I love the story . It is the second new show that I truly love. Prolly I just love vampire shows. And since the heroine is uncanny-like Kate Winslet, that keep my eyes glued to the screen.

Left me wanting for more?
I made my feelings clear. We know the answer.

Am going to watch Lipstick Jungle. Some say its better than Cashmere Mafia. But who know eh. I never really like Brooke Shields anyway. Didn't get to watch Samantha Who, Bionic Woman and Chuck. Heard really great response from the Samantha Who and Chuck. Tapi tak larat eden. Tunggu je ar if it will be coming to a TV station near me.

Bulan depan or another 2 months dah bole beli DVDs Medium and Supernatural. Heh. Dah start collecting, might as continue collecting those DVDs.

Elect the VD

How amusing it is to find that for a change, there is no pages and pages of spread regarding Valentine's Day in today's newspaper.

Nope. Today we are served with what BN hopes are, what they did, what the Opposition hopes, how to votes, what the people are thinking and all that are related with election.

However you'll be sadly mistaken if I would write on this as people might know I am shallow minded person and so I won't write politics in my blog. Nor would I persuade you to take the Govt or Opposition side in voting. Masing2 dah besar kan? Tapi malasnye nak balik kampung untuk voting. Sigh.

I am not a sentimental (Damn.. maybe I am sentimental.. I take that back), oh.. a 'jiwang' fool so I won't go yammering the same thing that every blog are spouting today regarding Valentines *oh my bf/hunny sent me a huge flowers...so ecstatic wallauuu*, *f*** V day. Today is single day, let's all singletons go out and be merry*, *V day is just a commercialized day deign to make couple feels guilty of not taking money to buy useless gift out of their hard earned cash*, bla bla bla and so on so on.

How very repetitive don't you think.

As so... what is the point la in me writing this post?

Waste of space only.

What say you?

Now I want to chip in with all the rages of Siti's tudung.

I am not going to harp on the fact that she is not wearing this correctly. Or the fact (or non-fact?) on if there is truly any correct way of wearing a tudung. People would always argue on how Quran are being interpreted. I am not a scholar so I will not say which is the 'most' correct (while I am sure many of you will be ready to supply me with information and quotes and such later)

What rages me is what people say. I make fun of her. Oh yes I do. Her taste is horrendous ok. I can blindfold myself, pusing my bilik 10 times, then grope for my clothes and I will still surpass her.

What makes me sighed at the fate of the world is on the vicious word on how Siti is not a good Muslim for not wearing a tudung litup, or her husband is 'munafik', Siti ni tengok aje past die bla bla and the logic will then be turned to blaming tudung-wearing woman.

So we know by many evidence most of them is not as good as they look (that include moi!). Does that give you to the right to attack them viciously. The usual words.... " Alaaa yang pakai tudung pon wat gini wat gitu.."

As such? Are they not human too? So they wear tudung? That is a testament that they should never commit sin? If tudung is a statement on how you portrayed faith, yet people are proclaiming that faith could not be determine by clothes. Granted that those decided on hijab should need to always strive to improve themselves, however when they wrong is the only things that people know is only to abuse?

What about the prejudice on women who clad the hijab are being perceived as incompetent, meek, subservient? An ex-colleague once confided that she was advised to 'open' her hijab during the interview to get a chance. Sadly, this is true.

Some people also said that by donning the hijab, the women looked less superior, hanya sesuai keje kerani. I personally believe this is more on how she dresses herself (fashion wise). I myself am guilty of this, however I need to always remind myself that this is not how I suppose to think.

I had met plenty of great women who is at the top of the career that donned the hijab. I am sure they are bringing in plenty of moolah (surpassing you who judged) , great speaker and a good leader.

I think my annoyance stem from the fact that I hate that a group of people are being bad-mouthed by some ignoramus when the wrong is being done by an individual. Usually non-hijab clad women are being outspoken about this. But the hijab one too receive an outlash.

I may have some prejudice and I may not be a pious Muslim. However I don't agree on bad mouthing or stereotyping one group in what they believe in and their choices.

Thinking further and further... I can only assume that this is the type of prejudice that could only happen to women since the harshest criticism usually came from the menfolk. (Who they themselves that preach suke pakai sluar pendek pegi mamak. Shut up. You know who you are)

Oh.. back to Siti. My thoughts is that her tudung wearing 'phase' is horrible (fashion wise) and anyone who's want to wear it out on the street, need to gouge out their eyes. Even the fashion (memakai tudung yg kaver rambut tu je) is slightly passable than the hood she is currently carrying. However that is her fault on fashion wise. ( Bernard Chandran should be shot for thinking this faux paus).

However I am not questioning her faith nor her career or she herself as a person (except she obviously need a stylist pronto) based on her decision to wear tudung. She decide to commit a (many) fashion faux pas that provide much hilarity for blogs and forums everywhere. I also had decided on some really questionable looking shoes and dress. So does a few of my friends. Life goes on and no one should attacked us for our belief based on what we chose.

p/s: This blogger cannot be categorized as a hijab nor non-hijab clad woman. She knows her limitations and are merely expressing her frustration regarding ignoramus criticism. Pointless and hurtful comments would be monitored closely and deleted if needed. It is her blog and her say, so don't bitch. So if you don't like it, blog about it.

Heart Shaped Stained Glasses

Can it be consider as fictionalize thoughts? Definitly fiction. Not thought of.... conciously.

I got the weirdest dream last night. It was soo horrendously funny that I am smiling as I typed.

Let's start from thebeginning shall we.

