Fall 08 Shows : My Kinda Thoughts

Enough of wedding prep's post I say. Here is a long post on TVs series! Yeay!

This post is kinda overdue eh?

Usually I would somewhat recap or tell what shows I am gonna watch. But laziness pervades and I got kinda busy and too many people are hogging the computer at home, so it left only the laptop at work where sometimes I am too distracted to click on "New Post".

Anyhoooo... don't you guys think that this Fall 08 show is kinda dull. Last season is like series galore. Then the writers strike kinda put a damper on the whole thing which left some of my favorite shows in a convoluted storyline as the season have to be shortened and not to mention some had been mercilessly axed.

Looking at the list before seasons start, there is one or 2 that is kinda promising but nothing really make me all hype up. Well maybe 90210 because the appearance of Shannen Doherty. Also Dollhouse. But that is reserved for midseason viewing. GILER LAMA.

Thus since I do not have so much time to spare nowadays. I chose to watch these:

1. True Blood

Plot summary taken from IMDB.
The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a barmaid living in Louisiana who can read people's minds, and how her life is turned upside down when the Vampire Bill, walks into her place of employment two years after vampires 'came out of the coffin' on national television.

Starring Anna Paquin. All it need are the words "vampire" and "Anna Paquin", I will be watching without caring whatever it is the story they throw at me. It is not that bad. Only really graphic. 5 years back, prudish me might think SATC is a really nekkid show. But compare to SATC, this show is like soft core porn flick at times. Not only I thought of that. Some guys tell me the same thing.

Aside from the consistent nekkidness, it is a pretty engaging show. It push the cliffhanger at the end of each episode a bit too hard a bit, but the storyline is kinda interesting. The vampires lore. The serial killer mystery. The twisted way the town people are really like. And Sookie story herself. It come together quite nicely.

2. Fringe

Plot summary taken from IMDB.
A television drama centered around a female FBI agent who is forced to work with an institutionalized scientist in order to rationalize a brewing storm of unexplained phenomena.

I only heard about this show after so many people rave on how incredibly marvelous this show would be coming from the creator of Alias. That same people turned out to be disappointed as the show seems to be mediocre.

I am never a fan of Alias. And I don't have any expectations of the show, so I like it. Its not the best of show. It doesn't have the "Omph" factor such as Heroes did in their first few episodes, (but hey... looked how incredibly lame it is now). But I think I like to settle with mediocre and their build up is kinda OK. Also I don't hate Anna Torv as much as other people. I think she is pretty likable and like what she brings to her character. So stop comparing her to Jennifer Garner la weh. Both are very different characters. I would think less of Abrams if he would try to emulate Sidney Bristow character again in another show.

3. 90210

Plot summary taken from IMDB.
A Kansas family relocates to Beverly Hills, where their two children adapt to the infamous social drama of West Beverly Hills High

I have to say that their premiere episode kinda sucks. The girls are ridiculously skeletal (these also include their moms), the boys are just OK excepting for the hot Rob Estes and Shannen Doherty don't look at all fine ( Remembered her in Charmed? She was incredibly hot. Hotter than the overrated Alyssa Milano). I guess I was expecting something edgy and got something totally wholesome that makes my teeth hurts.

However from episode 6 it gets a bit better. The storyline and dialogues are still lame, Jessica Stroup still looks like she weight about the same as my cat, and that Annie girl still makes me feel like I want to strangle her with a scarf. But it did improve a bit. Brownie points for that!

Not my favorite show, but it is one of the show to watch when I want some totally light and fluffy thing to watch when I am distracting myself with some other things.

4. Privileged

Plot summary taken from IMDB.
A Yale-educated journalism major reluctantly becomes a live-in tutor for two spoiled grand-daughters of a Palm Beach cosmetics business magnate.

This show is one my favorite. It is really cute and I guess I love the characters. It's the usual fluffy show, but the main characters are depicted with so much flaws that I like it when I see a character on tv that hit close to home (character wise laaa).

It is a show that is targeted at girls, so guys would rolled their eyes at this. Altogether, its a fun show and I found myself looking forward to it every week. Also Rose is totally cute. I think I am enthralled the whole episode just by watching her eyes. Never had I seen such a big expressive eyes in a real person. Macam dalam anime.

The show however do not have a bright future ahead. The ratings kinda small and there is a very probable chance that it would be canceled.

4. The Ex List

Plot summary taken from IMDB.
A woman explores all of her past relationships after a psychic tells her she's already dated her future husband.

Plot written there is not entirely correct. Its more like a woman met a pyschic who tells her that she only have 1 year left to meet and wed the man (THE ONE) she once had past romantic entanglement with. So she went and explores all of her past relationships.

The Ex List had been axed after just airing 4 episodes. I haven't even manage to watch the first episode yet when I know it had been canceled, but I decided to watch 2 episodes first. Just so my effort on acquiring this is not all in vain.

To tell you the truth, I was not very taken with the idea of this show (macam agak ludicrous), except the earlier critics seem to favor it. Watching 2 episodes so far,its a breezy , casual show. An OK show. But it seems a bit backdated. Like I said, I like a show with a little edge in it or at least very likable/interesting characters. It doesn't have both. Maybe these are the reasons they are axed so quickly?

5. Samurai Girl

Plot summary taken from IMDB.
A teenage girl tries to balance a normal life as the adopted daughter of wealthy parents with the Samurai traditions of her ancestors..

The Plot above is not entirely correct too, but I could not care less to rectify this as I am sure many of you could not care to watch this show.

OK. This is not a new series. It's more like miniseries. But I watch it together2 with all these new series. I have to say... this show macam series or movies spawned by Disney. Too many romanticized Eastern mythology with the predictable Caucasian hero. *Groans*

It's not very engaging, nor good, the dialogue are a bit painful at times. Unless you are 14, I do not think you would enjoy this. But I guess I must have a tender spot for bad show, so I just keep on watching. Or more prolly is that if I start watching a show, no matter how bad it is, I want to know the ending. Sick right? But hey... At least got 3 parts je. Brendan Fehr is still hot, thank you very much. It makes my hour and a half watching this show more bearable.

So itu ajeeer. Tapi let's not forget a whole lot of other previous series I am watching. How do I manage the time to watch it all, I have no idea myself. A lot of series, I only manage to watch 2 or 3 episodes je. But I will catch up. No worries.

The Mentalist is another new series getting rave reviews, tapi sebab aku malas la nak tengok cite depressing (kinda like procedural crime solving thingies. A bit like Psych , minus the wackiness) so I am not acquiring it. If it is on TV which I think it probably will be, maybe I''ll take a peek.

Blabbety blah blah blah...

OK. Let's get all these preparation off my chest. Sorry if you guys are getting bored, but nak cerita jugak la as this is me blog.

So, there are some things that still left unsettle. I am in panic regarding that. But it seems like I am the only one to be so. Gah! Ugh... there are still cards still need to be sent, baju to be paid and dry clean, things to be ordered and reserved and stuffs to buy. *PANIC MODE ON*

It felt like it is time went by so fast, and I can't wait for this wedding to be over. I do not particularly excited on the wedding. More on the holiday! I want long holiday! Even though the holiday may encompass preparation and crazy dealing with people of all sorts and packing and repacking.

The wedding borang is happily finished. I took a leave and went to JB with fiance to settle it. Its been a crazy running around town that whole day. The last minute saksi signing. Thank god for old classmate and nearby relative. The surat perakuan bujang needed to be obtained from ketua kampung where he is only available after lunch hour.

