The Black Magician Trilogy

I felt before this that I haven't used Goodreads to its full potential, but am going to start now. With Goodreads, it became easier to keep track the books I had read and reviewed.

So I had bought the Black Magician Trilogy entah bile lamanye dahulu. The books are quite satisfying and make for a fast read. Reviews below:

The Magicians' Guild (Black Magician Trilogy, #1)The Magicians' Guild by Trudi Canavan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I like the characters and tone of the story. The chase became quite boring, and it only begin to pick up around 3/4 of the book, which is no worry to me because I got the next book on my bookshelves.

The Novice (Black Magician Trilogy, #2)The Novice by Trudi Canavan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The second book in the trilogy is a lot more satisfying maybe since we are reading only about the Guild, so I don't felt thrown from one place to the other like the first book.

So it is quite exciting for me to get to know of this world. It feels Harry Potter-ish to me, as a lot of it deals with how Sonea getting along with her classmates but less teen/children drama, while Harry Potter have his small circle of close friends, Sonea still have none. There is basically no happy ending in this one for all.

The High Lord (Black Magician Trilogy, #3)The High Lord by Trudi Canavan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The tone of this book is darker than rest, and maybe because I read 3 books successively, it is quite a surprise to me that Sonea is already a young woman. (while the magicians called her as a young woman right from the start, it doesn't feel like it).

It deals mostly with Akkarin and Sonea, the reasons why Akkarin uses black magic. At the end of the book, we are dealing with war, and the actions being described here is fast pace but clear enough that we don't feel rush when reading the book.

I don't quite like the ending but understood why it must be so. I felt a bit sad after finishing the whole trilogy as it is my thought that this book is the best of the three, but there is another set of the Guild books, that I am looking forward to buy and read.

Depends actually.

Kalau no interruption and I like the book, I can finish it in the weekend.

Kalau boring, it can take weeks.

Usually it takes me around 2 weeks nowadays to finish a book due to chores, works and tvs!

Aini and Zaki's Wedding

Promised the girls that we will attend Aini's wedding at Melaka on last Saturday, but at the last minute I changed the plan to go to Zaki's side of the wedding instead at Air Molek yesterday since on the same day there was also another kenduri potong jambul at my brother in law's kampung at Rembau. We manage to reach there around 15 mins after 1pm just before the pengantin berarak. Nice timing indeed. So alang-alang2 tu aku join je belakang rombongan pengantin masuk while my husband duk ambik-ambik gamba. Anyway the food was yummeh (sambal sotong!!! My Fav!) and the wedding is really traditional-like with gamelan music and silat. Aini looks really prettyyy and Zaki's sooo happy and jovial-like. Selamat Pengantin Baru to Aini and Zaki. The pic above is from my husband camera taken by tah sape and I will upload most of the remaining gambar kenduri in Facebook, sooner or later. Gamba kat Rembau tu, tanya Shamani die nak upload kat mana as the pics are at his camera too

Why does my heart cried Feelings I can't fight You betrayed me But just don't deceived me And please believe me when I say I love you [From the movie Moulin Rouge] And why didnt he? He's playing hot and cold.. hot and cold with me. I can't stand it. Yet I always come back for more. I am a true blue masochist. I don't even ask him to love me. I just ask him to miss me. And he couldnt even do that.. or say it. I just want to see his face once more. To see his lovely smiles, his small laugh. Why couldn't I forget him. When he could so easily dismissed me.. he could just easily come back and messed my sense and sensibility. While my tears fall down to my keyboard, yet at the same time I was making jokes and soothing him telling him "no worries". I don't ask for much... a smile, a pat on the hand. I miss him so much. Yet I am so afraid to let it shows. Becoz then if I show it... it will hurt 10 times more.