I dreamt somehow my friends and I went to watch a movie. When we reached at the cinema complex, people are running out of there screaming. (My typical dream... yeah I have nightmare almost nightly and I really need to write down one particularly disturbing one. That's for later though).

We were feeling curious and none of the screaming person felt like explaining anything. So we went in after all. It's all very blurry afterwards. People screaming. We were forcing our way in. The next thing I know, I was grabbed and taken somewhere.

Then the cause unravel. It seems Marilyn Manson was behind it. LOL.

He is divorce from his wife and so was feeling a tad bit lonely. So he felt like taking a new 'queen' (Evan Rachel Wood somehow do not exist in this alternate universe) and felt like by force is the way to go. So to grab any girl he could find, he created some chaos. Whatever that chaos is... (probably he summoned some dark evil demon to unleash their fury?) And in that chaos by abducting 1 person, that person will not be missed at first and will be presume to be missing or died in that chaos itself.

In that dream I was like a hostage where I cannot run and everywhere I go , I am watched by his henchmen while Marilyn Manson is forcing me to like him. Everywhere I go he seems to know automatically.

(Let's be warned that no 18SX nor R-rated acts are being performed in my dream. So yes, those who is hoping so much more can stop reading now. )

The dream then goes to the tedious on how I keep on hatching plan to escape but it was unfoil or I cannot go through with it. However after sometime, I manage to get a chance. It seems that I convinced him to go to a trip somewhere ( trip to the mall. Yes.. roll your eyes). After some cajoling here and there, I manage to hoodwinked him at get out of there. However as I walked away, I totally got the Stockholm syndrome!

I came back and felt something like a fondness to him. As so I stay and became the 'queen' to Marilyn Manson side. Haha.. I think the dream does goes on afterwards where people try to rescue me then I am feeling attached and not wanting to blame him for my abduction and feeling reluctant to leave. I can't remembered if I ever leave...

Oh and Marilyn Manson was not wearing any makeup during the dream except for the first time I met him after I was capture.

Totally ridiculous and yet so Freudian.

Trickles

Let's do the what did I do today kinda topic. I know you guys don't care and it's boring and all that. Whatever. My blog.

So early morning today (yesterday technically, but let's not dwell on details shall we?), my fiance and I went to one of the Ulu Yam waterfalls, scouting places where I can bring my colleagues for an outing.

Great scenery, the water is cold yet nice (after an hour of hesitant wetting ma feet) . Not so many people ( I was adamant to go early in the morning to beat the crowd). Not tooo polluted (how many are there that are not pon). And most importantly.... no icky encounter with leeches and pacat. Need I stress again upon the fact that I am raised as a city girl as thus only familiar with animals ranging from the usual pests to dogs and cats?

Unfortch, I don't have any pictures. Phone pon tak bawak. He does. No 'pose' pictures tho.

The day got even better when I managed to procure the below.

The Buffy comics. I was searching for it briefly at Kinokuniya and some stores. Was contemplating ordering online which is madness since the shipping would cost more than the comics.

However 'some'one manage to take a glimpse of it somewhere and informed me. Hehe. So the fascination with Buffy-dom continues. The downer is that I didn't manage to find the part 1 of the first arc 'The Long Way Home'. Takpe. Try cari jua. Oooh. Did I mention this is like my first time ever in buying comics (manga not included). And it is all for Buffy. Sigh.

Ok. Snooze time. I can't manage to take a nap in the afternoon nowadays and kept on waking up early in the morning. So tidak lagi menjadi burung hantu.

p/s: I can't manage to find a good blog title. So don't try to find meaning behind it since I just type whatever words that my fingers want to move to.

Snapshots

There are some things that are best forgotten.

Some are of course hard to forget. Some are just plain forgettable. For some ... you don't realize you ever had it until it hit you right on the face when a hint of a smell, a glimpse of where your tracks were or the sound of that dratted songs sent to you. These are the absolute worst as it will leave you dazed and reeling even after years down the line. It's like the cartoon characters that are being hit by an anvil while minding their own business.

I called this memory burst or snapshots of a memory since it only gave you that few seconds of remembrance but still painful nonetheless.

There's a reason I don't looked into Friendster that often nowadays. Its hurt to see people move on or people getting better. I am not that good of a person that can say " I am SOOO glad you are doing better than me". Its much more pleasant to just shut down the PC , sit down to read a book and eat doughnuts while flipping through the pages with jam streaked fingers. What I do not know cannot hurt me right?

p/s: Now I am not getting sappy. This can also include past so-called friends and of course non-friends. Guess I am getting snippy. No worries. Tomorrow is a holiday.

Just Quote: In Good Humour

Beg Kecil Ini

Beg kecil ini kuharap dapat tunjukkan,
Yang ia tidak sia-sia dikait,
Kerna, Jika kamu mahukan sesuatu,
Ia akan memberi ape yang kamu inginkan,
Dan memandangkan kita akan berpisah,
Ia akan memberi makna yang lain,
Kerna, Tatkala kamu terlihat beg ini,
Kamu akan terkenang rakanmu ini.

Ms D : Tada! Puitis tak? Hahaha.

Mob 1: *faint mumblings of protestation"

Ms D : What? What do you mean it is written by Jane Austen. I tak penah dengar pon Jane Austen.

Mob 1: * stronger rumblings of protest heard*

Ms D : Arrrr... yeah.. I did a lengthy post regarding Jane Austen a while back. Must had slipped my mind. Tapi die tulis novel je ok. She write no bleedin poems.

Mob 1 & Mob 2: *protests and pickets and letter of complaints flying everywhere*

Ms D : .........