Also there is an incredibly garang makcik behind the counter at JAIJ yang approve borang permohonan perkahwinan ni and basically make me feel like a a petrified 8 year old kid with snot running down her nose. She basically shouted at me (not just me yee.. everybody in the room also) "Awak tak dengar ke saya marah orang lain ni. Pasal kena fotostat borang. KENAPA AWAK TAK DENGAR AND PEGI FOTOSTAT". GAH! You think I would hear what random people shouted at other people kee... dah la tak cakap dalam borang. Nor anywhere else stated that we need to provide a photostat copy. Hish. Aku pantang kena marah ni, tanpa sebab. Tapi time tu cuak je laa.

Hahaha..... And my borang dihantar just in the nick of time. Dah anta je kat makcik garang tu she said "Dah tutup" dengan kasarnye, but I quickly said "tapi tadi suruh bagi balik lepas dah betulkan balik borang ni" (which is indeed true). Terus die amik borang tu and approve and put it at the tray kakak yang akan interview candidate pengantin plak. Fuh!

Then also suddenly my HIV borang tu tetiba missing. I was baffled. I already triple checked. However, thank goodness that I also submit the salinan HIV borang which also was signed and cop by the nurse at the time. So the staffs there pon nak balik, said this was acceptable enough. Called my mom today, and seems that the imam thing is also settled, thank God too.

You know what? This post is not fun at all. I hate this post. So I am ending it with a picture of me enjoying roti kari while walking to Kotaraya at JB. Sangat best ok. Fresh out of the oven, still piping hot curry buns. Nyum Nyum. (Well, maybe just the pic of the bun)

Eat it while it's hot!

From whence it came, out from the belly of the roaring aging monster...

p/s: Huh.... I don't know what else to P/S about... eh... byknye grammatical and nonsensical errors in this post. I would usually have those, but kali ni mcm over plak. Sorry la yek.. sometimes biler nak cepat my thoughts run faster than my fingers.

Oh the controversial baju...

The issue is somewhat solved. Well not entirely, but its not as disastrous as I thought it would be.

First of all, thanks all for your concern. Huhu, I am very touched indeed by all your concerns.

Well, I finally got my wedding dress. Baju kurung la more specifically. Bile cakap wedding dress, gowns and frills comes to mind.

Last Friday, I had already hardened my resolve to go and buy a new dress or beg some seamstresses to jahit me a new one. However luck as have it, come early on Saturday morning. The tukang jahit, SMS me apologizing (not profusely enough I think.. hehe) saying that she was very ill and had closed her shop for a while. (Tapi kenapa tak letak notice ek?). I was really relieved that I do not admonish her. (Kang die bakar baju aku sape nak ganti...)

She said that she will ask her husband to give me the dress on Saturday. It do not come. Then on Sunday. It do not come. Then on Monday, it do not come. I am beginning to be jittery and start thinking again on Plan B. Then yesterday, she finally gave me back the dress. Ingatkan nak tegur la, lain kali letak notice ke ape ke kan, but her husband pick an inopportune time to give me back the dress (I was in training at the moment so time tu pikir ambik, bayar, naik opis balik cepat2), so no admonishment came forward. Hurm.

(tapi I am like that, kenkadang time tu je marah lebih then I totally forgot)

Well, so I got back the dress after all eh. The dress itself was OK. The beads was nice enough, however the baju is a bit besar (SAYA SUDAH SLIM! Cewah!). Her husband did mention just call her back if any alteration or nak add beads lg kan. Tapi macam tak berani plak. Takut nanti tah bile lagi plak akan dapat the baju nanti.

So I brought it to one of the seamstress that I also upah to jahit the other wedding dress, since she seems to do quite an excellent job on that other dress.

Kiranye dah ada la solution. All ends well I guess, as soon as I got my dress and probably brought it to dry clean a bit as ade lg kesan2 chalk kat baju. Ugh.

p/s: Obama dah jadi President. None of our concern eh?

I am cursed!

Warning: This is a post full of expletives and swearing. If you think your sense and sensibilities might be offended, go elsewhere.

Fuck! Fuck! Double fuck! Double fuck does not even cover this. This is like a humongous loads piles of fuck waiting to just flatten you. Or already had.

The thorne of trauma in my life now is the boutique that supposedly to be handling my wedding dress had fucking dissapeared. Gah! Gah! Gah! This is a situation so fitting to panic. I want to panic. Maybe I am panicking. God! I need a paper bag to breath through.

The gist is, the dress should had siap like last weekend. But I went back to JB. So I decide to go back on Tuesday to amik the dress. Then it fucking close. Ok enough. Then I went back on Wednesday and Thursday. The light is on, but the door is locked. You also have no idea how many times I called and called but the calls went unanswered. On Thursday (yesterday), it seems like the shop is in dishevelled state. Magazines piled up in the middle of the stores. And most of the rack of clothes is gone is except for 1 or 2. I left a note. The owner didn't yet called. I came again just now and the kedai is fucking empty! Only last month I went and jalan-jalan in front of the shop it is operating per usual.

OMG! I feel like puking. I called my fiance to inform the fucked up state of this situation. I also quickly made up my mind to go to Plan B is which buy a ready made dress or sewa one. Oh God. My friends would know how I loathe to sewa a dress. And I feel I may rage on my wedding day if I have to wear a sewa dress on my freaking wedding day. Contratry to popular belief after finding the shop empty, I did not have an epic bitch moment or lose my shit right there and then. I went walking. The upside of working at Jalan TAR is there are loads of kedai kain, so I walked around in daze and walked around and around in Harrisons and Alina's like some dumbwit trying to sort through an acceptable alternative to this horrible situation.

It is too late to make a wedding dress. But it can happens via loads of money! But I couldn't find yet any acceptable kain or baju on that particular color to ganti back that baju. And I traipsed all the way to Kuala Terengganu and dragging Lini while berpeluh-peluh to search for my kain. And bukannye murah ok kain tu! And this is what happened! If I could sobs here and now, I would.

Why would the owner would do this? Apakah die sudah bangkrap and mahu tutup kedai? Wouldn't it be possible to call all her clienteles to give back their kain? And their deposit is such sungguh mahal ok for them to treat their customers as such? OMG. Adakah die pindah kedai or renovate? If that's the case wouldn't you put up some kind of note on your premise saying you had moved and such such and give your contact details or forwarding address so fellow customers would not go berserk! Takkan tak reti buat business kut. Orang jual todi pon tulis notice kalau die nak gi cuti or move elsewhere!

Or adakah die telah give up menjahit and probably say "Fuck this, I am selling all these fuckers clothes off and quitting sewing. I want to jet off travelling around the world". Or could she possibly died??? If she did, any contact number or notice of death would also be necessary kan? I do not have any sympathy if I do not know the real reason ok!!!

Fuck la kan. I am so pissed. Miranda said in SATC "There's a 'shit motherfucker, fuck shit' situation?" . This situation warrants a Shit. Motherfucker. Fuck. Shit.

Oh and save your preaches. I am here to complain and would calmly proceed to see what can be done in the next few days (and if you guys have any suggestion where or who can help us would also be very helpful). But this is the place for me to rant. And probably to my girlfriends later where we would rant together. Ugh. I need to lie down.

Pening la

Gah!

So currently I am distributing my kad kawin. And it is becoming a bother on who I want to invite and not invite or who to distribute card too. Pening laaa.