Mob 1 & Mob 2 & Mob 3: * Are ready with armory of stones, Malaysian reporters and small time lawyers*

Ms D : Fine, fine.. * Fake grin with a set of gleaming white teeth shining*

Inspired by here, here (this is hilarious) and most certainly credited to the below.

This Little Bag by Jane Austen

This little bag I hope will prove
To be not vainly made--
For, if you should a needle want
It will afford you aid.
And as we are about to part
T'will serve another end,
For when you look upon the Bag
You'll recollect your friend

p/s: The translation is horrible. My translation I meant. Anyone can enlighten me what does this mean? ---> "For, if you should a needle want"

Edited on 19th Jan 08: So.. people are calling this "pulling a natasha" or "do the hudson". Very tongue in cheek I suppose.

Random Thoughts II and Plagiarism for Published Books Sucks Much Even for 1 Measly Poem/Prose

Short post.

1. Am sick again. Hate getting sick. Hate getting sick in the middle of training. Trainer might accuse me of not paying attention, but for Pete's sake. I am trying not to crash onto the floor while you are droning on, ok.

2. My kerete sudah kembali cumil. Yeay! A lil bit of extra money this month was spent in 'ketuk' and 'cat' my car. I had 'gores'kan my car at a side of a tembok while trying to avoid a motorcycle few months back. I should have just clip that motorcycle.

3. I am broke. Freaking broke. Dayum.

4. The lovely shoes I am wearing is pinching my feet.

5. The least important. Bloggers are usually passionate creatures. We comment without 'penapis' but the more clever one try to at least think before 'submit'.

6. The most important. Most of us realize that there is no money making business in writing in Malaysia. However you do gain 'some' monetary gain in it and also recognition as a published writer, while there are many other more talented or not so talented but passionate writers that would gladly killed you for that spot. With that in mind, some so-called writer need to have dignity in what they wrote, even it is for children's book or nonsense you wrote when you are a teenager. If someone who had sold a bestseller still got flack from critics, fans and celebrities, when what they were writing is not true to what they claim (even though it is their own writing and experience, but exaggerated (fine, exaggerated a lot) and added for spice) , what's more blatant plagiarism? For those who are wondering what the heck I am talking about, go ahead to Jannah to get a full story on the so called story I am telling and the wrath of bloggers (who mostly love to read and their favorite poets ranging from someone as famous as Poe to the obscure ones that you think no one knows).

7. The above point is not suitable for one paragraph, but I couldn't be bothered since I am feverish and I am typing while holding a damp tissue. Yuck, much?

8. With that statement no.7, I hope you people would not borrow my laptop. Haha.

**********************************************************************

Update: Keeping tab with the updates regarding the allegations of plagiarism done by Ms Hudson, some bloggers or readers had also found out that there are maybe more than 1 poem/prose that had been taken from famous poets and published in Ms Hudson book without any credit mention to the original authors.

Seek further and thou shalt find out more?

p/s 1 : I really don't like her latest comment.

p/s 2: My pens are blue, my marker is black
I don't care anymore what you do, since I think you are a fake?

Hahahahha.. Sorry Jannah. My poetry skills are sadly lacking, non-existent even. Maybe if I would do some direct translation from any obscure poets I would looked more intelligent? I promise to credit the author.

8 Rules of Typical Hollywood Horror Movies

The movies may apply only for one or all of the rules. However at least one of the below 'rules' must be applied.

1) Girls. If you are a slut, you will most certainly die first amongst all your friends. So don't ever go skinny dipping with guys nor cheat with your best friend boyfriend. Or worst, cheated by skinny dipping in a supposedly public place with your best friend boyfriend. You are most likely to die in the first 30 minutes.

2) Guys are not spare too. If you are obnoxious, are all talks and thrown a child or a girl in front of you as a shield, you will most certainly be next. After the slut.

3) If you recently been dumped or someone close to you died, and your friends or siblings think its fun to take you somewhere far and remote (read as nobody ever goes there anymore) to camp, caving, lodge, road trip, there is half a chance you will find either cannibals, urban legend monsters, psychotic villagers or roaming serial killers. Girls. Go shopping instead. It's safer.

4) Killers must always always taunt/give reason why they are killing/confessional to their final victims before beheading, choking or whatever deathly blows they are gonna use.

5) When a killer chases you. You must scream like hell first. Then run.

6) If you had run over someone, drown them accidentally, left them to die of starvation or mortal wound without helping, and not tell the authorities or tell the truth. You are pretty much screwed. Karma is going to come either in the form of deranged sadness-induced dementia killers or murderous spirits.

7) Help is futile. Either the police station is wiped out, your phone not working (cut off by killers or your coverage does not expand to woods and cave) or everyone had been killed off.

8) The girl(s) always survive. Always. The least slutty one usually. But usually it is always the girl.

A Pale View of Hills

Had finished reading Kazuo Ishiguro, A Pale View of Hills.Boy, does it make my head spins. Before proceeding, the plot description as below (as freely copy and paste from Wikipedia)

This is the story of Etsuko, a middle-aged Japanese woman living alone in England, and opens with discussion between Etsuko and her younger daughter, Niki, about the recent suicide of Etsuko's older daughter, Keiko. Etsuko's thoughts, however, dwell not on either of her daughters so much as on the more distant past and the mysterious relationship she formed with a woman named Sachiko and with the woman's young daughter, Mariko, some years before in Japan.

After finishing the book, I was surprised. I thought it would be more. More stories. Answers. Backstory. Resolution. But there is none. The story was left hanging.

After I finished the book, various questions arises that left me wondering..

What happened to Ogata San? What is in Etsuko's past? Why did she marry Jiro? What happened to Sachiko in Kobe? Did she ever go to America? Will Mariko ever gotten over her trauma? Who is the woman that bring Mariko and Sachiko such torture? Does she even exist? How did Sachiko ever get to her state of vagrant? How can someone so rich, so educated can be so naive? How did Etsuko leave Japan and fall in love with a British man?

Then afterwards.. after mulling it about a bit, I begin to think. Does Sachiko and Etsuko is the same woman? Are Mariko and Keiko too the same? But both women fate, even though similar, they had different circumstances. Perhaps both women destiny are parallel to each other, and perhaps Etsuko fate takes where Sachiko stories left off.

What is also curious is on her lack of feeling or reaction to Keiko's death. I also see on how it seems her other daughter seems at times to channel Sachiko. I like Etsuko humours her father in law, it gives a lighter feeling to the character. All in all, among all the characters in the books (including her daughters), Etsuko seems to be attuned to Ogata-san, his feelings and way of thoughts.

I like this book. Its narrative is simplistic in its description, yet it provoked powerful image. The dialogue is smooth and hinted at the character's layers of personalities and thoughts. A book that give you more questions rather than answers. It makes you think for once in term of the fiction world, this is the book that represent life, where questions are never answered and the stories never end.

Thought provoking.

p/s: I would love to read more of his works to see if this is his style or does he have different agenda for different books. I would love to read this book again to see what I missed and also if I can pick up any hint if my theories above are true.

Waiting for the rain to stop...

Warning: Rojak post ahead. Jangan bising.

Typing this blog post at new office. Haaa.

Otak sudah lunyai with all those readings which I doubt I understand much of it. You know how you can just read a sentence or paragraph and after you finish reading it, you realized you had no idea what you reading. Not that you don't understand it. Its more like you read it without thinking at all.

I am in such deep shit if I continue like this. Hope some knowledge does penetrate into my addled brain.

Anyway. Oh.. new job is OK. Back to being the unknown again which sucks and trying to find the cheapest place to lunch or even lunch mates obviously sucks too. However there is a consolation that a shopping complex is right below my office. Tanak lunch bole shopping? Boleh? Kinda defeat the purpose of finding a cheap place for lunch though to save money.

Have to start shopping too in spite of my reluctance (reluctant sgt)! My previous workplaces before this have a sort of lackadaisical attitude in terms of office wear, so usually jeans and various blouses was my options. My baju office yang zaman lama2 ituh sume sudah "shrinking" (that's the word 'someone' LOVE to use whenever I accuse him of being fat). Shit. I definitely have to join me some gym. Kena exercise tapi malas. Kurangkan makan tapi selera macam gajah. Macam mana?

Why can't I be one of those "naturally thin" and hate that people accuse them of an eating disorder, when obviously they had learned how to quietly retch into a restaurant toilet bowl.

Back to the topic. Hah. To the well informed readers of this blog (which consist of two of you, including moi) , I think that the whole issues with me resigning early is now udah abes. No more brouhaha or calling back and forth to former employers. Abes kredit nak settlekan mende ini aje. And it ended better than I hope with me only applying leave for the remainder of the days. Seems like I had a total of 12 days of leave. Wow wheee. I had not realized my accumulated leave is that much. Hehehe.. I think I totally forgot my annual leave total. So it may end up with them paying me back instead of moi mengeluarkan duit dari simpanan. Fuh.

I may had to thank my mother for that. Mungkin in spite of what she says, she did doa for better thing job wise. And a thanks needs to be addressed also for my previous colleagues. Gile kena bagi motivation untuk berenti.

Another note, this is what I got for my parting gift.

Best tak? Best kan. Huhuhu. Thanks all colleagues. I know some of you are reading this. Hehehe and sorry that I completely forgot to write a farewell email. I think those are kinda like a bore anyway. But maybe I will compose it OK. A late farewell email. .Hehe. Sorry.

Well... nak kemas2 untuk balik la.

A New Year Alooming

I have to checked the date twice at my computer today for me to realize that its 31st December. The last day of 2007. It had been a whirlwind year.

Last year had been those with hoping and heartbreak for mine. I love and lost and fought to find that love is not what it cranks up to be. Work wise had been those with desperate pleas inside my head, I have to get out of here or I will be forever trapped. Friends wise, I meet the new and I past them by and never look back.

This year had been all about new beginning. I started my job at end of the year 2006. New job. New friends whom I hope I will never past them by. Relationship wise, I have a brand new fiance. A whole new beginning for me who before this will get all choked up if I tied myself to one guy for too long.

It is also a year where I say goodbye for the last time to my arwah grandmother and say goodbye to my eldest sister's family who had been moving to Qatar. A full year of ups and downs with friends and family and fiance.

And an ending with me resigning and beginning another job to put in my ever expanding CV just when the next year comes.

There is this whole brouhaha regarding me resigning again with my current company is still giving me shits on my resignation. For a thing that is so simple and clear cut, I wonder why they have to "putar belit" it so that it makes my head ache. May all will turn out well. I had done this correctly and as ethically as I could.

My new year will not start as smoothly as I hope. However hope it will be better by leaps and bounds from the previous years. 2008 will mark a whole lots of beginning for me too.

A lot had happened this year. I hope a lot better things will happen next year.

I have no resolution. Only wishes that I hope I would do great at new job and have MORE MONEY since I asyik broke.