So I turned to Friendster, and that does helps a lot but not so much. I mean la kan, if somebody change their name or nick to something like "SweetGirl", ade aku pedulik ke nak click-click banyak2 names tu to check who you are. Then they choose to be all witty kekononnye and put nonsensical thing in place of schools and workplace dan tak upload gamba plak tuh. Tension.

And there's a lot of people (relatives) that I have to give by hand tapi macam tak sempat je. *Run around in panic* Gah! Gah!

Pastu kan.... kad macam tak cukup jeeeeeee. So kalau sesiapa yang tak dapat card tu and got the online version or SMS je (mmg nak kena pelangkung), mintak ampun yaa. Gomen ne. Jangan majuk2 yeee. I am prioritizing on the cards and any one of you who are getting married or had gotten married will surely understand if I said I run out of card ok. The priorities are of course the relatives, the jirans, the somewhat relatives (my BFFs) and of course those who had sent to me your wedding invitation cards.

Thus I am not actually extending an open invitation in my blog. Silly la kan. Its like inviting the whole WWW which encompasses billions. (While the reality is my readers are like less than 10). Wahahaha. Anyhow to my 10 or so readers, do drop me an email on your address for the cards.. Of course these include only for readers I know of (That also include you Jannah, I am inviting you! Drop me an email!) or people I already knew. Don't be mad if I send you the online version eh?

p/s: One ofmy BFFs just told me she can't come because of work. I am very, very, very sad! But I totally understand of course. But she'll try to make it before or after the wedding to see me in a while :) Happy!

Kitty Woe is on Me

So my fiance went to Miri for a couple a days, so I was being given temporary custodial right for our kitten.

However I totally phailed at the job as she is now at a vet under observation as she fell from the first floor to the ground floor. I was playing with her and stopped for a while. Before this she was playing around, running around madly at the first floor near the stairs. Then she stood still for a while in front of my sister's door. I took a step toward her and guess that she took it as a sign that playtime start again she went around running madly that she didn't realize the gap near the stairs and fell right through.

Oh, oh, oh. My heart breaks even remembering that horrific sight now. My brother called out "Kucing kau jatuh! Tengkuk die macam patah" (Your cat fell. Her neck looks like broken). I rushed downstairs and found her writhing around in pain, her neck looks stiff and kinda twisted. I was in sobs. I took her upstairs and lie her on top of me. She somehow twist back her neck and still yowling painfully. Then I took her back to my room and call a vet. He told me what to do and I rubbed her with gamat and bundled her up in towel and kain batik. For a while, I was just staring at this tiny wisp of a kitten fearing that she would die right in front of me.

Somehow she just lie there so still that I keep on checking if she was still breathing. She make a sudden movement once in a while, but it is apparent all she wants to do is lie still. I guess I was in tears so much that my sister persuaded my brother in law to give me a ride and brought her to a 24 hour vet. Where she is still there now :(

She had been given X Ray and blood test and so far things had been good. But not better. Her movement is still shaky, she is so stressed out that things had not improve and we are fearing she might have some spinal injury that may cause her hind leg to not function properly and the doctor tell me with all her serious face "If that happens, the prognosis is not good". My heart dropped further.

I am so so so sad. Perhaps not many people understand why anyone would pay so much or worry so much about a pet, and I only have her for a couple of weeks. But she is so precious and lovable. She feels like family :(

Ok. I am even in tears writing this post. My fiance is not so much :P He said it is weird to see me yang hati so kental to cry. Gah! What do men knows. Hahaha. (Tah2 die pon nangis ok... )

Anyway let's hope she gets better aight! Pray for her and cross your fingers! We will be going to the vet later on to see her again.

Oh and her name is Fasha Sandha. Hahaha.

I am a glorified freeloader and loving every moment of it

Boss nak blanjer dinner tapi kena tolak sebab kena jumpa photographer hari ni. I can't postpone again la kan? ( Dah postpone before as kena stayback at office for a while) Nanti orang cakap janji Melayu and even though I am Melayu and usually I am on time and try my damnedest to be there, so tu pon janji Melayu jugak tu. Cuma yang ni adalah, janji Melayu yang bukan hampesh. Hahahaha... tak masuk sense.

Gah! SO I MISSED OUT CHILLIES FOR PELITA MAMAK? You! Yes, you yang komplen bile I cakap ade dinner FREE. Tremble for your life (or ears) tonight.

:P . Pelita makanan die tak best.

Owh... btw. Bestnye able to meet again the lovely buddies. Can we do that every week? Hahaha. Susah la kan especially nowadays everyone seems to be so busy. I am so sad! But rase lupa trouble in life when meeting up with the girls again.

And at least I manage to singgah at Yong's open house on Friday to distribute my wedding invitations. Before stepping onto Yong apartment complex, I took a deep breath. Then after stepping out. I let out a big breath that makes me dizzy with relief and.... and ape? It's always hard to meet up with old friends again. Especially those that we haven't seen in the longest time. To put up a smiling and jolly facade. And especially to those that had seen your life topsy turvy. Or the one that make your life topsy turvy?

But like I said meeting up with the girls and laughing like a hyenas ignoring all disapproving eyes seems like the next best thing to receiving a billion dollar or perhaps mind shattering sex? Hahaha . But the gist in this paragraph is, all it takes is for some really uproarious laughing and all is well with MY world now.

p/s: Pelita makanan die tak best.

Glowing

There's a scene in the Stardust movie that I love, where Yvaine dance with Tristan. While Tristan whirl and whirl her around in his arms, Yvaine kept on glowing brighter and brighter.

I guess some glow the brightest where only the blind remain unseen. While some only those with the keenest eyes can detect that glow.

Hmmmm. I want to watch Stardust again.

p/s: Bosannye kena keje hari ni. Kalu tak dah habis dah 3 4 rumah round beraya.

Tataw nak letak ape kat sini...

Well, seems like it had been some time yeps, when I last update. I can offer no excuse. I just don't feel particularly typey.

Oh... my weekend was spent on watching Angels and buying some things. And I guess trying to watch the series I acquired. So much to do, so little time. Even with so many things to watch, I am still trying to see how I can get myself a Felicity box set. And that 70s show. Huhuhu, and perhaps some collection boxsets of BBC period dramas? Heeeee.

Damn it. I feel like going back to Vietnam to just buy dvd box set. Its crazy cheap there. Here, we have to pay more than RM50 for a season. Over there, its less than RM150 for the whole series seasons. Usually around RM 120 or sometimes less. Depends on how many seasons are there, as the more they are, the higher the price as it only means there would be more DVDs.

What's more, they stored the whole season in 1 DVD only. Gile best OK. And in such a nice lovely compact case... See my Angel here.

SDC10043

So nipis one for the whole freaking series seasons (Season 1 - 5). I bought these box sets on my 2nd trip there. The first time I bought my series dvds in Vietnam, there is no slim box sets. Most of them are kinda like the one we can get in Malaysia. But still cheaper! And they gave you a box. Unlike here where...

SDC10152

Nak amik gamba pon cam tak bermaya je kaver camni

And Malaysia put themselves as the no 1 provider of pirated stuffs? Ptuiii! I am so tempted to buy a ticket to Ho Chi Minh for just buying DVDs. Sape nak join??

Tagged Raya pulak from Some and Kak Mel

Berapa pasang baju raya anda tahun ini dan kaler apakah?
Baju Raya tahun ni ade 2 - 1 is actually for the office, alang2 pakai je time raya. I like baju kurung. One is kain yg telah diberi oleh fiance's mom so buat je la. Nanti raye haji pakai kat sana. Both is baju kurung. Tidak bergitu gemar baju kebaya.