Happy New Year to all of you. Best of luck and I hope to read a lot more blog posts next year .

p/s: Oh... This post is totally depressing and boring. I will also try to do better at posting next year. Haha..

another p/s: Maybe I will add just another tiny resolution. I will promise to update my fotopages/or which ever photo album I have more diligently.

A Janeite?

Have to confess. My love of Jane Austen at first do not spring from books. Rather, my sister brought home (at that time Video Cassette )the incredibly addicting mini-series of Pride and Prejudice by BBC.

I remembered that everytime after I got back from my boarding school, I would plonked down my bags, get some foods and prepare myself for a 9 hour marathon of Pride and Prejudice (the whole miniseries for what I remembered lasted that long, or less or more.. I may had forgotten). I may had done this monthly. The video cassette suffered incredibly through my repeated viewing (and perhaps my laziness by leaving it lying around ).

My sister bought a DVD collection of it now. It is left untouched. Maybe I will see it again.

From there on, it piqued my interest to pick up her books. Her first book I read was Emma. I thought it was good, funny and loveable. Though I don't like Emma one bit. I read Sense and Sensibility and I don't understand much of it. I read Northanger Abbey and found it a tad bit depressing and more flighty compared to her other work. I read Pride and Prejudice and loved it and wish I could be like Elizabeth Bennet and always wondering if Charlotte Lucas ever finds love. Every year I would reacquaint myself with it (as with Bridget Jones and Anne series). Persuasion is intriguing and I love the story, the heroine is what I should be grown up, staid, sensible. Mansfield Park is a bit overbearing in its morality, but I haven't finished reading it yet. Its my least favorite book by Jane Austen and the heroine have no... gumption.

With all this, does it make me a Janeite? I only knew such a term exist after reading a review of Becoming Jane. I love the movie. I cried buckets. I know. I usually cry at the most average looking movie while moving Oscar-worthy movie usually left me dry.

The story focused on the flirtation Jane Austen and Tom Lefroy had when they were young. It played about that they are in love with each other and suggested that the arrogant Mr Darcy is fashioned after Lefroy. I love James McAvoy (Ewan McGregor move over. I have a new Scottish love), so I love him here. Anna Hathaway is one of my favorite actress too, so the movie is enjoyable by their performance alone. Though it would fare better if I could be saved by the idea of Jane Austen parents having oral sex in the morning.

I also love the character Mr Wisley. He looked like someone *I* would fall head over heels for. Don't worry McAvoy, I would still throw myself at you whenever you are around. I love that Mr Darcy seems to be like a combination of these 2 men (Lefroy and Wisley). However, Mr Wisley maybe fictional, so we can only guess that Lefroy is perhaps the hero Jane Austen molded Darcy over.

We all knew Jane Austen died a spinster. So it is with great interest for many of her fans to know if she could write of love stories that are celebrated till today, she must had been in love. Personally I think she must had. If its with either Lefroy or the mysterious man she met by the sea... who knows. The story of Becoming Jane maybe somewhat of a fictional biopic, but somewhere there's a shred of truth in there. I would love the thought that she did have a deep, passionate and abiding love for someone though.

In keeping with the Jane Austen theme like of this post, I had finished reading the Jane Austen Book Club, by Karen Joy Fowles. I would like to know which critics lauded it as funny. Not. Funny. Not that it isn't any good. I guess its ok. But its just ok. The characters varies, but the secondary characters stories are sometimes left hanging or unsatisfactorily finished.

I wouldn't categorize this story as a light story, nor is it an epic saga. The characters tell their stories of childhood dreams dashed, parents who failed, innocence taken, separation and divorce. It is hardly stuff fluffy chick lit are made of, in spite of what the misleading "critics" quote put prominently at the book. However the characters are as ordinary as everybody else which make it an enjoyable read. Not everyone can get into a wonderful adventure or met a dashing handsome rich young man who fell head over heels for you without no reason at all. And I am glad that the characters do not fall into the same plots as Austen in her novels. That would be a cheap ploy.

It would helped that you had read all of Jane Austen novels before reading this book. Or you would be confused or disinterested in their discussion of Austen's work. I find myself looking forward to this part of the book. Interesting to know others insight of the characters. I myself like to pick apart a book or movies by how the characters are portrayed.

I guess, I would be interested in how the movie played out I suppose, but not enough to pay for it *evil grins*. (Oh yes, there is a movie that had been made of the "Jane Austen Book Club") A more prettier and younger version I suppose.

p/s: I am not a Janeite I guess. Maybe a little bit. A definite fan of her work, but hard core fan? I am not too sure. Am I ?

My Daemon Adan

Browsing at the Golden Compass website. I came across this! A blogthings. Heh.

Anyway, this is quite cool I guess. Since other people can also determine my personality by just putting your mouse over the image below and it will gave you the next instructions to go forward. After all, we only see one part of ourselves, the other see the other half. Told fiance and he is pasting his at his blog, and I am doing the same.

He is hopping mad, (thehe!) since after I done his test, from a monkey his daemon had now turned into a crow. Mine so far was first a snow leopard, then a fox, now a ladybug. (Sumenye ker-aii macam tuannye. Hahahaha. I think heard a distant "perasan" from someone) Or is it a ladybug? Hell.. I am growing senile in my early years.

p/s: Eh dah turn balik to snow leopard. Still cumil. Anyhow it will be changeable sampai a few days had past (expiry date of the quiz I believe).

Engrossing World & Plain Gross

Ok. Quickly recapping the 2 movies I recently seen, Golden Compass and Heartbreak Kid. And touch on the movies that I really, really want to see.

Golden Compass is quite nice. Surpass my expectations really, though to be honest my expectations is actually quite low (I don't get the talking polar bear concept before seeing the movie). All the hoopla regarding Christians and atheism and organized religion is overshadowing the movie kewlness. However their argument maybe valid since when watching the movie, you can't helped but found the parallel meaning behind every point.

Those can also be true for the last year? or previous years Narnia. If Golden Compass seems to promote the idea of atheism, then Narnia have subtle hints regarding Bible and Christianity. However further along the movie, those notions are forgotten and what you are seeing is basically a fairytale movie of a girl with a big destiny to save her world.

Like many says, most of us couldn't give a rat ass what is being promoted in the movie, since any logical person could see that this is a movie, hence for entertainment purposes and fictions are ideas created by lowly person such as ourself. Setting that aside, I found it entertaining and am looking forward on how the story would spun to its new adventure. All those daemons animals looking cute prowling around their human, help to increase the enjoyment. So I wouldn't mind, wasting another RM10 to watch the sequel.

To touch upon another movie that seems to insult my sensibilities or sense or both is the Heartbreak Kid. Hanging out with Shima and Seri and Gons, we decided at the last minute to watch a late night movie. As the only options (aside from ghost stories which we are not interested), are that movie, tengok je la kan.

Reading previous reviews, I had to agree. A movie that make you laugh but offend as well. However I am not laughing as much as I am offended. Sound like a prude? Yes. And no. The Ben Stiller character in this movie, practically forced us to sympathize with him. But. I. Do. Not. Care.

The reasons which he was turn off by his wife is not enough for me to understand why he think it is wise to pursue another woman on his honeymoon. The wife is not even that bad anyway. *Groans* The only consolations I have when watching are that Michelle Monaghan character (I couldn't remember the character name, which just show how little I care of their plight), do not fly into his arm immediately and when the cousin whacked the hell out of this guy. I wish that cousin had beaten him up more.

I guess this is why I can't seem to force myself to watch There's Something About Mary and Knocked Up. I like comedy as much as the next person. This comedy doesn't do it for me. I liked Stiller previous romantic comedy , "Along Came Polly" much, much better.

That aside, I am now stoked to watch the year end blockbuster movies. I hope I Am Legend is good, even though I had accidentally read the ending. Gah! Am also waiting in glee for 27 Dresses (James Marsden... yeay!), Atonement, Alien Vs Predator (should be better than the first), Wanted (another Jolie kick ass sexy movie!) and The Other Boleyn Girl especially. I may want to pick up the novel too, but not till later I guess. I like the score from Love in the Time of Cholera and the song sang by Shakira "Despedida" is beautiful, but the movie is maybe dead depressing perhaps. Maybe I will read the book instead. Benjamin Bratt does makes it tempting though.

p/s: It is so cold that I am wishing that I had bought gloves to wear inside the office. I can hardly type comfortably. Explaining my reluctance to blog selalu.

Randomly I Put My Thoughts

  • Insanely tired and sleepy. Did I not say I have to work today? Pbbthhh to that!

  • Hate people who takes MC inconsiderately. Even when I am sick, still have to work. The guy who is taking MC almost every other week seems to have not been reprimanded whatsoever. Yang kena marah is the people who won't replaced him. Biaskah ini? Worst. Boss. Ever.

  • I am still angry with my boss inability to relay information regarding attendance but expect us to always keep updated when he wants to update things on his own time.

  • *Whacked head on table repeatedly* due to forgetting extension for earphone or cable. No decent songs to hear to keep me awake.

  • Really anticipating to watch Gossip Girl, once I got back home this morning.

  • There is 5 hours and more to go so I can be released the torture I called
    work and watch Gossip Girl.

  • Why am I using bullet points? It do not make sense.

  • Am. Too. Tired. To. String. Together. Coherent. Sentences.

  • Damn it. I do not have RM1 note for my bus fare. Am too poor to even afford public transportation.

  • When is "I Am Legend" coming out?

  • Keira Knightley is too thin. Methink she do not eat enough and is lying about her love for french fries.

  • I still heart Keira Knightley.

  • When will this night ever ends?

  • Thinking of UTP days is bittersweet. Will it ever ends too?

  • Oprah Book Club is overrated. Her taste do not coincide with mine.

  • I love my pillows.

  • I wonder why does the sheep cushion (bantal kecik) I am hugging state "Loveliness Tampon".

  • My fiance is nice.

  • Its nice to go lepaking with the girlfriends and pulling an all nighter last night. Its the last weekend with us as singles, before Shims can officially mark the box stated "Mrs" and looking all sage and wise being a married lady. *theehee*

  • Am bored stiff playing Dynomite. But damn, if its not addicting.

  • Stopping random ramblings now.

Morning wandering.. Eh.. It's already noon..

Am I not a morning person?

If I'm not, then why the hell do I kept on waking up early especially on my cuti days? Or if I am, why even after 5 hours waking up from a 7 hours sleep, am I still yawning and feel like my bed is the most to be at place in the world.

My body clock baffled me. I want that prescription drugs that Britney's taking; the one prescribed for those who work in erratic hours and shifts. But Britney's is waking up at 1pm everyday and her pimples are scaring the hell out of me. So prolly that's no good. Maybe I need to try espresso. But coffee in the morning usually makes me barf.