Apakah makanan raya tradisional kegemaran anda?
Sayur lodeh. Especially laden with sambal kacang and sambal sotong. Satay goreng mak adalah sangat best apabila dimakan bersama ketupat or nasik impit or even in sayur lodeh. Also Masak Lemak Perut adalah semestinye dimakan banyak2 with sayur lodeh or ketupat. Beriani my mom made for raya pon sangat best. Especially dhalca and ayam panggang. And acar rampai. Laksa johor where I would topped the laksa lavishly with sambal belacan. Lapaaaanyeeeee tatkala menaip ini. That is what my mom usually cook for the first and second raya and alllll is favorite la. There are a few other dishes too but kate favorite kan. Mana tak berat badan bertambah balik raya. Gilo.

Dulu ade soto and lemang. But dibeli or dibuat oleh arwah nenek and datuk. They are both gone now, so the raya food lessening. Sedih kan?

Apakah biskut raya kegemaran anda?
I used to like Bahulu. But not many places yang ade sedap. So dah kurang gemar. Tart nenas sangat suke. I also like ALL kuih raya at rumah Mak Nah (I am kinda vague on the exact relations). Almost all are homemade and very delicious. Adik beradik sume macam excited je bile pegi umah Mak Nah thinking of the biskut raya there. Bile balik dari situ, balang2 kueh raya rumah Mak Nah are either empty or almost empty. Gile mentekedarah and tak taw malu betul.

Berapa banyak duit raya anda dapat n spend untuk bagi kepada budak-budak?
Anak buah dapat lebey dr RM10, sometimes RM50 pon. Bergantung kepada kekayaan. Tahun ni sume decrease okeh. Makcik tadek duit. Kazen mazen either got RM10 or Rm5 depends how big and small they are. Yang lain2 tu RM2 cukup la kan. My mom, maids at the house tu tinggi sikit la dapat.

Apakah aktiviti malam raya korang?
Duduk umah tengok dvd.

Nak tag kat.. sesape yang nak jawab dalam my comments box.

p/s: Pictures taken from my new camera. My first camera. Squeal! It is for hantaran though, so testing2 baru. Habis la. Lepas ni jadilah camwhore blog (CB). Haha.

Thou shalt have flood in thou abode

For the second time.

Ugh.

So, my brother and I manage to avoid the massive jam known as the long public hols crawl on the North South Highway. Just when I think I can jump onto my beloved bed, alas its not to be. Because somehow karma thinks I was a bitch and gave me retribution in a sort of a flood. In my room. Only in my room. Somehow the water pipe overhead of my room is feeling leaky and decided to leak itself all over my room.

Hmmmm... Understandably I am feeling crap. Pissy at no one in particular. Incredibly frustrated at this happening again in a different house, different time, same circumstances. Did I mention again how crappy I am feeling? Let me just say it once more with a feeling. Crap.

However my sister asked me to be grateful. I, of course did no such thing and proceeded to bang and clatter and throw everything in sight. Did I also mention that I can have a pretty epic bitch moments whenever certain opportunity arises. Well... I feel this situation is a fitting opportunity indeed.

So after the meltdown and 2 or 3 episodes of Angel. My particular feeling of ravaging the world somewhat subsided. So I guess my sister is right that I should be grateful.

Let me count the ways on how grateful should I be.

1. Unlike last time, I am grateful that the water is not as deep and travel as far as the other rooms (my room enough should be dandy k) and floor is not ruined completely compare to the last time it happened at the apartment. To my sister who's the co-owner of the house, the floor is somewhat ruined, but not so bad la. Maybe we should take pictures?

2. The water only covered somewhat half of my room and only half of the flooring is somewhat ruined. It also covered a quarter of the landing area next to the staircase.

3. The leaky pipes is kind enough only to leak water on top of cupboards which it then proceeded to soak my clothes and underwears. Gah! My wonderful and some kinda expensive clothes!

4. The clothes are only damp and not discolored (I may need to check that out thoroughly to make sure). Half of my wardrobe are currently being dried out. I am grateful that half of my wardrobe are stored elsewhere or I may be forced to go to work in inappropriate clothes.

5. I am grateful that I do not store my bags there. Clothes can be dried up. Bags leceh sikit and have 70% chance to be ruined.

6. I am also very grateful that I do not store my barang hantaran there.

7. My brother in law was present to uncover this disaster and proceeded with the maid to clean up my room. I actually needed to do the post cleanup only. So yeah, I am very grateful for that ( I meant that in a non sarcastic way).

8. I have a fiance now who will help me to move heavy objects around and some intense scrubbing and mopping this weekend for post cleanup galore!

9. Perhaps this a way of exercise to burn some hari raya lemakness.

10. Unlike last time, my books are spared. Which I am very, very grateful. As books will be completely ruined when come in contact fully with water. Not to mention my books altogether macam sama mahal dengan my clothes.

11. My bed is not damp but only my comforter and some pillows are .

12. My room smelled all damp and musty. But with the help of some industrial strength air freshener its not so bad. Only occasional musty smell pervades sometimes. Maybe I can imagine I am in a cave.

13. At least I am not the person yang pening2 who have to fork out money for the repair works. Hmmm... but I am not looking forward for the repair works. Barang2 di bilik adalah sangat banyak untuk dialih.

Hmmmm... and also some of my sheeps and baby lambs are also victims. Sobs!

See here. This is Saiful. He had been discolored by the mini flood. I didn't post the before pictures. So I gave him a little bath to make him all whitey again.

Hmmm... oh.. and why did I called him Saiful?

What did I do during the 1st Raya?

I watched the first season of Angel. Oh. I love Doyle. I think its the Irish brogue accent. It seems the character was played by Glenn Quinn who's an Irish. Hmmmm... I seems to have a thing for guys with Scottish or Irish accent. Well, Doyle character was not long. About 9 eps. Why, why, why did his character have to be killed of?

Then I looked in imdb.com to see what other movies and series he had done, I was stunned to find that he died of heroin overdose few years back. It seems that he was having problem with drugs and this is one of the reason he had problems getting/committing to work. Pity.

I feel like rewatching Angels eps with only Doyle episodes in it. Must not be that mad...

Hmmmm.... I doubt I will be so free today as at my home, people start visiting during the 2nd Raya.

Selamat Hari Raya Orang Qatar!

Macam banyak je tahun ni kuih raya as ramai duk kasik... Tahun ni my brother and moi will be driving sendiri balik JB. Horrors! As I never drive more than an hour before and out of KL. Hehe...

Still at the office feeling immensely bored. Menaip blop sambil main game worms at my phone. Game Worms ni tak adil. Ade ke patut bile tiba nak kasik weapon je, my team punyer mesti masuk air. Hoh!

Still haven't paid my zakat fitrah yet. Will be doing this today, obviously. I like to procrastinate.

Selamat Hari Raya Alisha, akak and abang adam.

And to all others out there. Abid dah balik Changlun dah. Tsk. Tsk.

Le sigh

I had just finished watching Penelope.

Oh my, oh my. James McAvoy. I was insanely jealous of Christina Ricci. Hukhukhuk.

The movie was sweet. It wasn't great. There are something that I guess that can be improved. But I like the overall whimsical tone of the movie. Reminded me a bit of The Royal Tenenbaums meet Amelie. Love those movies. And this movie is so sweet that it brought a blush to my cheeks.

Heh. That is what I called it. The feeling of giddyness. Like when you finally meet the guy you had been wanting to meet and you could feel your cheeks getting hot. Its a little bit like this. So yes. I like this movie. Though there are scenes or plot-holes I found myself questioning.

Nevermind those. I guess perhaps I love it more cause of James McAvoy. But Christina Ricci is sweet, though her character is kinda weak. I found myself liking Reese Witherspoon character more. Heck. I even like that Edward Humphrey Vanderman III character more. But there's nothing really grating with Penelope character, only something that I feel lacking. But of course, let me just say his name once more. James McAvoy. Ah Ha.

Le sigh.

p/s: Oh yes. Selamat Hari Raya. Have a safe journey to wherever whenever. Mintak maaf jika ada silap (only).

If you can't win. Don't even try.

A month or so back, I had an IM conversation with one of my ex. Before that, we split somewhat unamicably with me furiously wanting to leave him. And he furiously do not want me to leave him. Haha. I remembered that he said I would regret it. Bah! I hate it when a guy said that. I would proceeded to try my damnedest that I would not regret it. So even today I NEVER regret it :P

Anyway after a while he was cordial and friendly back to me. Because he found another lady that win his love. I couldn't care much less nor more. But its fine anyway and I rarely hold a grudge (rarely not never ok) so I am friendly enough. But our conversation are limited to like once or twice a year.

Back to the first sentence in this post, I can't remember if I IM him or not, usually we talk vaguely on how you doing and how's work before ending it with a 'later'. But that day we were a tad bit chatty per usual before he was asking me this question " So you are never going to get married eh?"

First of all, I was rather taken aback. I mean I got the usual question probing in the dark of "when are you getting married" from the exes or friends or scandal. Tapi ini macam memerli la weh. Hahaha. So I got my defenses up and just replied "What? You think I am not the type to get married ke"

Which he then quickly proceeded to make excuses for the questions and steering the conversation away from relationship questions. ( Kalau aku marah agak hebat jugak la kan) But from that question I got curious and asked him regarding his relationship status. See? Be direct. You will get an answer. And his answer is he is in a relationship but it seems like there seems to be some bump in the road. I listened and gave my worthless thoughts on it and don't think much of it later except he is rather too reminiscent during that conversation.

Anyway, a few weeks later we got back in the usual IM conversation on how things are blabbety blah blah, before he ask me a question

Him: "If you don't mind and free, maybe we could have a berbuka puasa together?"

Me: "Erm... well.. I wouldn't mind exactly if my fiance do not mind".

Adalah a very pregnant pause di situ. Hahaha... Honestly I have no qualms in meeting a guy or my ex for lunch or whatever unless my fiance have problems with it and of course preferably if he (fiance) would be there. Saya tunang yang baik ok! Wheeeeeee! I would mind if he would meet his ex hahaha, but do not mind as much if he meets other girls. Tetapi I DEMAND HADIAH BESAR if fiance do that ok.

Well, he then proceeded to reply back, " But you said the other day you are not getting married. I asked you!"

I was getting sizzlingly irritated because first of all, I do not like to answer probing question. I do not like to give them the satisfaction. I would usually evade the question unless you asked me directly. Contoh2 soalan yang agak puaka " Tadek cik abang ke yang pick you up after work?", "Weekend ni tadek plan ape2 with someone special ke?". Gah! Tanye je la single ke tak or if you got a boyfriend? Tak susah pon kan? And why should you be so accuse-y about it. Suke aku la nak ke tanak bagitahu kat sesape yang aku nak. Ade yang aku bagitahu. Ade yang buang masa je aku bagitaw.

I just replied that he didn't ask the question and I apologized for his assumption (aku malas nak memanjangkan cerita and I am basically a nice person. Hihu and still... he did asked me if I am never going to get married in a very hypothetical way which looks kinda insulting which insulted me tapi malas la nak bring that up)

He then proceeded to ask me when the wedding and I answered. He didn't ask to come, and I macam malas nak invite.

And after that, rather laughably he proceeded to tell me what he and his girlfriend will be doing in the next few months and how he missed his girlfriend. (Baru je 2 weeks before kau cakap kau ngan die bercakap pon jarang and you are getting sick of it and mahu end the relationship. Adakah ayat kaver line beginih!!!)

Hahaha. Guys are so transparent. Tak payah la cakap pasal how happy you are with your girlfriend if you had been talking problems about your relationship before kan? Macam dah agak terlewat? Bukan? Just say you are happy for her, offer your congratulations and ask the necessary question then move on to another more pleasant topic je la kan? Huhu... mengapa perlu transparent and top it off with your own relationship bliss when its not particularly blissful or its not going to happen (It is now Oct and I haven't heard a wedding yet. I would kill myself before asking his best friend if he is indeed getting married or not)

Ah well. Tah hape2 la kan. As for our next pleasant IM conversation? I predicted that he would IM me again.... never.

Update: Eh, I spoke too soon. He had just IM me. Heeeee!

The boring post on what I did yesterday that you can skip.

Well, well, yesterday was a half day for me. Got out of the office at 1pm and me and fiance proceeded to the nearest Klinik Kesihatan to test out if we are HIV positive or not. One less boring marriage form to finish! Happy to say, I can continue to spread bodily fluids around, if I choose so. Well, not to say that I would or people who do have HIV refrain from sharing their bodily fluids eh.

Apakah topik di atas ini???

Well (again), all is well and I finished all of those at 2.20-25 pm approx (gile awal) and we continue to pick up fiance kad kahwin. It was not exactly as what he wants because there were some silly mistake happening last week, but he seems happy with it. Lelaki memang begituh. And all that finished around 3pm.

Pastuh pikir2, balik je la kan. Alang2 dah dapat permission half day without kena isi borang. Bukan ade keje pon (cewah! Ade berbulu budak2 ofis baca). So I laze around while watching THS (True Hollywood Story) with my nephew happily rolling around beside me. He is soo darn happy that someone came home early to play with him. So cute like that. Then for the FIRST time, I went to the Melawati Pasar Ramadhan. Round 2 kali, last2 beli air cincau and lemon and 3 types of kueh. Gile tadek nafsu.

Well, the above paragraphs tu introduction je for another type of post I was about to type. Tapi macam malas nak clump it to one post. So if I am rajin, nantikan....

*edited to include the tag by Kak Mel* Alang2 kan... Hahaha

Rules are:Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

7 facts about myself:

1. I sneeze a lot. If there is a sudden dip or rise in temperature, I can tell it easily because I would sneeze. They say this is resdung and a previous boyfriend asked me to go to this ape homeopathy treatment? You know the one with smokes and ulat and such. Euw. No thanks.

2. I have a small birthmark that looks a whole lot like the letter "A" somewhere on my body. Fitting right as that is my first name initial.

3. I love to read so much that I plan to have a library in my home. Just a little nook here that have all my books and sofa that I can lie down to read, sambil tengok series? Hehehe... Eh, tapi itu bukan fact. Itu plan. Faktanya ialah I like to read.

4. I don't make friends easily. I look friendly enough, but I have problems to get close to someone and be friendly or ask a lot of question. I think this stem from my thoughts on not intruding people privacy by asking inappropriate questions. So usually I am a lone wolf unless someone tarik me into their group.

5. I like the color pink, red, brown, purple and black for my clothes and accessories. However I think maroon looks best on me. Navy Blue is kinda blah to me because usually I look kinda wash out in blue.