My mother is in town, preparing to go to perform Hajj. We will be seeing her off to Kelana Jaya, later tonight. Am taking leave tomorrow. Yeay! But got assessment tomorrow for one company. Gah! I wonder what they would be testing. *shudders*

Oh, I am currently loving this little shop in Alpha Angle that always sell some really cute clothes. Some of it are very ah lian-like. (My fiance shushes me when I comment this out loudly in this shop; me and my big mouth and the trouble it always brings me,but alaa.. that sales persons know already laa they are selling very ah lian clothes what). However, you can find a few nice selection that looked quite simple and nice. I love it. The price on the clothes I seen so far, all is below RM50. Which suited me just nicely since I am alwaysssss strapped for cash nowadays. And they always change their collection, so there is always something new whenever I pop in.

I am not wealthy enough to go shopping at shops such as in KLCC and The Curve always. Sobs. But I do love to look around.

Oh.. my brother have a girlfriend. Hehe.. Saje nak announce to the whole world. Since it tickled the whole family silly. My brother is such an unemotional freak. Or too emotional that emotion bounces him off. Who knows. My sister wonders out loud, how does he talk to his gf since he usually only gave us grunts or monosyllable mumbles whenever we ask him anything.

Well, my sister also wonders out loud too why does (ANY) guys like me (the thoughts that those guys must be dumb AND blind was blinking so brightly above her head...... *rues*). So who knows what our family is showing to the whole world and not to us.

Hehhe.. nak usha friendster adik aku la gini... *evil grins*

Defeated

I concede defeat. I can never finish a novel in time for the NanoWrimo. With the getting sick part of the last week, I ignored the writing. Thus no fruits to bear.

Haha. Actually was sick and I couldn't bear the idea to write anything coherently. But laziness is also a part of it and it took me a lot of time to finish a chapter.

I wonder if my story would be continued. I guess it would, but it would be spun slowly. Spanning centuriesssss!!! Ehem.. a bit melodramatic. Nah.. if I have the idea and the free time, I'll submit myself to it and perhaps more chapters will be borne and perhaps an ending.

But now.. I am playing Sims at home. So let the story be for a while. I guess I will try it again in another 2 years time. Why not next year? *winks* Next year on November is gonna be a busy month for me. ( And that's if the current story had finish in 2 years time)

So that's that.

Moving on to new chapters. I couldn't be arsed to comment on the current political rumbling goin on, the eventual price hike for almost everything we see, touch and consume or the entertainment but I do want to say the Hindraf rally.. well.. I don't know what I think about it. I agree on some of the memorandum sent, I found myself disbelieving in others but I maybe ignorant on that matter and I wonder how many people really knows the purpose of the rally. If not a whole lot, it defeated the whole shenanigans.

Ok. Moing to another topic plak (Ala ADHD style) .A bit of a time since I commented on books. So let's touch on those plak. So I just had finish Deafening. And it was beautiful.

Beautifully written of course. The plots and characters are a little too recurrent on many of World War 1 books written, but it doesn't make it a whole less enjoyable.

I am still wrapping my head on all the reason of World War 1 and World War 2, and does the veterans of the World War 1 feels all their efforts awasted when WW2 arrived?

It's hard to say if World War 3 can or did erupt or the matter of when? Some say the new War will be war of econonomy (gahhh.. people had been doing that for centuries, hand in hand in with war of bloodsheds). Some say the Post 9/11, its kinda like a war. I think it is on a bigger and grander scale. Who knows. If it will happen ,we might even don't know it. Since we would be blown up to smithereens by atomic bombs before we realized it.

Truly dreadful thoughts for Friday. Yours truly.

p/s: Am wasting company time reading the WW1 diaries and memoirs. Interesting.

Gile Malas

I hate to go to a meeting at 7pm. I hate to go to a meeting when it is my off day. I hate to go to a meeting where there is no free food. I hate meeting.

Gah!

Planning to go to KLCC jab lagi. Lots to buy, but the big "M" is ever-lacking. So nothing to buy, in summary. Nak tengok wayang, but the time yang sesuai cuma cerita Bee Movie, Beowulf and whateva movie yang Magical Emporium tu. I would feel like choking to death if I saw that movies alone. Wait, Beowulf adalah tidak sweet and senseless. But whatever, the graphic don't appeal to me.

Nak siap2 la nih. Sangat malas. Eh... kenapa blogger tanak add smiley dalam function die. Duh, blogger. Come, on. Improve more.

Senseless. Fine.

25 Candles

Yeay! Birthday today. Boo! Sick today.

Lazy to make a long post. As so... nothing particular to say pon. Thank you for the well wisher even though 90% of your guys birthday I usually forgot. I know, I know I need to make more of an effort to remember. So thank you all, it means a lot to me.

Got a brand new CPU for my birthday present. Hehe.. so no complain from me anymore on how my DVD writer do not work or my computer sucks. Its a small CPU, and the specs, gosh... I am at loss when it comes to specs of computer. All those numbers are confusing to my little pretty head. But its pretty fine, before ni dulu nak main Sims pon tak larat, so now I think my Sims can dance around in glee without my computer hanging.

My officemates also dengan baiknye telah membeli pizza dan membelanja diri ini for pizza. Thank you, opismates. Tak sesia keje tonight. :P

My tunang last night treated me for some Japanese food at Kiku Zakura. He have the photos so probably he will post it at his blog or his photo blog. The food is something like you get from Yoshinoya, but better (duh.. of course considering the price )and have more range. My tunang said it was delicious. He ordered the salmon. Mine not so much, since perhaps I ordered beef. Adalah sangat full bile balik, sampai sudah nauseous. Gile mentekedarah makan sampai nak termuntah. Tapi sedap. Huhuhu.

Oh.. well.. that's all for the birthday post then. Happy Birthday to me and thanks again y'all.

Gile malas nak keje.

Cheap Books! Cheap Books! Come and read Cheap Books!