6. I hate numbers with a passion. I have problems understanding Maths quickly or remembering numbers. Because of this I got easily frustrated and give up on the subject. I only got good grades in Maths during UPSR and PMR seasons because I had good teachers. If the teacher is lousy, I would surely fail, as I almost did in SPM. (Though the Add Maths teacher I might add, is not too good at teaching but she is very passionate in trying to see me through past 10 marks. Huhuhu) . In college, by sheer determination alone, I manage to not fail though the subjects gave me nightmares.

7. I used to like bangles/bracelets excessively that I got crazy amount of bangles for my collection since people used to love giving me these as they can see I wear different one every day in college. But nowadays it is gathering dust inside the box because I do not have time to pretty up and wear it. And also, it get in the way especially when you need to type quickly or used the mouse. Nowadays I only wear 2 gold bangles/bracelet (all the time) which I wear for sentimental/personal reason. 1 is from my late father. The other one is the first gold bracelet I bought for myself. Hmmm, maybe I can start wearing bangles and bracelets again :)

7 people I would like to tag.
1. Chuck Bass
2. Serena Van der Woodsen
3. Nate Archibald.
4. Blair Waldorf.
5. Eric Van der Woodsen
6. Dan Humphrey
7. Nelly Yuki

p/s: Pssstt.... the other are welcome to use these tag for your own filler post.

Finished !

with reading Middlemarch! Yeay! Like it. Will not read it again in a hurry. But I would like to pick it up again after a while.

Will update with the next reading list later.

A bit sleepy. At long last, I watched the Orphanage. Scary gile. Tengok cite sambil squint2 mata taknak kasik nampak sgt. Because I was so darned scared, I paused the movie sometimes during the most "dup dup dup" heart thumping times and watch ANTM in between to calm my nerves. Hahaha. Little children ghost scared me most of all, ok. Huhu.

Well, yesterday AKHIRNYA berbuka puasa jua with Sheema, Gon, Ja and Seri. Had a blast. I think we should just stay put with berbuka puasa di rumah je, lepas tuh je kuar lepak2 di McD. Huhuhu. Gamba2 ada di Seri and Sheema. Kat mana-mana aje nak camwhoring.

Oh, I was reading about ADHD diagnosed in women (even in their 30s and 40s) and got a scary thoughts that maybe I do have ADHD. Heh. Especially on this statement,
The daydreamers. The space cadets. The little girls who making eye contact with the teacher, but whose minds are 1,000 miles away.

Did I tell you that back in school my teacher used to lament on my supposedly inattentiveness? Saying that, whenever I looked at him when he was teaching, he felt like I was disconnected and my ears and eyes are somewhere else. He actually proceeded to draw how I look like in his mind ( face drawn in the middle of board with ears drawn disjointed and really far away from my face, at the edge of the chalkboard) to my embarassment. Gah! Suffice to say, I don't like that teacher all that much.

But maybe I am just inattentive but I actually does hear what he was teaching lor. Parts and stuffs. Bahasa Melayu was boring giler during Form 4 lor. *shrugs*

Hurmph, another round of 'burst blogging' eh?

I like the sound of rain against the window

I like rain. But I like it less if I am drenched and spattered with mud by nearby cars dashing to the car park.

BUSY again! Sumenye nak before lunch hour. Grrrr......

Tapi I blog. Well, just because of a need to vent on how angry I am everyday reading on the news about the food poisoning of the chemical melamine (malas nk cek ejaan) into baby formula in China. And this brand is a highly distributed brand in China. Mostly bought by middle - low income family. And their babies are terribly ill and dying.

I hate these type of species. I understand greed. I don't understand greed where it comes to a harm of another person. I am even more angry at the world when the victims are innocent children.

Well... sambung kerja balik.

"The need to blog is strong in tis one"

Macam Busy

Perlukah aku explain further?

Bukan ade interested pon nak tahu pasal aku kan? KAN?? KAN??? KAN???!!! (gile mood mendownkan diri). Wahahaha.

Will be back in time, or on time or in a timely event. Hahahaha.

Nak tidor la dan sambung baca Middlemarch (not necessarily in that order). Yes, am still reading Middlemarch, it took annoyingly long to finish, but I WILL FINISH it damnit! But I still maintain that it is an interesting read and give a glimpse to even our own character. I squirm reading it, sometimes.

p/s: This is a filler post. No, I do have some ideas on what to blog of. But no time. Later, I guess.

Brief: Diary of the Dead

Hmmm...

Just finished watching. Been watching movies this weekend. Yesterday was Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It was funny but not great.

Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, we can draw some parallels on the subleties. But Land of the Dead is just fun to watch.

Diary of the Dead is a bit preachy in its 'subleties' (but really graphic). Drawing parallels on war in Iraq, 9/11 and of course human nature in general. But that my thoughts on it. I much prefer Dawn of the Dead. Night of the Living Dead is too depressing with its late 70s and early 80s fashion. 80s fashion depressed me.

Romero's movie never explain why this happens. Hoping that maybe he would make 1 last movie before he died, explaining. But kinda doubtful on that.

Ngantuk. Mari tidur... or p'raps for some of you bersahur. But I don't sahur. So tidur la. (Gah! Tidur ni mesti mimpi zombie)

Outsourced

Been busy for the past few days. I should be busy even now... tapi macam muak tengok documents and tables for the past 3 days, so I found a respite in blogging ok.

Had 'acquired' (as taken from eyeris's words of choice) few movies that I haven't manage to watch such as Night Watch, The Orphanage, and banyak lagi la. So since it is ramadhan month and I felt bored in lunchtime, I figured that I will try to watch one of the 'light' movie in my list. One of those are Outsourced. It took me 4 days of lunchtime viewing (tempat duduk gile tak strategik ok, and even though we have free reign in the internet, I do not think the bosses will smile on workers viewing movie during supposedly working hour). And it didn't take that long pon, about 20 minutes per view in a day. Ok la tu kan. This is why I opt for a simple light and funny movie that I could just stop and continue the next day.

(Missed the days in HP la sikit when we would watch ANTM and macam-macam movie secara online streaming. What I do not miss is having your off days interrupted by the boss calling, asking you to go to work).

I 'acquired' Outsourced because actually I was looking for another movie. Have you ever have a moment where you remember the trailer, but you don't know the actor or actress or the title of the movie pon and you want to watch it? Well... the story goes like, I was watching youtube videos of funny call center moments or conversation, which in turn make me remembers my second job, which then make me remembered a trailer I remembered seeing about a call center in India and a guy in US, which makes me to turn to google for any help of the supposed movie, but it seems with all my superior googling skills, I couldn't find it and found this instead.

Picture from Outsourced site

Panjang gile introduction. Now back to the movie. Outsourced. What's it about? Taken from IMDB.com
After his entire department is outsourced, an American novelty products salesman (Hamilton) heads to India to train his replacement.

And hijinks ensue, certainly. The movie is funny and it brings back memories when I was in the call center. It makes me remember on how call center is so impersonal and businesslike and how some of the Westerner hate it when they heard an accent on the line.

I also smiled when the film showed the workers gleefully 'hias' their workstation after their boss agreed to one of the suggestion to make the office more personalized and comfortable . One of the rule of call-center is that your desk need to be bare of any thing. Boleh tak beg pon suruh letak bawah. Nothing on the table but your computer and a piece of paper and occasionally your hand holding a pen.

It is basically a movie showing about self discovery, but it address many of the issues that grate on the call center workers or just me. The boss and company relentless pursuit of impossible KPI,MPI or service level. The management encouragement asking to take up a Western name, which I opposed of, or in this movie in encouraging callers to think they are talking to an Americans instead of Indians. The crazy working hours that the workers put up and the callers or management take for granted at. The evil corporation and unstableness of call center industry where you might have a job this month and the project can be suddenly outsourced the next.

What I wonder is their enthusiasm in their job, if its true they or the Indians really like working in call center. Or maybe I just hate talking on the phone to strangers.

This movie is nice enough for some light viewing. It doesn't try too hard to be funny nor too preachy. It is advertised as a romantic comedy, but it doesn't feel like a romantic comedy. I meant, it do have a love side story in it that can threaten the movie to Bollywood proportions, but they handled it nicely I guess. The Kama Sutra suite is a hoot, though I would have imagined something even more exotic to be sure. Hahaha. But I do like it especially when it gives us a view of the slums and the busy town and the various cliches in a movie of what a Westerner have to experience in India. And I do love a colorful movie.

So what's next eh... Work!

Amazing Race Asia for Ordinary Asians?

Yesterday I watched briefly the Amazing Race Asia nye pre-show. You know the episode where they introduce all their contestants/participants/racers.

And I couldn't help it but feeling like 'muntah darah'.

Almost all of them are either actors/host/models. There is only one pair that do not eke out their living from standing in front of the camera. The Singaporean couple.

Don't the casting director know that doofus Marc & Rovilwalt from last season makes viewers like throwing stuffs on the screen. Whenever they are on, I am really not interested in watching. It's like watching a really forced bad gag.

Now they have to go ahead and cast not a pair or two or 3 pairs or people that is a host or actor or whateverumaycallit. But (Ok... I am trying to calculate in my head and I am really bad at maths, so I maybe off), but from the 20++ contestant. 10 or more are actors/models/beauty queens or host. So you Amazing Race Asia casting director. Why don't you just drop the pretending and just call it Amazing Race with the Stars!

And some of these people are not even Asian for god's sake. I am all about equality. But there is something wrong with the media and AXN and the casting director themselves, when it seems that half of the contestants seem more Caucasian than Asian. Thank God at least the Malaysian and Singaporean participants looked and sound like Malaysian and Singaporean. And do not get me started on that Thailand beauty queens.

So what you casting bigwigs? Ordinary citizens who is not pretty or talented or lucky enough to be in front of the camera are not worth your time? So if we need to be in the race, we need to drag at least one measly actor/actress to be our partner. VJ or DJ pon ok la yek. I guess those actors/singers/models/host participation form are put in 1 bedazzled box while the other ordinary boring folk are into the dust bin? Ya lor. Ordinary folk do not tarik the rating ye. Sorry that we are an especial bother. Lain kali takyah advertise pon lah for the participants boleh?

I am so disgusted (not to mention feeling like another bout of muntah hijau pulak after watching that really annoying Phillipines couple yang awek die pakai bikini tu... yeuch) watching yesterday introduction that I am quite put off in watching Amazing Race Asia. As much as I do like Ida Nerina, these whole process or pemilihan you might call it, just feel UGH!

p/s: On an altogether totally different note (Shima, shield your eyes), GG 201 eps rocks! Nate and S fake kiss is one of the hottest in the show. Just third below B kissing with Nate on the night of the dance and first is of course the limo kiss okeh. They DO have chemistry. S and Dan are kinda blah, but I don't totally hate it.

Puasa Today!

Gile tak best tajuk.

Well, didn't did anything particularly great this weekend. Sepatutnye have to continue to mengemas my room and the house, but I got distracted by THS Tyra Banks. LOL.

Didn't start puasa today like everybody else for obvious reason as per usual every year. So jab lagi nak goreng corn beef ok. Hehe.

Well.. merdeka come and goes. Almost every 31st August from the first year I started on this blog, I will write something. I was planning to, but of course that didn't happened. Honestly, there is nothing to say. This year I am not proud to be Malaysian. Oh, I am a Malaysian. I love Malaysia. There is no other place that smelt like home more than this country. However, with the political fiasco going all around for this year, and all the incredibly disgusting corruption news, stupid politicians giving stupid statements, inane parties forgetting ethics and sense itself... well. There is really nothing to be proud of this year. Yes, the people make their voices heard this year. However it seems, the voice is just a one day event and nothing really change. Or does the worse have to happen before it start getting better?

Ok. Getting to another non-too sad topic. I gotten my wedding cards yesterday. It was better than I anticipated. Not exactly perfect, but let's choose your war wisely eh. My wedding cards is just simple. Any one of you probably never save wedding invitation anyway, so I never think it wise to fork out so much. As long as all the information are there, I myself never badger for a card. Perhaps for invitation, yes. Haha. But not card. Just give me a map and the proper information, I'll try my best to be there. So you guys would receive my wedding invitation card after raya ok. Bagi awal-awal pon buat hilang kat rumah aje.

I like the wedding card. Its simple and nice and simple. Heh. And it didn't look like the usual card, so I like it even more. I had my reservation because during the time of the card preparation, I had to have this conversation with the rep from the company

" Why does the mock-up card you presented to me, is different from the one that I chose?"

" Arr.. you want it to be the same eh?"

Dalam kepala... apakah... of course lah it should be the same. "0_0"

"Erm.. arr.. ye." Quite speechless la at the time.

Anyway, its a relief to see that the card is exactly as the same as the one I chose. There are something which I think is not in sync (Hhihihi... bole ek guna tu), but its fine. Its just small details, and I am not that picky. Overall, I am satisfied.

Sooo.. there. Post should be ending, as I really need to kemas my rumah or nanti akak balik bising-bising. Blergh. I would like my own house for my own mini tornado makeover like.

Selamat berbuka puasa peeps. As I am not puasa-ing today, fiance tanak buka puasa bersama. Eiii... ade budak tu jahat.

Merdeka Weekend!

Rejoice oh good people. As long weekend are here. Phew!

Not opting to balik kampung this weekend, rather stay here in KL. Got a few plans in mind, but nothing really worth spouting off here.
This week had been a bit blah. A few people pisses me off or kinda make me feel sad a bit. But also nothing worth to be spouting off here. Not in a rant mode maybe, but I do feel some people should be less of an arse a bit, or think a little before typing or doing anything. Ok? Paham sedara sedari? Ok. Tamoh cakap lebeh2.

So a picture laden post. Not my pics. Obviously.

First of all, fiance brought back from US...

As I said, it is expensive to buy Georgette Heyer books here. I love her book to bits. Hehe. I love Regency romance books. Its make a fun read. And he bought 5!~ I said only one lor. Not my fault he bought it all. And he bought Neil Gaiman's graphic novels. I was waiting for The Graveyard Book, not yet in stores unfortch, so he bought these instead. Inside of "The Last Temptations" is like rows and rows of strips of black and white comic drawing. (I will add the picture tonight ) Woohh. Macam pening je nak baca. But try je la. Though the last time I try to read a comic book like that, (Doraemon, Slam Dunk and Dr Slump tak kira), I end up puking. Pening lor.

Now... 2 weeks in a row, I had eaten at a very chio pizza place in KL. I am the type of person, who got arrested by weird cravings every day. So last week I found myself walking around dazedly in the back alley of KL to find that pizza place where I see everyday on my way to work. (Not really back alley la, but I rarely walked down that small roads pon). Fiance laughed at me and said I am obviously guided to go there by smell as he knows how terrible I am at finding a place and deciphering directions.