What did I do last Saturday morning?

.
.
.
.
.

I bought these..

I read Suanie blog early Saturday morning when I was working, mentioning about the Pearson & Penguin Warehouse Book Sale at PJ. Since its a bit near from workplace, I decided to go after work with the fiance. The Warehouse book sale is quite big and it had a lot to offer for everybody. It came to a point that I was so tired (with not sleeping due to night shift) from scanning rows and rows of books that I had to just randomly stand at some spot in front of the table, take a breather and Tada! found what I was looking for.

All those above are what I bought. All around 16 or 17 books and spent almost RM200!! 3 of those 17 are my fiance's photography books. The book cost around RM10 - 15 and the hardcovers one usually at RM20. This is the most I ever spent on books at one go (excepting text books of course). A good bargain and I am not regretting it one bit. Very happy in fact. Early birthday present from moi to meself. Yeay!

The list is.... panjang. Malas plak nak type. But as you can see bought 2 Gaiman's work, got 2 of the Adrian Mole diaries series, manage to find one book that I had been searching for years and thrown in some Classic books to ease my guilt on buying those guilty pleasure chick lits. Wanted to get familiarize with Woolf works and try to see if I would like another work of Kazuo Ishiguro.

Stack of books. Sangat happy, so played around with the books after got home. Crazy!

There's a lot of chick lit (a lot of it from popular authors too) , and mystery/thriller too, Cromwell and Patterson, few of Clancy I see strewn about. However, I refrained from buying Patterson and Cromwell (except Women's Murder Club series) but I just couldn't resist that Predator book. A bit bummed tho that I can't find or they don't have Michael Crichton books.

You can still catch the Warehouse sale since it is there until 21st November. The address is Pearson Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Lot 2, Jalan 215, Off Jalan Templer, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

I get giddy in trying to decide which books I want to read first. Yeay!

Oh, the weekend before this I went to another Warehouse Book Sale at Low Yat Plaza (next to it actually). Not as big as the Pearson one, the books are cheaper but most of it are those by unknown authors. Its get very dizzy and headachy in trying to find the books you want to buy in a Warehouse sale (since there is no such thing called organization), much less unknown books by unknown authors. So at the Low Yat one, I only bought 3 since it is just too tiring to read all those summary. The books I bought there are currently on my Currently Reading list and reading Deafening so far, it's quite good.

Will not have to spend on books for at least another 3 or 4 months. Reading galore ahead!

Am. So. Behind.

Its November bitches. Ehem.

November is a very special month for me. Becoz its my birthday. Hahaha. Its like a month long celebration. Cewah. Macam sangat special.

Actually not. But I do kinda like it when November came. (The anticipation of presents kut.. Hehehe. Sungguh materialistic)

But my birthday.. not till few days yet.. (uiks.. agak hampir jua), but that's not this post is all about.

No sirree. I am writing because of NaNoWriMo. I sign up. Yeps. Yeay for writing. Boo for procrastination. Knowing me, I haven't started anything yet. My word counts is so pitiful I am embarassed to announce it to you guys.

But its the thought that count. Ha! Right? No?

Writing day after day (more like a day in aweek after a day in a week), I found out that being a writer is tough. Finding a coherent plot is a tough steel of nut to break. Writing headlong recklessly is even tougher. I found that I liked editing my stories, damn it. And pondering at the words.

Shit. I am suddenly getting cold feet. WHY DO I EVEN SIGN UP FOR THE STUPID THING WHEN I HAVE ABSOLUTE NO PREPARATION NOR CLEAR IDEA FOR A NOVEL? I can never finish this in time. Argh..

:: typing furiously in imagination due to writer's block ::

Oh, I wrote/typed my story in another blog. If you care enough to look in my blogger profile. However, access is restricted, unless I am prepare to submit myself to pure humilliation.

:: still walking round and round thinking what to write ::

Stardust

.... is amazing.

It is even better than the book or almost borderline there. The first time that I ever hailed a film as so... the movie is better than the book. (Tho reading Neil Gaiman interview, he might takes an issue with this statement) Wow. Let me gape at that statement for a while.

Seriously, its better than some of the fantasy flicks. There are some things that are off ( the pirate ship for instance, I'm not sure.. what is off.. but like it should be better).... but most are OK. Very tongue in cheek and not the conventional magical fairytale and rigid righteousness of most fantasy stories. But that's Neil Gaiman for you.

The intro kinda baffled me tho. What is it trying to narrate? What is the question? What is the answer? More like.. the point is? Skipped the 1 minute intro of bafflement, it was a joy to watch after.

The movie manage to turnaround the boring part of the book to the most delightful scenes in the movie. The climax of the movie is done nicely, as some critics pointed out, not as original (and the climax in the book differs with the movie), but at least its not as anti climactic as I expected. It even turned out nicely even if its as cliche as it could be.

Robert De Niro as the fabulously flamboyant sky ship pirate captain is fabulous. Claire Danes is rightly cast , she is simply luminous. I missed Claire Danes at the screen. I am still searching for Stage Beauty. The hero, Charlie Cox, ehem.. yummy. What is his age again as so I might not feel guilty? His IMDB is seriously lacking in resume. Act more as so I can salivate after you! (Which means, I had taken a peek of his IMDB and there is nothing to feel guilty of)

Come, come. Watch Stardust before it is gone from your cinema. I walked out smiling thinking that I want to buy the DVD. The original DVD. Ain't that something.

Cats and Mess

At first this photo was meant for my IG story, but the mess is too much. So I opted not to, and in a whim decided to just post it here. Beca...