Well, my first trip, I had the half baked potatoes with sour cream and chives. It is also topped with bits of beef bacon. ( I may forget the exact name). A bit oily. Soak the oil with a paper towel, if you like. But really best eaten when hot. Especially topped with the cold sour cream. I like it. Though I did wish it left some of the isi potato a bit more. They scooped out the isi from the potatoes and filled it with cheese. Sape yang suke cheese mesti akan orgasmic. Even moi yang kureng dengan cheese admit that their cheese memang sedap.

I ordered the pizza to go because adalah sangat gile mentekedarah if I were to eat 6 of those potatoes halves and 1 whole pizza alone during lunch hour. So the pizza (Beef Pepperoni and Mushroom) re-baked telah dikongsi bersama at home, with my sis and her husband. I took the smallest size 10". Tapi after 2 slices telah cukup. 3 slices sangat kenyang. Their small size is comparable to Domino's regular one. So...
  • Pizza RM23++
  • Potato Halves RM12++ (It's a bit expensive than I think necessary tapi I like it so much I forgive the price)

So the fiance pulak heard me gush, ask me to drag him towards the place yesterday. This time, I knew already the shortest route possible, I did not think twice to said yes. Was tempted to bought the potato halves it would be a tad too much. So we just ordered the pizza instead (The smallest size again. The fiance with a gleam in his eyes, of course wanted the one with the most topping so we ordered the NY Finest pizza (It have some green and red bell peppers, beef pepperoni, beef grounds, chicken ,onions dan tah hape2 lagi la).

Delicious. But I was really, really full. The topping adalah sangat banyak.

This time is an improvement from the last time I went, as there is now air-conditioning! Fuh... Ambience? He like the place because it played loads of old songs goodness. Don't expect fine dining experience, as they just gave you plastic cups and plates and self service aje. I couldn't care less though, but I like the exterior and interior. Yellow! Like my little car! It even have cute little yellow Vespa to deliver their pizzas. Kewl.

But macam dah muak sikit dengan pizza dah. Kenyang bangat semalam. But takpe, fasting month is coming in close. Lepas raya month maybe I would give it a try again. *grin*

La Vie En Rose

                                   la-vie-en-rose-poster-0

Had just finished watching the incredibly talented Marion Cotillard in La Vie en Rose or La Môme. And I have to say, that she surpasses Cate Blanchett in portraying a famous icon.

The film gives us the story of Edith Piaf turbulent life and highlighting the high and low points of her life. Raised in a brothel and a circus. Performing in streets and discovered by a club manager, this story tells of her life; childhood, her fame, her loves, her tragedies and the most incredible of all her singing.

The film is c'est magnifique and Marion Cotillard deserves her award. I viewed some of Edith Piaf performance in YouTube and found that Cotillard movement and posture in the movie is spot on. The film itself, it got a bit confusing at first as the film goes back and forth from when she was old and she was young. However after 30 minutes of viewing I believed the director made the right choice in doing this as this brings the viewer different sorts of feelings, tumultuous, happy, sad, pity, all going up and down, up and down throughout the 2 hours.

One of the best biographical ( I don't really know what these kinda movie called) movie I ever watched. And also what amazed me is the make up. Marion Cotillard a beautiful 32 year old, played a 40++ year old woman who looked like she is 70 so convincingly, that I have to look at IMDB.com to see if there is another actress playing the older Piaf. Before this when I watched a movie and an actress who have to age herself 20 or 30 years, it always failed. Either they look the same except for some really unconvincing white hair (Love in the Time of Cholera ... I am looking at you). Or the actresses and actors, just look like they had just apply an unnatural layer of foundation on their face and etched some line into that mountains of foundation.

What I love about French films, they always gives great soundtrack. I don't understand what they are wailing about, but it tugged at your heart just the same. And of course a film about one of the greatest singer, guarantee a great soundtrack. Currently am listening to some of Edith Piaf many many songs, and I have to say I love it. Absolutely love it. Some of my favorite from the movie are Milord, Non je ne regrette rien and La Foule.

Marion Cotillard performance alone warranted a must see and then you found yourself wanting to keep on hearing Edith Piaf songs.

In the 80s: We used to watch and have these....

Part 3 & 4: What we used to watch and what we used to have

Part 1: We used to eat

Part 2: We used to play

What we used to watch...

(Though I do think this is more of an early 90s cartoon)

Dragonball. I don't watch these.

Yups. I think those are the Power Rangers. I did watched it. It is quite as lame ass as Ultraman, but it is kinda a guilty pleasure. After the cast started to leave, starting from Amy Jo Johnson then I stopped watching.

Nothing in Power Rangers is cool. Especially after you watched your brothers re-enact those battle scenes.

Hikhikhik. Til today if there is Doraemon on tv, I would watch it. "Doraemon and Poket Ajaibnye". Love it. Especially the comic. Though the cartoonist kinda a paedo pervert for his persistent drawing of Sizuka in the bath or changing clothes.

It also make me always excited to see dorayaki. I will be always... OMG, OMG, Doraemon favorite food!

He-Man. Yeah. It was one of those cartoons muscle clad heroes wearing speedos loincloth waving around their sword.

Also I much prefer She-Ra. I was a feminist, even back then.

"I'm Popeye the Sailor Man..."

A tune that will forever emblazoned in your mind. Also I believe the only cartoons that make children wants to eat spinach willingly even though they grimaced whenever they are downing it.

I am one of those person. But I am also the type of child who have to clean her plates, so in order to do that I will imagine that those vegetables are something else altogether. e.g. Broccoli and cauliflower - I imagine I am a giant and I am eating trees as snack.

I used to love TMNT. But I always have difficulties in accepting them as heroes and salivating after April because they are turtles. And why are there turtles in the sewage again.

Guys swore by it.

I never really care about it. When I was small I was always annoyed whenever there is Transformers on. I would think why, why they keep on showing this while they could show Jem!

Little Smurfs. I could not remember why the villain keep on trying to catch them little blue people.

I did like it. But not so much. It kinda bored me abit.

I love Tom & Jerry. I never think Tom is bad. I think he is cute. I especially love the Tom & Jerry Kids, when Tom is a kitten and Jerry... well a lil mouse.

Tom is the cutest cat ever.

Thunder... thunder.... thundercat!

Remembered waking up early when I was in Australia to watch this.

Special Mentions:
Gummy Bear!
Denver the Last Dinosaur
Gargoyles (I love that)
Jem and the Holograms
The Jetsons
The Flintstones (Hate the movie though)

What we used to have...

Don't think so that I ever have the 'fruits' eraser as its a bit expensive.

I remember having the flag one. Slalu frust when you have to erase something cause it would ruin the eraser.

My pencil box was normal, but if a classmate have this pencil case, the kids would usually pinjam and menggodeh the pencil case opening up every nook and crannies.

I usually rearrange their things to places its not suppose to just to just annoy them. Heh.

Actually I am not too sure what this picture suppose to show. Pemadam pen yg hampes, yang hanya boleh koyakkan kertas? Or lousy metal pencil box that always dent and rust. Or those pencils? Or those little stickers which I admit I love.

Special Mention:
Autograph Books (I treasure my autograph book)
Name cards (Why would a 12 year old need a name card amaze me even now)

p/s: malas plak nak carik pics for the Special Mention.

Cats and Mess

At first this photo was meant for my IG story, but the mess is too much. So I opted not to, and in a whim decided to just post it here. Beca...
